Iron Skillet Restaurant

Don’t bother! We stopped for breakfast on 12/​30/​2015 around 9:30 am as we were traveling northbound on I-​59. This is a restaurant at a truck stop. We ordered the breakfast buffet for $ 9.39 and coffee. We should have tried ordering from the regular menu, but I’m not sure it would have been any better. The sausage gravy and biscuits were OK and the bacon was good, but nothing else can be recommended. The service was very friendly and efficient. The restrooms were horrible. I recommend trying somewhere else for breakfast.

Solid little cafeteria style restaurant.
It’s a little strange how Greek food has this influence on Alabama kitchens.
Fried chicken, greens, mash-​tatoes, fried green tomatoes and Greek salad/​Greek roasted chicken quarters. Buuuuut it works.
Our waitress summer was awesome.

We enjoyed this place for a stop along our road trip. The food was pretty good for a buffet and it was good service, quickly got in and out. Would go again, it’s certainly a better option than fast food.

Good «Ol Truck Stop Cooking! I had the Western Omelette (Denver Omelete) hash browns, large orange juice and I thought I was going to explode I was so full!

Let me start by saying the service was excellent, now on to the food. I made the mistake of having their bbq buffet, way over priced for tough no flavor meat nasty vegetables and wilted lettuce. My recommendation to you fellow travelers is go to the Popeyes and get some damn chicken cause its gonna have some flavor and not rape your wallet

Had breakfast buffet a couple of times recently. Good was good, service was excellent. Large group both times and server was fantastic.

Its not bad, thought the food was pretty good, except for the fried chicken it tasted like rubber meat wasn’t too happy with that. Overall okay

Great breakfast. Coffee was perfect. I ordered eggs and bacon, with grits and biscuits. Everything was cooked just right, and promptly served with a smile. My husband got the buffet, and I tasted the buffet link sausage which was the best breakfast sausage I’ve ever eaten. He had an omelet made to order (omelets on weekend only), and he raved about it. My daughter’s hash browns were crisp and tasty. Portions were generous, and prices reasonable. Highly recommended! Note: This restaurant is in a truck stop. For my husband that itself was a great recommendation, because from his very extensive travel experiences, truck stops tend to have great food. However, if you want a fine dining experience, this ain’t it!
