When is a McDonald’s not just a regular McDonald’s? When it is close to an area where you can be trapped for hours to days. With Hines VA Hospital, Loyola Hospital, and the Maywood Cook County Courthouse all almost within a healthy walking distance, this spot has a prime location.
Are they Fast? No, not even close. How’s the food? Better than you’d expect. How’s the condition of the interior? Dated but kept clean.
They do really seem to make every thing while it’s ordered. This slows them down in a good way. But they’re not logistically organized correctly on food production so this slows them down a bit more, in a bad way. The employees are cordial while the majority of customers may not be.
Ultimately I want my food hot, I want it correct, and I don’t want to feel like I’m just a number waiting for food to roll down the assembly line. They seem capable to manage this part. With a good operations or logistics over-​hall they could truly hit five stars.
There’s a Little Caesars just west of this store but that is a whole different «fast food group» but it is faster if that’s your primary need.
