Ponderosa Steak House

The Ponderosa caters to Senior Citizens on Mondays and Wednesdays which makes this for a busy place. We have become regulars and enjoy being called by our first names and our drinks being on the our favorite table when we arrive.
If you are anywhere near like us, Fried Chicken has been one of our favorites for years. But let me tell you, Ponderosa has the BEST Fried Chicken for many many miles around.
The service is fabulous and the prices are too!

Like many, I visited this restaurant as a child and remember stuffing myself with food and then going crazy at the ice cream machine. Unfortunately the one in my neighborhood closed down and I had probably not been to one in 20+ years! I was long overdue.
So, after completing a grueling Tough Mudder, the group recommended this for a post race meal. How could I refuse? Our group along with many other orange headbanded mudders descended upon this place and ate like savages.
This Ponderosa did not disappoint and provided our group with enough carbs, protein, fat, and most importantly ice cream that we all left sore (from the race) and stuffed (from the food). As far as the restaurant goes, the is a no frills, ya get what ya pay for kinda place, which is why I rated it only 3 stars, it’s perfectly A-​OK. The bathroom was clean and the workers were friendly and prompt with refills and checking our table. Go here to get stuffed, not to overwhelm your taste buds with gustatory excellence.
Pros: you can add a steak for $ .50c! There were other additional items to add as well, I chose to stick with the regular buffet (about $ 10) and had more than enough food. I found the meat loaf to be really tasty as well. The ice cream was just like I remember and I topped mine with a brownie (a nice ooey gooey soft one). I did have a small salad and the fixings were good and plentiful.
Cons: not having enough room for all the food I wanted.
Eating here brought back all the youthful nostalgia and was a treat after one of the most physically and mentally demanding events of my life.
