I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and I had no problem setting up an appointment with the receptionist, who was nice and friendly. She offered me the on going promotion and I bought two of the introductory offers and received a free hot towel foot massage. On the day of my girlfriends appointment a different reception was there and gave us a hard time and said she will be charging us for the hot towel foot massage which was suppose to be free. During her first facial massage she was offered an upgrade and was told it was only $ 20 and she accepted it, but after her massage we paid more than what she was told for the upgrade. The reason why i’m giving a 1 star because they are very shady with their promotion and prices and will SCAM you. They will tell you one thing but than lie to you and give you a ridiculous excuse and make you pay more.

For the price of a 50 minute massage and the options they have to add on, this place is great. $ 60 for almost an hour? you wont find that anywhere else. I have only been once to this location and I was happy with my massage therapist, Brittany. I am a member there and now live here so I will be there once a month. thanks!

I have been a customer of hand and stone for at least three years. Once in Pa and once in Nj. There is no comparison that the staff in Huntington Valley Pa is much more professional than the mays landing staff. I have been out on hold when calling for over ten minutes after the receptionist stated ’ can you hold for a brief moment’. This happened three times in all. I also like to mention that my last facial was a joke. The neck massage was excellent but the facial was poor. I also had a body massage which was very good.

Worst experience ever with a business… my daughter was going there for acne treatments twice a month and the woman who worked on her left the facility. When my daughter saw a new anestatist, she only gave her the basic rub down facial which is not what she was going there for. I tried to talk to the manager about it and when I shared my dislike with the situation he began to yell, become sarcastic, and demeaning. He said not only will I not get reimbursement for the service that was rendered, even though it was the wrong service, but he said he will charge my credit card another month, basically out of spite. He even hung up on me in the middle of a conversation. It’s not so much about the money buy about the principle of it all. What happened to customer service? Who talks to a paying customer in such a manner. Our first visit we paid over $ 200 for an extraction facial and all of the recommended creams and was paying $ 60 bi-weekly plus 20% tip… so they already got a pretty penny out of me. I should have listened to a girlfriend of mine who has had many facials throughout the year but got severely burned at the Hand and Stone in Mays Landing and they refused to take responsibility for it and wouldn’t think of refunding her money. Save your money! The place is run poorly by a manager who can’t talk to a person in a professional tone. Customer not-service!

first time hand & stone visit ever from myself and my husband. typically we visit toppers spa in philadelphia or a resort spa on vacation. but since we had a gift card to use we decided to give hand & stone a shot. i was a little skeptical that a chain spa could compare to a luxury private spa but they proved me wrong! my mister and i had a couples massage. my masseuse was Kenny, and he was amazing. very polite, thorough with appropriate questions and a very relaxing disposition. he called me by name, listened to what i said and gave me a fabulous massage! when my mind slips into lalaland while being massaged i know i’m in good hands! my body felt perfect afterwards and my mind at ease. The ladies in the reception area were kind and effecient. and the entire place was clean, quiet and beautifully set up. overall a fantastic experience!

I liked my massage therapist. A little unsure but sweet. My complaint is actually the room. After the third loud crash against the wall my massage therapist apologetically told me this room shares a wall with the sink in the kitchen of the restaurant next door. Yeah there is no way to play the soothing music loud enough to cover that up…

I bought an 80 minute Swedish massage for my mom for Mother’s Day and this Monday she finally had the chance to use it. I called in around 1:45pm to make an appointment for my mom at 4:00pm. The male receptionist asked that she come 20 minutes early at 3:40pm and asked for my credit card number in case she doesn’t make her appointment I will be charged $ 25. My mom got there at 3:30pm and they did not take her until 4:15pm. Her massage therapist was not ready so she opted out for another therapist. Her massage therapist was a male. She said that he was strong and worked on her lower back for the most part. She asked that he massaged her arms and hand. They talked throughout the massage. She left the place feeling good. After she left Hand and Stone for over an hour later the palm of her hand began to irritate her. Later that night the palm of her hand started to swell up. I called Hand and Stone on Wednesday to speak about my mother’s swollen hand. Miss Sue picked up, I told her about my Mother’s hand and asked if this was normal. She said, «No it’s not normal, but I doubt it was anything that was done here. It’s been 5 days and it’s still swollen?» In reality it’s been only 2 days since she was there. She said she would call me back. Within 5 minutes she called back telling me about the therapist’s notes. She then blamed it on my mother’s profession. She never apologized and never offered anything. There was no accommodations and no customer care involved. I expected more from a big chained business. I’m not the confrontational type of person but once I got off the phone I realized that nothing she said made sense and she handled the situation very poorly. My mother gets a massage once every month and has NEVER experienced anything like this. My mother is a business owner of a Nails and Spa business for over 30 years. She’s never had any injury or swelling from doing manicures. I’m terribly disappointed at the way Hand and Stone handled this situation. We will not be returning, nor recommending. I’ve made an appointment for her to see a physician and hopefully everything will turn out okay.

Wow… What a GREAT experience! Better than any massage I have gotten at any casino… At a fraction of the price. Very highly recommended!

Pat did an amazing job melting all of my knots and stress away. The prices are very good compared to Atlantic City spas and very basic but that’s what you expect with chain spas. Everyone was nice and she listened exactly where I told her was bothering me. I came out and yes had a small pitch to get the membership but I explained I’m moving out of state and they were very nice about it. I’ve been seeing bad reviews that they try and throw membership down people’s throat but that wasn’t the case here. I was in so much pain and they took me an hours notice! The prices for non-members are really fair too, I can’t wait to go back and get a facial!

Be very careful. My friend put down a credit card to hold his reservation. An hour later got a call from the credit card company saying that someone tried to charge over 1,000.00 on the card for an online purchase.

First time at Hand & Stone. Was given a gift certificate for Christmas, so I called to make the appointment… Upon arriving I was greeted by Nick, he was very friendly … he explained all about Hand & Stone, showed me around. the atmosphere was very peaceful and calming. the massage rooms were very nice, you could control the lights, music and heat on the table. It’s all about you at Hand & Stone according to Nick and honestly that’s how they make you feel. The massage therapist was really nice and had great technique, the massage was fabulous. I would highly recommend making an appointment.

Don’t waste your money! Since I work at a desk all day, I decided to go for the membership since I was getting a monthly massage anyway. My first massage there was ok but not the best so I asked for a different therapist the next time. Amy did a great job and I started requesting her monthly. When I went in for my normal appointment, I found out Amy was no longer there and I was assigned a new therapist. The massages were back to being just ok and sometimes I left with the knots that I arrived with. At least twice I asked for trigger point massages, they set up the appointment and then did not have someone capable of performing a trigger point. The one time I was not notified until I got there and had to settle for a Swedish massage, the other time they tried to push the Swedish massage first and then rescheduled my appointment twice. When my year was up, I told them I needed to cancel that my personal schedule was going to be busy for a few months, I was told that I had a massage left on my package and that I could come back to use it. When I tried to use it they looked up my account and made the appointment, but when I went in, they would not honor my last massage. They said the time had expired to use it. This place is a total rip off!
