Legends Comix and Games

Legends rocks. Are their prices good? Yes. Is the staff knowledgeable and attentive? Definitely. But Legends is really 5 star because of a much bigger picture.
I first went to Legends in 2005 when it occupied the space at the old Maynard mall. It was immediately clear that the owners, Motor & Geno, weren’t just there to turn a profit. Legends was a place for people to come together and geek out. It was a safe space where kids who had a tough time making friends learned to socialize and be confident. It was a place to share obscure references and find new obsessions. I spent nearly every Saturday of the subsequent 2 years hanging out at «the shop» and gaming with excellent people.
I stopped into Legends yesterday after finding out that Motor was back in town managing the shop again. It was so good to be back in that familiar warm, fuzzy, safe, nerdy bubble! Lots of new merch & a new schedule of game days, familiar faces & a new generation of gamers/​comic book lovers. If you haven’t been to Legends (or haven’t been recently), check it out!
