The room we were given was very clean and easily the size of a one bedroom apartment. The bathroom is enormous and spotless. There’s a whirlpool, loveseat, queen bed, and a separate bedroom with a king sized bed. The beds are comfortable, bedding is clean. Carpet looks new, paint is fresh, tv is new. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s worth a visit for the budget traveler.

My Significant Other(we are both old enough that girl friend seems a little awkward) is on a trip from NM, through Yellowstone, Custer State park etc going to visit family in MD. The trip is with her 12 yr old grandson. She stopped at the Alaskan Motor Inn in Mauston, WI. They both raved about their room – they are in the 2 room suite, and their pictures showed how great this place is.(The exterior does not do it justice). I realize that other reviews – on Unilocal,Trip Advisor etc are very poor. I called the Inn from NM and spoke with the Desk who explained that they have recently done a lot of work on the place. If you are travelling through there you may wish to give the place a try.(I can only speak about the 2 room suite, do not know about the other rooms).

SCARYSCARYSCARY!!! Unfortunately I had to spend 2 nights in this dump because my dad, who thought he was doing us a favor, paid for a room here for me and several other family members. Picture this scenario: Miscellaneous stains/streaks on the dirty walls, chipped and chopped wood by the doors(looked like people had tried to break in at various other times, or the work of an axe murderer), bottle openers attached to the wall in the bathrooms, nasty, stained, scratchy bedspreads on the lumpy beds, and to top it off, we were awakened by hookers arguing in the parking lot at night. I couldn’t even take a shower I was so skeeved out. It was SONICE to get home to my own shower, bed, and plush carpet. I finally felt clean again!
