Sink or Swim Tattoo

I have quite a few tattoos and for the most part they are from one friend who I trusted back in Texas and its been hard trying to find another artist I trust. Being a self professed ink connoisseur, I am still pretty intimidated to walk into a tattoo shop. My sister was in town visiting and we wanted to get a small matching tattoo. I had seen this place a few times whilst dining at Stacks, and we thought we’d give it a try. This place is so awesome. The staff is really friendly (which I personally find to be a rarity for a tattoo shop) and the tattoo artist was friendly, engaged in the forming and location of the tattoo and was very straight forward with the pricing. The vibe was very chill and it was welcoming. And don’t let me forget the art. Their art is art! There was another guy getting tatted and the piece was so nice and the two artists were helping each other out with placement and the like. So, if you’re looking for some ink in your life, I’d say go!

Bobby Williams is not the artist he once was. He has worked on me in the past and did superb work. Now he just messed my tattoo of Mona Lisa. Its scarred all around the neck

Friendly and laid back staff. Very accommodating. If you’re getting a tatt in CLT you should def get it here.

Very poor customer service and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I paid a deposit for a tattoo and asked to see a drawing. When given the first draft I tried to tell the artist (Elijah Blackwell) what I liked and didn’t like about the drawing… here’s what he said to me:
HIM: «So u will redraw it with what you are telling me you want… and only so much will. Fit on your arm … if I have to I will just wait till you get to my studio to draw it… Which most likely will be the next step…»
ME: «We can wait until we are there if that is what you think will be best!»
(obvsiously I didn’t yet understand that he is actually telling me to draw my own tattoo)
HIM: «That tesla is not a problem I can put it together in no more that 30 minutes… if I have time I will have another one ready before but I have 6 appts. Today and 4 tomorrow.. so I doubt it… I also need to get melissa ready but honestly I’m pretty over getting people’s drawing ready for them cause I always end up tattooing it on someone else … see you soon»
(Why is he complaining to a customer that he doesn’t have time to do the work he was paid for? It says it takes him thirty minutes but he can’t seem to find the time?!?)
So now he is tattooing my first draft on another person (the draft I PAID for). It was a FIRST DRAFT… of course I am going to ask for changes… it’s going to be on my body forever! He also blasted over his facebook how this tattoo free game because the customer now wants to design their own tattoo. You guys take what you want from that…
So if you prefer getting tattooed by drama queen artist that require you to stroke their ego before they do the work you paid for, then I definitely recommend Sink or Swim.
