Comfort Inn Matthews – Charlotte

The room was pretty nice, especially for this price point. It has an under-​window heating/​AC unit, which I don’t really care for, but that’s normal for this room type; we just turned it off during the night. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was fine.
Checkin and checkout was good, folks were friendly and efficient.
The most disappointing aspect was the breakfast. They offer pre-​processed cheese omelette things, which don’t look very appealing, and are a bit hit or miss: the first morning one was delicious, but the next morning they were cold (had to heat in the microwave). The juices are not drinkable, in my (and my wife’s) opinion: very watered down and with a weird taste. The donut I had was good, but a banana nut muffin was NOT very tasty, I didn’t have but one bite.

Rooms are decent, clean but some issues that you’d expect from hotels. Breakfast is 2 star quality. My biggest issue is internet is terrible and cable TV channels are out because they need to convert to digital. I constantly ask hotels the question of, «why invest in nice new flat screen televisions», yet not one single HD channel… It’s not the end of the world, but when you’re working all day and want to relax and watch sports or Netflix and TV is garbage then internet is just as bad.

Attempted to modify a reservation that I had made for the wrong date. Was unable to reach the hotel directly despite calling a number of times. Had to make a reservation at another Choice Hotel; Choice Hotel could not modify or refund the money.
Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

What would you expect when you only pay 59.99 for a night. Not enough towels in the room and the fridge had a open beer can inside from the 21^st of December. Very disappointed!!!

Clean and comfortable. Not updated but has comfortable beds. Staff was Ok. Very affordable, I would stay here again.

This hotel would have been a 5 star hotel if it had not been for the overly confident owner. Who doesn’t feel as if anything could ever go wrong. I started the conversation with what I enjoyed about the place. Then started to let him know about what I was unsatisfied in this case a rude chain smoking late night receptionists. Half way threw my sentence he interrupted me and started arguing with me! I will never stay here ever again and will tell everybody how awful this hotel is.
