CATS Park and Ride

BIG BIG Fan of having someone else drive you to work… it lets you get an extra 20 – 25 min of sleep and it is easy on the mileage/​maintenance your personal vehicle receives. This CATS Park & Ride is located near the intersection of Sam Newell and Independence Blvd (behind the Red Lobster/Applebee’s/Showmars). It’s super convenient to get to and there are tons of spaces to leave your vehicle while you catch a ride downtown. What is great is that most of the buses here are Express buses which get you to where you need to be pretty quickly.
There are bathroom facilities located here and the lot is covered by surveillance and you also see local Matthews police squad cars patrolling. It’s not located in a «bad» area, but I’m sure people could take advantage of unattended cars during the day. Luckily there are plenty of safety measures and people going in and out of this place on a constant level so it’s relatively safe (fingers crossed). The lot is also well lit at night, but always remember to be aware of your surroundings — this lot is located beyond the busy restaurant strip of Independence so its close, but also not that close to where a ton of people should be traversing.
