Frame Masters

I purchased a painting online with the description that stated «some slight wear on the frame». I received the painting and the frame was trashed. So what do I do? What I normally do when I need something. I go right to Unilocal and find a business to use. Once I saw Kathleen M’s review of this place, I knew I would be ok. Its tucked in the older part of Matteson. Its a small place with plenty of frames to choose from. My frame was done in a timely fashion and they did a great job. I absolutely love this place, the owners are artists and have such an eye for what will enhance whatever you are framing.
I have been coming here all my adult life, heck, this relationship outlasted my first marriage! I have had old photographs framed, chalk drawings of my children, prints I have purchased and even posters I adore. Bob will always listen to you and why you want to preserve this item and what your budget is. I had a poster I wanted to hang and I was a single mom and he basically sealed it for me in their least expensive way and that poster still looks great in my sewing room. He also has done wedding pictures of my wedding and my parents’ when the sky was the limit.
Recently, I won the New Yorker Caption contest. I know you know, I told the world. I was so tickled I wanted to frame the artist signed print of the cartoon which they sent me. I had also kept the magazine from when I was a finalist and the winner. Bob came up with a gorgeous arrangement of it all. I even popped for museum quality glass, a 32.00 upgrade but hey, hubris has a price. I had a print, 2 cartoons and a title all doubled matted, with museum quality glass and a superb frame all for 162.00 — way cheaper than any of the chains with their bogus 50% coupons. Plus the quality is superb and the arrangement is perfect.
For your next framing project I cannot recommend this place highly enough. No matter where you live, it is worth the drive. But when you get in your car, bring your checkbook or cash, they aren’t set up for credit cards.

My family has been having our artwork framed by Frame Masters for over 20 years. I no longer live in the area but save up my framing projects to bring to them. The owners, Bob Barber and Karen DeWitt (husband & wife), are both artists who obviously take pride in their work and craftsmanship. Their prices are very reasonable for the work that they do. I have had pieces done in Chicago by upscale frame shops that were much more expensive and have been disappointed. Frame Masters is the best!
