I just visited Cheesequake Farms in Matawan, and what a pleasant surprise. It was centrally located off route 34 and there was plenty of parking. The best thing is that it wasn’t mobbed like every other farm is this time of year. I took this fun hayride with my son into this beautiful field full of pumpkins. It was an actual pumpkin patch where they grow, not just dirt with pumpkins thrown there. They also had a large corn maze. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and the people were very nice, I will definitely be going back.

This is a pretty nice place, and I bet you will like it. It only cost you 3 dollars to take the hayride and play the corn maze. The pumpkin is $ 0.59 per pound, but you do not have to buy it. If you want to pay the pumpkin by credit card, you will have to drive to their front store.

Not sure how this place does not have more reviews. I went yesterday to Cheesequake farms with my husband, 18 year old daughter, mom, and even took our pet rabbit on a harness. We had an absolute blast(even my 18 year old). The hayride was so nice and we got to look at all of the fruits and veggies that are grown on the farm, it was about a 10 minute hay ride. Once we got to the pumpkin patch we did the corn maze. OMG we loved it, talk about a real maze. We were in it for about 45 minutes trying to find our way out. Everyone is absolutely friendly. We met other families in the corn maze and ended up sticking together to find our way out. once we found our way out of the corn maze we went to the patch and there were just so many pumpkins to choose from it was unbelieveable. We were suppose to get one each but we ended up with 8 pumpkins all sizes and colors. We were at the patch for about 2 hours. Then took the hayride back and at check out you can purchase some of their fruits and veggies, cider, pies, candy apples, carving tools, flowers, and more. I ended up buying their grown sweet potatoes, apples, a carving kit, nuts, sunflowers, and candy apples. I regret not buying some apple pies. We talked about it on the car ride home and look forward to going back… This is definitely a place to go with the entire family.

Excellent quality local farm. Please support our local farms! My husband and I purchased several(healthy) plants for gardening. My goodness these plants produce excellent quality fruits. Peppers, Tomatoes, Eggplant, Lettuce, Cucumbers. Do your garden a favor and purchase your starter plants from Cheesequake Farms. The prices are comparable to other farms — probably $ 1 or more than HD — but totally worth it. We had a section of garden that was a mix of Home Depot plants and Cheesequake plants. The Cheesequake plants out grew, out produced and are more hearty than the HD ones. 10 ft tall tomato plants! golfball sized cherry tomatoes. *excellent* Thank God of this farm. We will continue to support and purchase goods from Cheesequake! Will check out the pumpkin patch and corn maze this year.

Good farm. Nice staff. They have little piggy and they sell rabbits. Pumpkins were really plump and still on the vine cause it’s still pretty early in the season. Id go back the prices were comparable to most other farms and natural food stores. It’s really great for little kids. They had a corn maze that you can walk through after you pick your pumpkin or before.

Cheesequake Farms is one of the best Central New Jersey farms for pumpkin picking. Less crowded than Casola Farms and they actually let you legitimately pick the pumpkins from the patch here. Many other pumpkin picking locations simply plop a bunch of pumpkins in a field for you to pick out, they’re not the actual pumpkin patches. Here at Cheesequake, you pay $ 3 and they take you via hayride out to a pumpkin patch. A pretty decent corn maze is also included with your $ 3 entry fee. Your kids with love it!
