Went yet again to get a bite to eat last night. Another amazing display of fresh delicious fish for a great price

The sushi here is decent for the area. Prices are a little high and the service is some of the worst I have ever had.

We have been going to Yuki since opening week. The lack of diversity in this area forces us to continue to go to places that are fair. This is one of those places. Service is Slow(being kind). Prices are High, compared to a Good Sushi place. Don’t order the Spider Roll, it has more Fake Crab and a tiny piece of Soft Shell(isn’t that what a spider roll is all about– especially the price!)

Great little sushi restaurant. I am so glad that they came to Matamoras, PA!

Outstanding sushi off the beaten path. I love sushi and was delighted but dubious when one opened in this small town on the tristate border. I’ve been there several times now DNS always find the food fresh creative and elegantly prepared. Highly recommended. Right next to the movies, too. We often go right before or after a show.

Ate here around the time they first opened, they were still mounting the sign on the front of the business. Very small place, way too small for stay in service especially in cold winter when the door opens and closes bringing in cold air. FYI… Fish is frozen bagged. How do I know… I saw food prep. opening a bag of fish with a knife and proceed to wash it and place it on the board to cut up. That in itself was a total let down but not all that surprising(we are not in the NYC ya know). I’ve had a ton of sushi, sashimi, Japanese dished in my lifetime since I have Japanese in my blood, my point being I know what is good/fresh and what is not. This place is just your run on the mill Pensultucky Japanese joint, nothing special.

I hate to see a small business fail but this restaurant does not have a future. While I have had a couple of good sushi meals here over the past few months, their opening and closing hours are way to difficult to predict even with phone calls and a Facebook page. If a business doesn’t care enough to be open, you have to wonder about the quality and freshness of the food. Bottom line — don’t bother.

Came all the way from NY to have sushi here for my b day and they are just not open. no sign on the door, nothing. This was annoying to me but they do have great sushi.

I loved having a refreshing dinner here with my friends and family! I loved that its BYOB too. The Salmon Lover’s Deluxe was very fresh. The service is sub par and a little rude, however and i was disappointed by it.

This review is based on a visit to Matamoras to take some kids to Way Back Burgers but the vegetarian in the group ordered Lobster Roll at Yuki which is a few doors down. I’m confused by earlier reviews because when we were there the place was very clean, the service was somewhat slow, but friendly, and the Lobster roll was very good. Only one entrée ordered so limited data point on food, but would go again.

I have had multiple great experiences here. Food is always great and owners are very friendly. Noodles are great and sushi is very fresh and well prepared. The spicy tuna salad rocks. I lived in a major city with access to sushi for many years and I am so happy to see the area get a movie theater and sushi!

I am not a sushi person but my daughter and her friend are — they loved it. I had the Teryaki Chicken Box and I loved that too. The place is small but very clean and feels modern — unlike all of the other asian places in the area. I thought the service was excellent — very polite, a little slow — but we weren’t in a hurry and enjoyed spending the time together. There area is a headquarters for fast food, fireworks, and cigarettes… as a resident, it was nice to sit down in a peaceful environment and enjoy a good meal, with the exception of Two Rivers Grill, there is no where else to do that locally. I wish the proprietors success, I hope that maybe they will be able to move to a bigger space, the space feels very small. We will definately go back and recommend to our friends.

The worst experience with sushi ever! From the slow, poor service, cold soup to ice crystals in the fish the place is a joke. The server asked how everything was I attempted to tell him in a polite manner that they left a lot to be desired he said«thank you very much» and wandered off without do much as an apology I wouldn’t waste my time for a second chance.

Gave this place two chances. First they ruined my Valentine’s Day dinner. Order sushi and the Hibachi Seafood Noodle(Yaki udon). Instead was given soup for $ 15.95. Called and was told next time you come in we will give you a $ 2 credit since the udon soup was $ 2 less than the meal. The sushi is priced ok but the dinners are WAY overpriced for the amount of food you get. Sushi is decent but the meals are mediocre at best. The udon soup was very bland. It tasted like miso broth, udon noodles and a few pieces of seafood. I ended up dumping the broth and added some soy, garlic and ginger. It was still pretty bland. Spouse spent $ 17.95 on shrimp teriyaki and got only a few pieces of shrimp. The teriyaki was ok but was on the bland side. It was a few pieces of shrimp, sauce served over white rice. The rolls were decent but not great. A step up from grocery store sushi. The best rolls were the Honolulu($ 10.95) Mango($ 9.50) & Tommy Roll($ 10.95.) Each roll gives you between 6 to 8 pieces depending on the roll. We decided we would give them one more try for sushi only tonight. Called at 8 and asked what time they closed and was told 10:00. Spouse showed up at 9:15 and they all had their coats on and said«Sorry we are closed». The place is not the cleanest either. Not sure how the kitchen is kept but the floors are dirty, the few small tables were sticky and there was an odor of paint. Would rather drive to Wantage or Middletown. Had such high hopes for this place. :( If you decide to check it out stick to the sushi and call and order ahead of time because they don’t keep normal hours. If you decide to order meals, don’t share! The meals are barely enough for one.

This store front, strip mall sushi joint is new to the tri-state area. Is the sushi top-notch? Not really. Is it a little over priced? Yes. Is the sushi chef a little slow? A little. Considering that I can actually get Sushi in the Milford area I LOVE it. By the way… don’t look for a Yuki Japanese Restaurant sign… The sign just says«Sushi Teryaki».
