Menard – Massillon

my wife and I spent the night at a bed and breakfast over in Bucyrus and decided to take the long way home. We came across Menards and have never been to one before being from the Cleveland area.
We were quite impressed by the variety of merchandise. And the cleanliness and how courteous the employees are. We decided to do a little Christmas shopping while there.
My daughter’s recently moved into their first apartment and we thought it would be helpful to buy them some basic tools (hammer, screwdrivers ect.) when we came across a pink tool set that had about everything they would need. Best of all there was a $ 10.00 rebate with it. Well needless to say we decided to buy it based on the rebate. We found the rebate slip and went home. A few days later I filled out the rebate for and put it in the mail. Two days ago I received a «Rebate» for $ 10.00 credit towards our next purchase. We live 50 miles from the closest Menards. Do they honestly think we are going to drive 50 miles to get a $ 10.00 credit? If the sign telling of the «Rebate» not credit was more clearly written, We would of bought else where.
This is not a poor review of the store in Massillon, but Menards in general. When I emailed their rebate department, I received a very cold and impersonal for letter. What poor customer service.
I would not be a customer of theirs if they open a Cleveland area store and I will tell everyone I know how they do business.

If you hate shopping at Lowe’s & Home Deport but need to make some home improvements then Menards is somewhat of a spin on both stores but a lot cheaper (at least their toilets & sinks are).
Unfortunately, my main purpose for shopping here was in hopes of finding a nice glass shower door, I have to say that I felt their bathroom shower options are lacking… not much of a selection & some of the doors seemed cheaply made. They also had a very small section when it came to vessel sinks but did offer a lot of beautiful drop sinks & vanity tops.
My company is very impatient so I didn’t get to explore the entire store but would be willing to go back & give them a second chance.

Menards isn’t exactly the same big box Home Depot/Lowe’s hardware store. This place is huge. If you’re looking for a tool/​widget that the other places don’t carry, it’s worth checking out Menards as they seem to carry a lot more variety. They always have special sales going on as well, so check you local paper for those deals.
