Unfortunately, this store seems to be run by someone who does not care or is hands off. The store is visible dirty with register areas very cluttered and disorganized. During my visit they were understaffed and the staff that was there seemed untrained. As a line piled up at the only register open to check out, there was no help by management. There was also a substantial line at the return counter with only one person working that station. You would assume that they have the managers tower elevated so he or she could have a better vantage point of the store. This should make it easier to help troubleshoot the store, but it does not. I did see an appearance from someone coming out of the office but she just saw what was going on and went back in her office. Perhaps she was not the manager, but by the way the store is run I would guess to say it was. I will be writing a letter to the company in hopes that they will get training in the store.

I read the other reviews before coming here for the first time. Despite other people calling it «ghetto» and saying«avoid it at all costs», I personally think that’s a bit extreme. My personal experience actually took me back to my childhood because I remember when my dad used to bring me to Toys R Us and just seeing the rows and rows of toys. It’s been many years since I’ve been to a full blown Toys R Us like this. Sure, some of the items were in a bit of disarray but I attributed that to being Black Friday(I didn’t go because it was Black Friday. I went because I was off from work). I found the staff to be friendly and helpful because were looking for something specific for my daughter and even though they were out of it, the gentleman was still super helpful taking us to section and looking hard for it. I appreciated the gesture and these are the kind of acts that keeps customers coming back.

Just went to this store and was so disappointed in the appearance and layout… Toys R Us needs a makeover in their stores… make it inviting… one good thing I have to say is that the lady that helped me after I told her I was buying gifts for children for Salvation Army donations was very very helpful… I did find everything with her help. I’m sorry I didn’t take her name so to tell her manager how helpful she was…

I’m really not a big fan of ToysRUs. The majority of my experience with them was at their Valley Stream store which is always a zoo, inside and out. The decore of the store is not very appealing at all… I find TARGET much more appealing from an asthetic standpoint and as far as price goes for a person with a limited income I assume I would get a better deal at Walmart. I’ll say it like it is… I grew up on FAO Swartz and places like that but in my adult life I have to watch my pennies. However, where Walmart does better on price, their aisles can be messy too and help there is almost non existant. Also take in to account the limited variety of items. So, the other day my wife & I walk in to the Massapequa Toys R Us and I knew what to expect. I figured in the end we would walk out disapointed. We were there to pick up a new Mario Brothers game for my son’s Wii but while we were there we decided to stop and look at bicycles. Someone had given me a fairly nice boys 20-inch bike for my son in almost new condition. So I took it down to Brands Fitness in Wantagh to get training wheels but I was told the rear axle didn’t have room for training wheels and by the time I was done getting a new wheel and adding the trainings wheels it would be close to $ 90, they suggested a 16 or 18-inch bike at about $ 200. I went to Walmart and saw the 2 or 3 bikes they had for $ 89 and then forgot all about it until we were at Toys R Us. So, we go to the bike secition and are met by a Toys R Us emploee named Clinton. Holy cow, this guy spent an hour with us letting my son try 6 bikes until he found the one he was comfortable on. He also took the time to explain how the bike and person should«fit» and the different features of each bike. I was in shock that we got real old fashioned bike shop service at a mega merchandiser like Toys R Us. If you go to the Massapequa store you have to ask for Clinton!

Incapable staff. Dirty store. Very trashy. Find another store. The return policies of Toys r Us is archaic. I will find the toy somewhere else and will not be sad when they go out of business.

Is it me, or does this place always look like ghetto threw up in here? This Toys R Us has been around here since I was a kid, probably even before I was born. I think that was the only time I’ve ever seen it not ghetto, when Service Merchandise was still next door. But, even then, it seemed as if it was already beginning to go down hill. I’m not going to lie though, over the many years of my childhood, I have gotten many things form this location including my first swing set when I was 3, my first bike, my first Nintendo, my first strap on skate, oh god the list can go on. As the years progressed, so did the toys. I’m going to be the first to admit, I’m always a kid at heart and… «I don’t want to grow up, because if I did, I wouldn’t be a Toys R Us kid!» So the last few times I came in here, I came to look for VTECH games for my baby brother; and more recently, for Wii games. Again, I have to mention that ghetto feeling in here. This«store» had barely anything within its four walls. You walk through the aisle and all you see are empty shelves. A few toys, here and there, but mostly shelves. Aren’t you suppose to be a toy store? I know there’s competition out there, but c’mon, are you going to give up THAT easily? I really wonder how much longer they’re going to last before some other business takes over their location after being there for more than 20 years.
