I came in with progressive somewhat hereditary lower back pain. What I came out with was a mostly psychological answer of how pain comes from unfinished cosmic business and live with it. No X-Ray or test because as he said, there are lousy MRIs and X-Rays that are from people with no symptoms. This guy doesn’t know me from Adam and tosses me a pseudo-psychological line based on Gestalt Therapy which he never heard of. How he calls himself a doctor is beyond me. Not only a waste of time, a waste of my intelligence. Do not bother with this guy, at least as a diagnostician, as a surgeon he may be fine, but I left amazed at how much time I wasted.

i went to see dr gonya because i was unable to walk up or down ramps/stairs and felt as if i were wearing cement shoes, a heaviness in my legs. also i had numbness in both hands. i had my surgery on 10÷27÷08. i went in to surgery about 9 am. that night, a few hours after the ACDF surgery, i was up and walking. i felt so good that i actually refused the wheelchair when i left the hospital the following day. i had two discs removed, c5/6 and c6/7, and two, for lack of a better term, lego’s put in their place and a plate screwed onto the front of the vertebrae. i went back to work, a heavy lifting job, at 10 weeks out from surgery. each time i feel as if i could not feel any better i do. i show improvement each week. honestly, i haven’t felt this good in many years and i have dr gonya to thank for it. besides being very professional, Dr Gonya keeps you very informed and a major factor in his favor is that he exudes confidence. i only gave him a five star rating because there wasn’t an option to give six! do yourself a favor and do not have surgery until you see him, if for nothing else than to get his opinion.
