I bought a «remanufactured» Octane Pro 3500 elliptical machine from the Gym Store three years ago(Jan 2013) and was sent the Octane Pro 3500XL which is a larger machine and did not fit our bodies. I think the XL is for people six feet and over. I live in Arizona so my husband and I did not want to send it back(we had paid $ 600+ for delivery and installation in our home). The elliptical was not working right so we had some technician look at it. That’s when we were told this was not the unit we had ordered. This story gets better. For over two years, my husband and I used the machine but hated it. Last June, my husband got sick and we both did not use the machine for several months. Finally, in May 2016, we stopped at a store in Scottsdale(At-Home Fitness Store on Shea Blvd.) and bought a new Octane Q35X. I had taken a photo of our Octane Pro 3500XL and showed it to Bryan, the owner of the store, and he told me the unit was at least 10 years old. When the new elliptical was delivered to our home, I was told that the elliptical from the Gym Store was build in 2003 and it was 13 years old. Mike at the Gym Store had told me the machine was 3 years old in 2013 — big difference! Now, instead of being able to resell the used machine for a good price, I was told it would not bring much. I sent two emails to the Gym Store requesting that they refund some of my money. So far, I have not heard from them. I would not do business with the Gym Store again. They misrepresented what they were selling and took advantage of the fact that we lived 3000 miles away. The White glove delivery people were terrible. They let the machine sit in front of our front door all afternoon because they did not know how to bring it in. Finally, someone else came and struggled to take it in our home. It was not a pretty sight. In May 2016, when At-Home Fitness Store delivered our new machine, it was a piece of cake. They brought it in on a dolly and in no time they had it in the exercise room. They were true professionals. As for the Gym Store I gave them a 1 star but, actually, they do not deserve any! I would not recommend anyone to do business with them especially if one lives out-of-state.

Took a leap of faith and ordered a reconditioned spin bike off their website. Ultimately I am very happy with my purchase, the bike is in great condition and I got it for nearly 50% less than a new model. Hooray! Five stars for the item itself. The three-star rating here is reflective of my customer service experience. I placed my order and followed up a week later to see where things were at, and I was told that it had not been processed because they had a question about a difference between my bill to and ship to addresses. It took another week and two additional customer service employees to clear the order for processing. At that point they told me it was going to take another 3 – 4 weeks to ship the item, because it hadn’t been sent to be reconditioned yet. I had to point out that on the website the ship time listed for this item was 2 – 3 weeks, and at that time it was nearly at the end of week 2. In the end the customer service rep working with me was able to expedite the processing and the item shipped at the beginning of week 4 from the time my order was submitted. tldr– if you need very timely service you might want to reach out early and often to make sure your order gets processed as soon as it’s received. That was a real downside to my overall experience. I’d definitely do business with them again, but not if I absolutely needed an item by a certain date.

Reason to go/went: Friend Recommend After I destroyed my first elliptical from Sears, I wanted a commercial grade elliptical. but a brand new commercial elliptical was out of the question. Shopped around and opted for a «Commercial Refurbished» elliptical from The Gym Store. I called up and spoke to Christopher who sold me a Lifefitness 9100HR. Basically what these guys do is buy used equipment or manufacturer resells etc. The Machine works great at a great price. Guys were very professional came to my house dropped machine off, I was worried about them scratching my wood floor but they got it in and out like magic. I got a great service at fantastic value from The Gym Store.

I purchased a spin bike. The bike not only came damaged, but they sent the wrong spin bike on top of it. After dealing with their customer service for over 4 weeks trying to get a replacement bike, I had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge and I still have a broken spin bike sitting in my house taking up useless space and they refuse to pick it up. I’ve contacted them several times and attempts at resolving this have been ignored. Will probably have to throw it out soon if they don’t contact me to resolve this.

Gym Store is a great place to go to get commercial grade equipment at a fraction of the cost. I went down to their warehouse and met with their salesperson Mike, who was very knowledgeable and helped me through every step with setting up my personal training studio. He helped me get flooring, lockers, custom remanufactured gym equipment, as well as brand new gym equipment for my studio. Now I have one of a kind equipment that with the same colors as my Studio’s logo. My equipment also came with a 1 year parts and onsite labor warranty, plus telephone tech support. I will definitely be returning to Gym Store as I plan to expand my studio soon.
