Lovely, well-maintained park. My daughter is too young for most of the playground, but enjoyed her first time in a baby swing. Many families there on a Thursday at lunch time. Passed by nice basketball and tennis courts. Snyder Pond in the middle is a nice feature. We enjoyed sitting under a shady tree looking at the water and ducks. There are shelters with shade and picnic tables for people to eat. There are two playgrounds. We were at the bigger one closer to the pond, and everything looked pretty new and safe. All the kids were having fun sliding, swinging, and climbing. There are small paved trails for walking around, which would be nice for a stroller. Ample parking at this time but probably crowded when there’s a game in the field.

Best playground around. My daughter loves this park. Nice pow memorial as well and a little lake with an island on it. Very cool play ground that is safe and nice restroom facilities.

If you’ve ever wondered what the perfect park for an extended family with small children and elderly folk looks like, this is it! Cottell Park was designed for the family in mind; situated in Deerfield Township where there is no shortage of nice suburban families, there is a huge playground, a lake, tennis courts, a nice walking path, large green fields, and picnic areas. It’s well maintained and very well manicured and along the walking path around the lake are little games that ask your child to use his/her brain a little, which can be a nice change for parents. Since I do not have kids however, I find that this park can be overrun with short people, especially around the 5~8 time frame on weekdays. Literally overrun. Do beware though, the grasses here have tons of fleas which love four legged creatures. Mine loves grass and he’s rolled around in Sharon Woods plenty of times with no fleas. Not sure what’s up with that! The best part of Cottell Park is, while they have tons of family friendly events and outdoor movies during the summer, right across the street is a patch of land(about the size of the park) that Natorps uses to plant sunflowers. During the summer and towards the end of summer, the entire field is a small orchard on one side and the rest is sunflowers. It’s an amazing picture opportunity, and there are plenty of suburbanites that flock to the field for those pictures!

Visited this park recently, and I’m definitely a fan of the play structure. First of all, there are two entrances on Irwin Simpson. The first that takes you past the white house(which I believe houses an Art non-profit, which also looks interesting), will take you to tennis courts and basketball courts and a pretty standard playground. The second entrance leads you to a parking lot and a way cooler play structure complete with climbing ropes/spider web like structure, rocks, swings, various different slides, etc. This structure is definitely great for anyone whose child loves climbing! There’s also a pretty lake to walk around. The bathrooms were clean and tidy.
