I like the atmosphere of this place, and some of their seasonal beers are really quite good. The regular rotation of beers is okay, but I wish they had some of their darker seasonal beers available more often. I’m also not a fan of the annual mug club membership model, but that seems to be the growing trend. I do have to say that Good Bites, the food truck that’s affiliated with this place, provides great food. It’s worth a visit just to have the food!

We came here on a locals recommendation and it was amazing! I had a cider that was great and refreshing. Then switched over to a flight which was great. I had their 3x IPA which was like an IPA wine it was amazing super full of flavor and not much bitter backlash. I also had their regular IPA which was a nice easy drinking IPA. My favorite was the nitro stout which went down like a nice milk shake. The people are super friendly here patrons and servers. They have some food but not much but you can bring your own. We got the hot fresh chips which were super tasty.

Don’t let these random bad reviews spoil the fact that this is a great place. Take in mind that it’s a brewery, not a restaurant or pub. They have beer and beer and more beer, that’s it. Staff was friendly and knowledgable, beer is cold and tasty. Mug club is pretty cool bc you get to keep your mug if you don’t want to renew the next year. Great location, the small town atmosphere brewery vibe is perfect for them. But don’t take my word for it go check it out on your own. Cheers!

This place has good beer. But if I had to rate this place on customer service, I would give it a negative 5 stars due to the customer service of a female bartender. I have lived in Los Angeles for a number of years… came here to visit for a wedding, and I have experienced some«unpleasant service employees.» In Southern California… well this gal took the cake. We won’t be going back there even if the brew was good. To the manager or owner… hire better staff. You will make much more money and people will come back. Remember… For every customer that had a great experience they tell 1 person. For every customer that has a bad experience they tell 10. Get rid of the hobo and bring some class to the joint.

We tried about a dozen of their beers and have to say they were all amazing! This is bring your own food, but if you’re looking for a great brewery would definitely recommend it.

Rudest red headed waitress EVER! I’m here with family for a wedding and we have kids with us. I asked her if they happened to have high chairs and she looked at me like I was an alien! Then Proceeded to yell«No!» We don’t have high chairs. It was incredibly rude and just bad customer service all around. F this place!

An ever-changing rotation of new beers, seasonal favorites, and standbys… great atmosphere, fun staff behind the bar, and there’s a food truck parked out back that will take your order right from where you sit. What’s not to love?

Pretty good beer for a great price, good service. My girlfriend and I got 11 samples for just $ 18, pre-tip, which is a great deal. The beer club is an awesome deal, but we live too far away to become a member. Together, we had Brothel Brown(4 stars of 5), Belgian Tripel(4), Sticky IPL(3.5), Super D’s IPA(3.5), Zeelander Rye Pale Ale(3), Kraken(3), Hop Resolution(4.5). My girlfriend had the Raspberry Wheat, Chocolate Covered Coffee Brown, the cider, and the saison, all of which she seemed to enjoy. What keeps this from being a 5-star brewery is that, for me, the Rye and Kraken did not have a good mouthfeel — it was on the watery/runny side. The Hop Resolution, however, was outstanding. Now that we know what we like, we’ll be back when we’re visiting lansing!

Talk about your diamond in the rough. You wouldn’t expect a little brick hole in the wall in the middle of little mason to have a craft tap room that would rival any in hipper locals. It is a great place to just chill and read, with a lot of plush seating in quiet corners. The beer selection was good, with a lot of different flavor profiles from IPAs to good porters and stouts. They’ve solidified my business and recommendation.

Bad Brewing will always hold a special significance, as it’s where my now-fiancé and I decided(over some tasty brews) where to live together. Nostalgia aside though, BBCo still deserves five stars. It’s not often a microbrewery could honestly be described as «quaint,» however, the quaintness of Downtown Mason seems to rub off on all of its small businesses. I loved the ambiance of the poured concrete bar, which lent it a clean, industrial feeling. We were welcomed by a top-notch bartender who was very attentive. There’s plenty of parking and, if you’re feeling adventurous, a helmet discount on Sundays I believe. We walked away with a growler that we will certainly be back to refill.

Bad Brewing combined with Good Bites food truck is a culinary sensory cornucopia that must be tried to be understood. Good Bites is the best food in Mason. They are usually behind Bad Brewing in the alley.

BAD is a great smaller brewery and easily the best in the Capital region. Daily pours include their selection and a nice rotation of seasonal and specialty offerings — check out their double IPA if it’s on tap. My only gripe? Limited food service. You can order in, or check out the the Good Bites truck(pretty solid) that services the bar. Only drawback to the latter option? You’ll have to pay two tabs.

About the only reason this place doesn’t get five stars from me is because they don’t serve food. This is a pure beer-drinking spot, but a good one at that. If you stop by once a month it seems like there is always some new brew to try out. That is a good thing.

Fantastic little«hole in the wall» type place. Zero acoustics, but that’s OK. Just go here and have a few! Worth the trip from wherever you are. Great tasting IPA’s

I’m not a big craft beer guy, nor am I a beer snob. I’ll drink anything, so take this review with grain of salt. I’ve been itching to stop in to Bad Brewing for a while. I’ve heard good things. A buddy and I went in around 8:30 this past Saturday and got a table. The place is compact. Not small. Compact. Great atmosphere. I ordered a flight consisting of their Brothel Brown, No Stout About It, Super D’s IPA, and Cascade Amber. Here is the simple rundown: Brown: not bad Stout: pretty good IPA: not great Amber: loved it. Order a pint. Sorry, I don’t get deep and flowy over beer. I can’t speak to a beers fruity undertones or hoppy qualities. It’s beer. Thumbs up or thumbs down. Bad Brewing gets a thumbs up.

Bad Brewing is an okay beer house. They’re not really a bar(no liquor) or a pub(no food). The locals are very friendly here. And the service is good; last time I was there the beer-tender let me borrow his phone charger(nice guy). The only reason I give it such a low rating is the beer, frankly, isn’t to par with the competition(and the competition is stiff in Michigan) and they don’t offer any other services(like food and booze). As a place to swing into and kill time in Mason: Bad Brewing is 5 stars, as a brewery Bad Brewing doesn’t pull it’s weight. I hope Bad Brewing does well and I’m sure I’ll be back the next time I’m in Mason and the time after that. But, their isn’t much to do in Mason besides Bad Brewing(honestly).

I’ve only been here once but I had a good impression. First off, they actually use a nitrogen mix on their stout, which gives it the creaminess I love about Guinness but it has more flavor than a Guinness. I was thoroughly impressed with this stout. I also tried their nutty brown, which was a special brew of the moment(month? season? I dunno), and it was very nutty but very very good. I ended up taking home a growler of the Amber and my wife and I really enjoyed the balanced flavor. It had a bit of a hoppy flavor while not being too sharp so it’s a great beer for those who like that. Give ‘em a shot and try a beer flight. They are a lot like a homebrewer on steroids, but you can see the work and passion they put into it.
