I have always had the«ho hum» attitude towards Payless. Kinda a «you get what you pay for» with regards to quality and service, until today. When I walked in, I was almost immediately greeted. I asked what their return policy was and received a very thorough explanation of it. Then, I was asked if I had any further questions. When I told her I did not, she proceeded to ask me what I was searching for today. I told her that I was purchasing a gift for someone that was the reason for my initial question on return policy. She showed me the style and selection that they had according to the specifications that I gave her. She helped me pick out what she thought were the best with what she had. Double checked sizes to make sure the sizes in the box match the box also. I continued shopping for myself? While she took what I wanted as a gift up to the front counter. While I was shopping? She approaches and says that she took it upon herself to check surrounding stores if the size I selected was not right. She also indicated that I am free to return at any store. I found what I wanted, I showed her the text message coupon that I had and without hesitation she wrote down the corresponding numbers and gave me the discount that applied. I was very very very impressed with this young ladies customer service and professionalism. Stores in general need staff like this person. I was very impressed with how she floated around the store helping several other customers who came in what seems in waves. She was always professional. She was always pleasant. And because of her and how she carried herself as the representative of this store, I will return. The young ladies name that I had the privilege of being waited on is Mary. Please seek her out.
