Attic Secrets Tea Room

I’ve been going to this tea house since I was a little girl, I even had my baby shower there. The food is delicious and the scones are definitely the best in the area, same with the tea selection, all available decaf! The staff is über friendly and eager to please, highly recommend for parties or even just lunch.

We had 5 of us ladies each from areas of the U.S. Snohomish, Spokane, Southern California and Boston. We purchased living social deals and made reservations early to ensure we would have a place saved for us. When I made the reservation I mentioned to the person on the phone, Kelly, that we had purchased these deals and intended to use them during our visit and she said that would be just fine. Upon arrival to the Attic Secrets we were so excited because it was adorable! We were 5 women looking to enjoy a quaint experience and relax and get to know each other and bond over what was a new experience for most of us. We were dressed casual and ready to just enjoy the experience. The environment has so much potential! We were initially impressed. We checked in with the staff and we were directed to pick our a tea cups from a lovely selection. It was nice albeit unsanitary to realize how many hands have likely touched each cup as the selection is browsed (we overlooked that issue), of the cups that were chosen 2 of the 5 cups had chips in them which presented the possibility of cutting yourself so we opted to return those cups to the shelf for an exchange. When we were seated, I was sure to let the server know that we had purchased, I said erroneously, «groupon» deals, but then corrected myself and said and presented the coupon as a living social deal. Either way she said it didn’t matter that they would not honor both coupons unless we separated tables and ROOMS. She was very sure to mention multiple times during our visit that we had called it a Groupon deal and it was in fact a Living Social deal. They also refused to honor both deal. She offered to seat us at different tables in different room??? HOW in the world is this an acceptable option! I then stepped away from the table and spoke with her regarding the phone conversation and there was NO compromise. Our server was very condescending when addressing our situation. Eventually, we were able to get everything properly organized and get our order taken. Our meal took about an HOUR before it arrived at our table after ordering. Time really was not our concern because we were just looking to relax and enjoy each others company but there was really no good reason that this meal should have taken an hour.
The meal:
1. The soup was really good
2. The meal was definitely not proportionate to the cost of the meal
3. It was not served in a timely manner.
4. One of my friends ordered a scone which was AMAZING! I ordered one to take home with me because it was THAT good. — I admit gudgingly because I was so displeased with the service and the ethic of the establishment. A notable mention also, this scone should have been served at the beginning of the meal along with the Tea not with all the food all at once.
5 The TEA… NOW a tea place SHOULD know the proper way to brew and serve tea! I have to admit the FIRST cup of tea was WONDERFUL– I had the Hawaiian Orchid and it was YUMMY– again the FIRST CUP WAS YUMMY– HOWEVER PROPER BREWING OF TEA IS A MUST or tannic acid will develop and the flavor will tarnish and become bitter WHICH IS WHAT HAPPEND! I am not an tea expert but one of the first things I was taught regarding tea is that you must do it properly in order to prevent tannic acid from developing and destroying the flavor of the tea. Tannic Acid is the reason so many people think that they do not like tea.
You should NEVER leave your black tea leaves in the water after more than 5 minutes!!! We were served large tea pots full of lovely yummy tea with tea leaves that NEVER left the water therefore the tannic acid had no choice but to taint the the flavor and experience of a beautifully flavored tea. Our first cup of tea was lovely but each one consecutively got more bitter and made our mouths dry and was unpleasant. Then the server came to our table and offer us more «HOT WATER», I didn’t understand this, but soon I came to realize that she was bringing us a refill of HOT WATER TO POUR OVER THE TOP OF OUR already used and depleted tea leaves that had been steeping for about an hour. I was baffled. When I inquired about this, it was apparent that this was standard practice for the facility and that they were «FLUFFY NOT STUFFY». She ACTUALLY said those words to us repeatedly! Well, «We are fluffy not stuffy». We were shocked by this response because well it was very apparent that we were not at all stuffy or fluffy. We were just a group a casual friends wanting a fun yummy tea experience. We felt she was referring to us as being STUFFY and also prior experiences that we may of had that would have been a stuffy experience. When in actuality only 1 of the 5 of us had ever been to an actual tea room/​high tea service. This was my my first experience with a high tea service, I will NEVER be back to Attic Secrets Tea Room BUT I do hope to have another chance to experience a real true high tea.

Love this tea room. Four of us had tea on Sunday, April 10 and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Reservation was for 2pm and it was very busy so we had a bit of a wait. Only two servers (first day for one) but they were very attentive and apologetic about the delays. While we were waiting for our tea to be served we looked around at the adorable tea room items for sale.
If you’re in a hurry and don’t make reservations this is not the place for you. Fast food joints are down the street. But if you want a relaxing quality tea room experience this is one of the best.

Oh my goodness this place is adorably wonderful! Or wonderfully adorable. We drove 40-​ish miles to check this place out. We had pots and pots of green tea. I believe it was the strawberry green tea and the tropical green tea. We’ll come back to check out some more. There was just so much variety of black, white, green, oolong teas. I’m sure I’m missing a few other categories.
Please make a reservation so that they will have what you need. Food is freshly prepared so you win, and you making a reservation helps them win to help you win. Everyone wins: D. We didn’t have a bad experience when it came to reservations. Just passing on words since we showed up without one, but they still made room for us. This venue hosts parties so it’s only fair. Plus, they can guarantee that you will have a scone prior to your meal.

Came here to celebrate a special even and felt embarrassed for choosing this venue.
Ny reservation was at 2:15; we waited over 15 minutes until finally asking to be seated.
It took several more minutes to receive any attention and when we finally were able to select our tea from the wide variety offered, our server brought our pots of tea and left without providing cups! I had to get up and stand near the kitchen in order to request tea cups for our tea. After almost an hour, we were brought our Serenity tea treat, but only for one when we ordered for 2 people. I even asked, «Is this for 2 people?» and was told yes.
When our server came adter several minutes, I asked if this was the serenity tea for 2 (we did have 2 pots of tea) and again for at least the third time, apologized abd brought another serving of treats.
The scones were delicious and my friend enjoyed her Jasmine tea. However, I will not be going there again.

Called and left message to make reservations but nobody bothered to return the call. Took a chance and went anyway but was told the empty tables were reserved. Told the person behind the counter we tried calling but nobody called back, she left and came back and told us she could only sit us for 30 minutes. Very POOR customer service. I wish I could give you negative 3 stars. Tsk! Tsk!

Love coming in here! Food is good and the tea selection is great! I recommend the apple crisp it is delightful on a cold day!

What a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy tea. The food and atmosphere was wonderfully pleasant. Definitely a place I would visit again!

First off, the table we reserved was now going to be used by a birthday day party so too bad for us. Then they got our reserved time wrong. As always, service was extremely slow (soup not available so was just sandwiches, salad & tea). Service was good to keep hot water coming and she was very nice. Something is amiss here and I’m sad to see it go downhill. I know they are under new ownership since last spring (another post) so maybe they just don’t have things down yet.
At any rate, I’m done.

Just had Christmas Tea with Santa today. What a great tea room. Great food, atmosphere & wait staff. Highly recommend, will be going back.

I took my little sister here for tea and it was great. The little tea sandwiches were a perfect lunch and we had a great time. Perfect for little girls!

Just came back from a good afternoon tea with my daughter. We enjoyed it so much, and she can’t wait to go back. We ordered Serenity Tea, and the sandwiches and desserts are delicious. The scones are perfect. The staff was very friendly too.
It took us 1 ½ hours to get to the place, and it was all worth it.

I came here a few weeks ago for a girls day out with my mom. The tea room was relaxing and our experience was so enjoyable! We had the house tea, and it was delicious! Our server was very kind and had recommendations, as it was our first time in. My mom really loved that there was jewelry and little gifts to buy at the store, so we did some light shopping for out of state family before we left. Overall, I would highly recommend checking this place out!

We were very disappointed. We have been here many times and have always had a wonderful time. From the moment we walked in on went down hill. Being greeted by a grumpy employee to just warm tea water to sandwiches that were dry. They didn’t have enough staff. Waited a long time. We won’t be back.

So disappointed. Smells awful and was carpet was filthy.
The entire place looks messy and disheveled.
We would have left, but my granddaughters were so excited about having tea, so we stayed.
We stood at the entryway for at least 3 – 4 minutes waiting to be acknowledged while two employees have heated conversation about something to do with the kitchen.
Finally greeted, we are told to get a tea cup from a shelf by the register. There were only a few sad tea cups to choose from, and I did not like having to choose from cups others had handled. The tea was fine, but our various food items were quite awful. Nearly inedible.
The tea sandwiches were really bad, and the few deserts were not much better. This was a very expensive and extremely disappointing experience. Nearly $ 60 for ok tea and very little, quite awful food. Will never go back.

I personally wasn’t too crazy about this place.
my sister took me and her bridesmaids here for lunch and I had a great experience because I was with the people that I care about but it’s a place that I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to again.
we walk in and we were seated and it was so cold in there that we had asked to turn up the heat after repeating how cold it was serval times and we said it loud enough in hopes that the hostess would come over and accommodate us.
the host was very quiet wasn’t really personable. she didn’t really smile wasn’t very welcoming
we asked to be moved into a different room because again how cold it was.
it took about 30 to 45 minutes just to get our food I don’t understand why it takes nearly an hour to get our sandwiches because that’s all they serve there that and salad.
There was only one other table with people at it and only two people at that table so its not like it was busy for us to have to wait that long.
I will say the food was very very good but definitely won’t go back.
There was absolutely no music so it was very quiet and awkward I didn’t really get the tea theme it looked very cluttered and unorganized

Good customer service. Food is pretty good too. Took my 9yr daughter there twice. Think she really digs the sugar cubes. The desserts are delicious. We will have her bday party there with 2 of her friends. It’s a very cute place. Salads a huge and sandwiches are tasty. Lots of little cute gifts too. The teas a wonderful. Would totally recommend this place!

I came here with my Grandma and was very impressed. The inside of the café is adorable! Staff was friendly, but a bit slow at times. I ordered the turkey, cranberry, and cream cheese half sandwich which was delicious. I will definitely come back.
We did go on a Saturday when it was pretty busy. They do take reservations and would recommend doing that during peak times. I agree with other reviews that they should change their wording regarding asking if you have reservations as it felt we were a bit of an inconvenience. I still rated it 4 stars as we were still able to be seated.

I held my daughters 6^th birthday party here and had a great time and experience. We reserved the 2 back room areas and had about 20 kids, plus 10 parents. The staff was
WONDERFUL with the kids and adults. We were not rushed in or out, we always had full tea and juices and the food was great. They did special little cupcakes for my daughter, it was really perfect. My youngest daughter wants to have her 5^th birthday party here this December.
I also frequently visit for lunch or high tea, it is always great.

I went to a fundraiser event being held here almost a month ago and had such a great time, I decided to have a Valentines date with my friends. We had such a blast and really switched up our normal starbucks get together. The tea selection is huge. There’s something in there for even the most pickiest tea drinker.
We had Strawberry summertime green tea and Green apple green tea. The tea cups are adorable. We chose scones and finger sandwiches to go along with it. The lemon scones come with a spread and are delicious! This place would make the perfect mom and daughter date. They sell their tea also so I picked up the strawberry tea to enjoy at home. On a side note I think you need to make reservations for Fridays and Saturdays. We found out the hard way.
