Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill

My first time here, it was the holiday season. Night before Christmas Eve. My coworker and I showed up slowly after midnight and they close at 1:30 am so we knew we wouldn’t have much time.
He ordered a drink with peach schnapps and I got the monster cup of a beer which was on special that night for v$ 4.50. Total came to $ 11 plus tip. While waiting for a drink, another male asked my friend if he was what smelled so good? It was awkward. We found seating even though it was packed. Plenty of girls around wearing practically nothing. Last call was 1 and you had to get out by 1:30 when they close. There is smoking allowed inside so if you don’t like that, this isn’t the place for you. The overall atmosphere is nice. They had music playing so loudly that it was hard to hear my friends sitting right across the table from me! They also had free beer pong going on downstairs. My friend was disappointed though due to their earlier closing hours and expensive single shots ($ 7) when he’s used to Illinois state bars open all night and no more than $ 4 a shot.

Menu isn’t the same for Happy Hour food menu is not limited to 1 topping pizza, 4 wings or burger. Everything else is full rate. Also it is EXTREMELY SMOKEY

Food and pool were good, service from the ornery waitress in our area, next to the pool tables on Friday, July 24, 2015, must have either had something against us because we played pool or she just plain decided she didn’t like us. We were mostly ignored, met with a somewhat bothered and «whaddaya want :/​» attitude, and then again ignored even though we were ordering food and drinks. I normally tip very generously because I know waiting tables sucks but I really don’t feel like it when I see our waitress smiling and carrying on with the rest of the waitresses, and some of her preferred tables, but then treating us like we were bothering her by being there. The people behind the bar were mostly talking to and serving their regulars, walking right past me and my friend while we waited and watched them serving certain others but not us. Only exception was one very nice lady behind the bar, kind of tall and dark haired with a nice smile. I don’t expect anything amazing from a bar but y’all should at least be kind to all of your customers.

We went to Hot Shots on Dorsett Rd 5÷30÷15.
While we were there 6−8pm, we observed several disturbing things… apparently this bar is managed by teenagers…1. Waitress and bartenders doing shots repeatedly with customers. 2. Waitresses boyfriend in the bar kissing all over her, grabbing her butt, rubbing his face in her boobs and both of them yelling profanity at eachother and other staff for probably 20 min. 3. My drink (captain & diet) tasted horrible! I doubt I even got real captain morgan and the soda was flat & bitter tasting.
We ordered hot wings & fried pickled which were actually good. The service sucks. We sat at our table for approx 10 min before being acknowledged by wait staff. Our waitress was mildly attentive for the duration of our visit. This bar needs Bar Rescue (TV show) badly.

We walked in here for lunch because we didn’t have a lot of time. The inside of this place is your typical smoke filled restaurant/​bar. The food was quite decent and the service was great but the smoking part just killed it for me.
For appetizer we ordered the traditional hot wings which were not spicy but they did have a lot of meat on the bone and were pretty good.
For the entrée I ordered the blackened fish tacos which were topped with pico and slaw. The tacos were very good, tasteful and very reasonably priced.
My buddy ordered The Fisherman sandwich which he said was also pretty darn good as well. His sandwich was topped with cheese tomatoes and lettuce, you know, the typical ingredients that you find on a battered fish sandwich along with tartar sauce.
If you are in non-​smoker you will not like this place because of all the aroma that is in the air but if are a smoker it’s great.
They do have a few arcade games (Golden Tee), pool tables and darts. Their happy hour is pretty good as well.
If smoke does not bother you then this would not be a bad place to eat with your friends but I do not recommend this place for families.

Old wore out, carpet is nasty, food is subpar. Girls are nice tho, that’s why it gets 2 stars

Good bar food, sandwiches and wings, never had a bad bar meal here. Always a good lunch crowd with TV’s for the Blues & Cards games. And of course… the friendly waitresses.

I would normally love this place and I have been there may times to watch games and play darts. But I no longer think my boyfriend and I will be going up there anymore. He went up there on Friday night for drinks with his friends. He had a $ 25 tab that he opened with the server. When she swiped the card, it automatically put a $ 50 charge on his card (he was not told this was happening). The next day he looked at his bank account and the double charge was there. He called and spoke to the manager who said this is a new thing that Hotshots just started doing. Just not telling customers about it. He said that it should be back in his account on Monday. It is now Thursday and Hotshots still have not returned the $ 25. I find this completely ridiculous and I am pretty sure it is illegal to keep his money for that long. BEWARE! Do not open a tab with the server!!!

I really enjoy this place my friends an I go here during happy hour and the service and food is always really good! We know a few of the people so that makes out for the best experience!
The cowboy burger is great! And also they have great happy hour Prices. I personally don’t smoke but if you do, that is the place to go. That is allowed:)

The bouncer and server were incredibly rude. I was DDing and my friends didn’t even have the opportunity to drink because they hated the bar so much.

They have Great food. Hot chics :) Fun people. Great atmosphere. I’d recommend checking it out. Especially on the last Wednesday of the month they have customer appreciation day :)

Waaayyyy too smoky for me! Which is a bummers yo, because their food is really good and they have a lot to do here (pool, darts, etc).
I live within walking distance and would go all of the time just out of convenience, but I just can’t get over the thick cloud of smoke when you walk in. And I don’t want to wash my pants afterwards, because, as we all know… pants? Pants never get dirty. Well, they do at HotShots on Dorsett.

OK, I’m uprgradng them because they let me smoke inside, but the Ninja Burger is excellent, the beer is cold, there’s hard-​rockin’ music, and I’m watching the Tigers. If they win, Hotshots will get six stars.

Such a great place to go for happy hour or any other time of the day for any other reason. My MeetUp group had a couple events here and I have to say, I love that HotShots has so many things that you could do! With us being a large group, there isn’t enough room nor does everyone want to do the same thing. Here, you have darts, pool, you can watch the game, or select some of your favorite music to jam to. The food is decent and my beer is always frosty cold, so I can’t complain!

Hotshots is always a good time. The food is what brings me back in time and again. I love their wings and fries. This is one of my more favorite locations. The wait staff is good, and the cooks are right on the money here. As is my complaint with all Hotshots is they are smoky like whoa. It almost ruins the experience for me. If it was smoke free I bet I’d be here 2 – 3 times a month.

Best time to be had watching games here, love the Staff, especially the thin Spanish cupcake that seems to get a joy outta harassing me. Smoker friendly that’s for sure, lots of flat screens everywhere and two pool tables. Great spot to be a regular at

Since this place is in my neighborhood, I’ve been back a couple of times. I haven’t seen much more evidence of their Hooter-​esque waitress hook that I reviewed earlier, but that’s okay. What I have noticed is that I have received some pretty good service here, and the food has turned out to be some tasty bar fare.
Hotshots has found a place in my universe as a good sports bar to soak your long day in. The patrons are a good bunch, and it’s not annoyingly obnoxious as some sports bars can be.
Good burgers. Which is actually what I have named my love handles.

it is your typical sports bar. always seem to have something going on to keep the people in bar and not leaving. Got really good hot wings, pizza is just ok, other apps are the normal bar food. Waitress was very good with keeping up with her area.
