Steak ‘n’ Shake

5 servers all standing around and legit taking their own sweet time. Bad bad service, the place is filthy. When our server came and greeted our table after she walked past us at the door where we stood for 10 min without even being greeted, she says «sorry I walked past you guys I was out until 4 am and had a two hour drive» ummmm I’m just trying to eat lunch with my two year old, my niece and my sister. I don’t care about your partying nor does it have anything to do with the fact that I’m here, at a restaurant, to eat.

This place does not deserve one star. I’m guessing they do not have managers on duty ever. If they do they need new ones. Young kids letting other young kids bring in food from other restaurants. Almost every table needs bused. Our waitress decided to go outside instead of waiting on us. The only thing going for this place is that there are not many places in Martinsville to eat.

Poor service cold food nothing close to what it even looks like on menu. Waitress was extremely rude and very very slow. Go to the place next doorframe better food and service!!!

Waited at drive thru for 5 min with no one ever speaking through the intercom. Ended up driving away.

Horrible service. We walked in and the manager was teaching an employee how to use the POS while we stood at the front for about 3 minutes before seated. There were dirty tables everywhere. That manager should have been bussing tables and seating people instead of training the employee on Saturday lunch rush. We were there for over an hour. The servers congregated behind the wall socializing instead of taking care of tables. The time we were there the place mostly cleared out but the service still suffered. My boyfriend stayed to wait on a shake and the check while I was in the car for 15 minutes and saw two tables walk out during that time. I think u need some new management. We will never be back to that steak n shake.

My husband and I went on Sunday evening. I’m pregnant and was craving a Frisco melt. However, the employee couldn’t hear my order through the drive thru speaker so she had me place my order at the window. Therefore, we had a 20 minute wait. Once home, we had cold fries, cold foot long hotdog with toppings all over the inside of the box, and my sandwich was not what I ordered. Not to mention my sweet tea was not sweet and his shake was so melted it was more like strawberry milk.

Megan is a great waitress. She always gets our order right. The cooks could use some work. Our fries were cold and they seated us next to a really large group of people and then they were unable to get by us to serve the other table. Food was good with the exception of the fries.

Well, I usually have good experiences here, but tonight was not the case. After our food came, our table was forgotten about. I had to get up and get my own refill, servers kept walking right past our table and never even looked our way. When we went to pay, the manager started making excuses as to why our table was ignored. And, our server never apologized or offered refills when she came to clear the table. She did try to make excuses, though. Paid the bill. No tip. Sorry. Tip is earned income and no one earned it.

I typically only go to Steak ‘N Shake only during happy hour (2 – 4 PM) for their half-​price drinks and get a milkshake. This time was no different. I ordered the shake at the takeout counter and it was ready in less than 3 minutes. No complaint there.

It was fine. They brought us burgers and shakes. Regulars received better service than my family, but the regulars were on oxygen tanks, so… you know. Understandable.

Was Just there and had the worst experience ever, we ordered the single bacon cheese burger and fries, my wife’s burger was great but mine was left plain, I was like what the, wheres the toppings ! Just a burger with hard dried cheese, and crumbled pieces of bacon, and that was it ! no nothing, and I did NOT ask for it PLAIN or Cold even.
The fries where either WAY over cooked, or were cooked again to re-​heat them. they had a burnt oil taste and and broke in half and crumbled when I stabbed them with the fork. It was like eating the old can of potato sticks, fresh out of the microwave .They even for got the sides of ranch and cheese.
To add insult to injury, we were the only two people there, so it wasn’t like they were to busy to get it right.
After complaining about the quality of our order, they almost didn’t take it back, they said that after it has reached our table, we had to pay for it whether I eat it or not, but I stood my ground and refused to pay for what I was not going to eat, then they finely took it off.
