We were just passing by after a bike ride… we were spent and the sun was already pouring it on full blast. We entered to find a charming restaurant /ice cream shoppee. The ice cream was amazing and we regretted having lunch on the trail and the opportunity to eat one of the burgers we saw parading past our table. We will definitely be back.

Went back again on Mother’s Day, 2016 with my wife and my Autistic son. Sat in the main area this time; it wasn’t too crowded at 6:00PM. This time I had the squash soup and it was as good as all the other reviews say it is. He had the chicken tenders again and were as good as before. My wife had the special chicken taco salad, I had the special pulled chicken BBQ sandwich. Both were very good but I was surprised by the pinkish color of the BBQ sauce on the chicken. She had the brownie with ice cream. All good. When the weather finally gets warmer, we’re going to try out the deck.

A wonderful restaurant that has delicious homemade soup(must try the butternut squash) and a nice variety of entrees. I have been here several times and never left disappointed. Their chicken quesadilla and French onion burger were both extremely flavorful and filling. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Absolutely amazing homemade ice cream!!! Probably the BEST in the country, yup, there I said it!!! I’ve had SF ice cream, ice cream up and down the east Coast, ice cream overseas(France, Belgium, Shanghai, Beijing, Greece and etc…) and I have to say, Gabriel’s beats them all in terms of creativity, quality and consistency. My husband grew up around the area, so when we visit our in-laws, Gabriel’s is a MUSTVISIT for ice cream. All their stuff is HOMEMADE and you can taste the quality and love, I know… it’s amazing but love has a taste in the form of Ice Cream! Some of our favorites are: Scarlett Knight Spongebob Raspberry Truffle Emerald Dragon(only had it one summer, have yet to see it return, but oh it was delicious when it was here) And pretty much any other flavors they have, you can’t go wrong!!! And plus, the service always comes a friendly smile and genuine niceness.

Amazing ice cream, and amazing service. We visited on Valentines day, and the staff were all extremely helpful. We sampled a few flavors, and eventually decided on the birthday cake and raspberry truffle. We will be back!

We had a family birthday party there for our one year old granddaughter yesterday(the day after Christmas). They are so hospitable and accommodating. The Sicilian sandwich was great! Staff and service were wonderful and the setting is so nice for a party! Thank you Al, Marilyn, and Alex for another great party there!

Gabriel’s Fountain has a solid selection of lunch items to offer… Including a weekly specials menu offering something different to jazz it up. First impression while walking in… Felt like I was walking into my friend’s grandmothers house. I’ve tried various items on their lunch menu from the calamari, Cobb salad, chicken sandwich, veggy sandwich, burgers, pizza, to their non-fat ice cream. Food is 3.5 stars. Quality is good and portions are decent. Some of my favorites are the Cobb salad, chicken sandwich, fish and chips, and their onion rings. I wouldn’t recommend their fajitas, quesadillas, or pizza as they are pretty bland and nothing spectacular. Some items are great while others are typical of what you’d find at a diner. They offer an excellent selection of ice cream(as well as non-fat ice cream) made in house. I love coming here for lunch in the summer time! I haven’t been to Gabriel’s for dinner but what I can say from their lunch service is that they are sloooooooow, as in the waiter service and also cook time. Staff is pretty friendly but it hasn’t brought me back to Gabriels since I stopped coming because of the slow service and okay food.

The best burger! Plus their honey mustard and chicken fingers are definitely worth the visit. On top of a menu that offers good options, they make the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Always craving Gab’s!

I was looking forward to trying the ice cream here after reading a lot of the Unilocal reviews. I didn’t have high hopes for the food here, but I decided to try it anyway with my girlfriend since a few of the reviews did speak very highly of the food. We arrived kind of late for dinner. around 8 or so. The place actually had a really nice appearance – both outside and inside. There was a long line for the ice cream, but the restaurant area was completely empty. I probably should’ve taken this as a clear sign to get food somewhere else, but I was hungry and decided to chance it. We ordered the skins, cheese steak quesadilla, and one of the burgers that was on the specials menu. The skins were overall pretty bad. The outside was tough and tasted like it was reheated. The bacon bits tasted pretty good(but it’s bacon and that is to be expected) while the cheese was tough and definitely not melted recently. The cheese steak quesadilla was only okay. nothing special. Basically just about what I expected it to be like. The burger was alright too, but it came out really overcooked compared to what we requested. I also found it very difficult to eat(literally). It was pretty big(which is usually a good thing in my book), but it was one of those burgers/sandwiches where everything tends to fall out of the opposite side that you bite from. I ended up having to wrap my hand around the back of the burger while eating it, and it got really messy. Despite my best efforts, the avocados kept falling out because they were cut at an angle. The burger also came with sweet potato fries. These fries were actually delicious and by far the best thing I ate during that dinner. The outside of the fries produced a slight crunch while the inside was soft and full of flavor. After dinner, we ordered a pint of cherry vanilla and a pint of caramel truffle ice cream to take home. Both ice creams were amazing. They made the trip totally worth it. The cherry vanilla had small bits of cherries throughout. I liked those a lot. The ice cream was soft and smooth, and you could definitely tell it was homemade. The caramel truffle ice cream was even better than the cherry vanilla. It was obviously sweeter because of the mixed in caramel, so it tended to lessen the relative sweetness of the cherry vanilla when going back and forth between the two. This ice cream also had little caramel truffle bits mixed in which were insanely addictive. Overall, the price of the food seemed too high for the quality of food we received. The prices of the ice cream were also a bit expensive, but it was totally worth it. We will definitely be back to try other ice cream flavors, but I have no desire to order food from here again. The food gets a 2⁄5 while the ice cream gets a 5⁄5. Overall score 3.5÷5

This place is fantastic! Most family-operated diner-type places fall flat in some way. Gabriel’s was perfection. Where do I even begin? The food was great! We ordered cheeseburgers, sandwiches, sliders, wraps, and quesadillas. Everything was fresh and tasty. The burgers were cooked exactly as requested. Best fries ever! Even the little container of coleslaw was amazingly fresh. I’m guessing it was homemade from scratch. The delectable ice cream tasted homemade too. They offer lots of nifty flavors. Try the blueberry cheesecake. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive. Even though we were a bunch of dusty, slightly sweaty hikers, the staff seemed happy to see us stop by and were eager to make sure we had a great experience. The ambiance is wonderful. You can sit indoors, in their charming sun room, or as we did, relax outside on their deck overlooking Washington Valley Park. If all the parking spots in the front are taken, drive to the back of the restaurant. They have a large parking lot in the back and a second overflow lot when things get very busy.

Absolutely amazing homemade ice cream. I consider myself a bit of an ice cream connoisseur and he coconut almond chocolate chip is SO good. The sizing is always a bit different(sometimes a small is one little scoop, other times it’s a huge cone), but the lack of consistency in size is never reflected in the ice cream quality. I grew up about 30 minutes from Gabriel’s and will drive there still to grab a cone or a pint. Though I’m a dedicated lover of the coconut almond chip flavor, the black raspberry truffle and cookie dough are good options if that isn’t available.

My hubby took me here for a snowy Valentine’s Day date. This place is known for its ice cream, but they do serve lunch and dinner. The dining room is large and there are outdoor tables and chairs for the warmer weather. I believe that they have an upstairs dining room and possibly a downstairs area. Service is excellent here; the staff makes you feel like you’re a guest in their home. We ordered salads, french fries, and ice cream of course. Everything was delicious, especially the homemade ice cream.(Please see my photos for more details.) Can’t wait to return when we’re in the area again and enjoy the outdoor seating area.

The quintessential family restaurant. Established in an old Victorian mansion with an attached solarium, a brick patio full of umbrella-ed picnic tables, and a downward-sloping grassy backyard, Gabriel’s is an ideal lunch destination with kiddies in tow. The food(simple items like burgers, wraps, salads) is so-so(driving my 3-star review), with sweet potato fries seeming to be a big hit here. Best of all, Gabriel’s has an expansive selection of fun ice cream flavors, many with«mix-ins»(chunky over smooth ice cream any day for this girl)! The service is casual and moderately-paced. Disclaimer: As a childless 20-something, I’m not Gabriel’s target audience. I imagine if I were, I’d be quick to assign a 5-star rating! The building itself is whimsical, the lawn allows kids to romp around pre– or post-meal, food is simple and kid-friendly, and, well, Sponge Bob ice cream.

Gabriel’s serves lunch and dinner, but I’ve only been there to get their ice cream. Because their ice cream offerings are totally LEGIT. Soft serve? Yes. Plenty of hard serve ice cream flavors? Yep. Waffle cones? Sure. Chocolate-covered waffle cones? They’ve got it. Sprinkles? Hell yes. When it comes to options, Gabriel’s just CAN’T be beat. One day, I’ll come in and give their lunch or dinner menu a shot. But that means there will be less room for ice cream, which I’m not sure is EVER an option.
