My wife and I enjoyed our meal here. The waitress was very friendly. The food was amazing. We were hoping to hit the buffet since we like to try a variety of things but on Saturday there was no buffet. Instead we had the samosa chaat appetizer. It was delicious. Just a little bit of spice and the cilantro chutney was so refreshing. For the main course we shared the lamb vindaloo. You can pick how spicy you want it. We opted for medium as we were not sure how hot they would make it. the meal comes with a choice of naan or rice. Since we were sharing we ordered it with rice and I got a side of the garlic naan. It was just right. The lamb was tender and the sauce had great flavor and spice. The garlic naan was delicious. Overall we were very happy with our experience.

I love Indian food, so when we saw a review in the Hagerstown paper we decided to give Spice Connexion a try. I love Chicken Ticka Marsala, but I like it very spicy. I asked for it very spicy and it was(on my scale) only medium. Waiter brought me some extra heat when I asked for it. Food is very good, location is a bit odd, in a shopping plaza… but hope they make it. When we were there the(I assume manager) was training a new waitress. The training lessons were very loud on what to do and a bit inappropriate during dinner service to have him explain how to wipe off tables. shhh… the entire restaurant is not very large and dinners here all the comments. The Chef did come out to thank the dinners for coming and I appreciate that effort. We’ll be back!

My husband and I have found a new favorite restaurant in the region with Spice Connexion opening in Martinsburg. We have traveled a good deal, enjoying Indian restaurants all over(including DC’s renowned Rasika) and this place is up there with the best! Prices are very reasonable for the portions you receive. The inside of the restaurant itself is lovely with hand-painted India-inspired murals on the walls, a giant overview board of Indian spices, and high-quality tables & chairs. The staff is always friendly; we have both enjoyed eating-in & takeout. We always really appreciate the consideration they take with wrapping orders for take-out. Each container is individually wrapped to avoid spills & keep in heat — you don’t see that kind of care often! You absolutely must try the Palak Chaat appetizer! They make this dish very light and not greasy with a mild yogurt sauce. The vegetable samosas are also a delicious appetizer. I am a vegetarian and usually order the Malai Kofta as a main dish — the tomato gravy and dumplings are fabulous! My husband has ordered the majority of the chicken dishes and his favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala. Don’t be afraid to order medium spicy — it’s not overwhelming.

I went here with my mom while I was visiting her last week and it was really amazing. We got the spinach chaat appetizer, which is a house special, and it was fantastic. My mom got the eggplant and I had the tandoori paneer and both of them were really excellent. The wait staff was very nice and helpful, and it’s really convenient that they are open Sundays(probably one of the only places in town). They also do takeout. This is a great addition to Martinsburg!!!

We were driving by on route 81, craving some good Indian food. Looked up on Unilocal and found this amazing little place. It is a little hard to find but definitely worth the extra effort. We decided to try the buffet and were very impressed with the quality of food. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes were both great. I loved the lamb curry and chicken tikka, while my wife(vegetarian) really enjoyed the kari-pakora. The spinach sabjee was excellent as well. They served fresh hot masala tea as we finished the lunch. The rice kheer was excellent too. Though it was a buffet, John was very attentive and served us hot naans/tea/water. The owner/chef Rawat jee stopped by and we chatted a bit about his food-philosophy. We were impressed with his attention to detail in preparing dishes, and the extra effort he puts in to provide dishes you would normally not see in other restaurant. I definitely wish it was closer so we could enjoy the food frequently, however next time we drive on route 81 we know where we are eating!

Super delicious. As an avid Indian food fan I was thrilled that I found this restaurant. It was a bit of a search since it’s well hidden. Tucked away in a strip mall but well worth the effort. The Paneer Korma was delightful. In fact Everything was yummy. Great addition to the area.

Hard to find, on side of BWW strip mall. But worth the search! Quality of food could compete with Fredericks market! Insanely delicious. I ate so much, I just couldn’t stop. Fresh and great service too

I have been a regular 2 – 3 times a week since opening day an if anything, the food has improved from its former excellence. It is well worth getting onto your cellphone map to find this restaurant tucked away in otherwise depressing Martinsburg Foxcroft malls. It does not have an upscale décor but you can wear shorts in summer and be amazed at how cheap it is. The chef will greet you cheerfully sometime during your meal and the waiter and waitress service is excellent. Regulars here have formed a sort of welcoming committee for first-timers, giving a friendly smile and maybe a suggestion if you are looking for one. There is a great buffet every lunch hour(except Monday closed). And you can take out the buffet at something like $ 4.50 a pound to have your favorite main dishes, rice, corn fritters, nan, raita, chutney, rice pudding and add chili sauce for more heat, mint/cilantro sauce for green color. Thoughtfully, the buffet has a complete selection of vegan food as well as chicken, goat and fish/shrimp. This might be one way to start — or you could be more adventurous with the full menu of cooked to orders. In the full menu, I am vegan and especially like the dried spinach as an appetizer, the Beatle nan and potato/cauliflower dry curry but you could be much more adventurous. Just one word of warning: food is cooked to order with fresh spices ground in, so of course it will take about 20 minutes to cook. Another word of warning: Portions are very large. Treat yourself and try this great food!

So happy there is Indian food here. The food is good and so is the service. The buffet is small but flavorful. It comes with free masala tea. I’ve ordered take out a couple of times and it was great and packaged well. I like that you have the option of rice or nan. Most other Indian restaurants give you rice with each meal And naan is extra. The only improvement that I would suggest is for their appetizers — they should be dry even if they are fried. Need to work on appetizers not being greasy. But everything is delicious.

Affordable, friendly and absolutely delicious food. Some of the best Indian fare you will find in the tri-state area. Pakora, samosa, tikka masala, lamb vindaloo are all highly recommended

Excellent food! Wonderful little hole in the wall with staying power! One of my favorite finds. Place is a little difficult to find all tucked away toward the back of a pretty spare mini mall behind Martinsburg mall! If you want excellent Indian cuisine… then this is the place for you. The wait staff are quirky and kind! The chef is definitely into his art and good at it!

Amazing food cooked home style. The buffet has a great selection available, it includes the yummy chai(tea) and a dessert. The restaurant is clean and staff is polite. During your meal the Master Chef will come out to greet and make sure your food is good.

The atmosphere was nice, the food was good, I ordered spicy lamb kabob, it was delicious, the lamb was cooked nicely, and had a nice char on the outside, and the inside was cooked nicely, very juicy, but it didn’t have the kick I was looking for. The tomato soup was delicious, it was well spiced, and had a very nice flavor The staff was very nice, she was more than willing to help in any way, and was mostly attentive to our table. This is a very good Indian food place, and would recommend it to anyone. It is the only Indian place around, however is pretty delicious.

I was a regular at this Chef’s previous restaurant, East India House. I saw this place open and have watched the murals come to be beautiful works of art and the staff move from inexperienced and rude to highly experienced, accommodating, and friendly. They seem to be well-trained. The ambiance has changed from whatever it had been to a classy, but casual setting. I have always recommended the food there. They have mild, medium, spicy curries all of which are delicious. If it’s too spicy, ask for a lassi, which is a yummy yogurt smoothie type deal. If it’s not spicy enough, ask for some of chef’s special hot sauce. They have a lot of house-made desserts as well including rice pudding, Indian ice cream, and carrot pudding, all of which are good. If it’s not too busy, ask about the meanings behind the murals. I have been told about Jackie the Tiger, who greets you as you enter. She was a pet of the Chef’s and has such an interesting story. The other mural is of the area the chef grew up in, the middle farm being his family’s. Give it a try! I guarantee you won’t be disappointed! If you want to take your kids, please make sure they behave as the staff cannot both provide excellent service and babysit. It’s disorientating to other guests as well.

You really should stop in here… Please. It’s a great place, but it’s tucked away in the back corner of a plaza and not enough people are finding it. The buffet is small, but full of flavor and aroma. It’s a bargain too… I stop here often.

My wife and a couple of friends went here a few nights ago and were pleasantly surprised. The food was really good and very cheap. Atmosphere was lacking but service was good. I’ve eaten a lot of Indian food and this was very good. I had Butter Chicken and my wife had the Lamb Rogan Gosh.(Not sure if I spelled that right). Both were very tasty. We had the garlic naan and regular naan and it was excellent. Oh and we also had some Samosas which we also enjoyed(a little spicy but that’s the way I like them). So all in all its a good place to eat and something different for a change.

I have been working my way through the menu from this restaurant since they opened, but I have always gotten take out until last night. Let me qualify this five star review by saying that I am reviewing this place for what it is: a casual, cheap restaurant. They aren’t trying to be a upscale, trendy place with top notch décor and fine dining service… but you won’t be paying those prices. The restaurant is more along the lines of a food court style vibe in décor, and although the prices may be along the lines of a food court, the flavor is top notch. Every meal I have ever gotten here has been outstanding, not to mention ridiculously affordable. Last night we ordered two orders of naan, two bowls of tomato soup(which was outstanding), a lamb vindaloo with rice and a lamb biryani. The total for that, including two drinks, was $ 32! It was also more food that we could finish, and I’m not exactly dainty. Every dish we have ever ordered has been delicious. That perfect Indian flavor of being very heavily spiced, but without being overly hot. For those who are like me and want hot vindaloo that is really spicy, they will kick up the spice level for you if you like. Last night was the first time I tried the tomato soup, and I could easily eat it by the quart. Those warming Indian spices with a creamy tomato soup just worked great together. I have seen a lot of complaints about the service, and while the poor overworked girl did her best last night, the place was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday, and she was stuck taking take out orders over the phone, ringing up the take out for people picking it up, and waiting the 6 tables that had people at them at the time we were there. All things considered, she did a great job and was very friendly and courteous. They definitely could use more help to lighten her load though. It took a bit for our food to come out, but not too long considering that a table of six had ordered right before us and that there were probably a dozen or so take out orders we saw in the hour that we were there. Even with all that, the food came out relatively quickly, and for as great as the food is in taste and price, I wouldn’t have minded waiting longer if I had to. Great place, and I can’t wait to go back.

So happy to have discovered this little gem! I ordered takeout for dinner tonight and was not disappointed. The chicken tiki masala was wonderful and my mom raved about her tandoori vegetables. Next time I want to try chicken curry and the potato naan. The restaurant was almost empty when I went to pick up the food. I probably wouldn’t dine in but it’s definitely a FANTASTIC take out spot.

Well… like most I was very happy to see an indian restaurant in Martinsburg! We went in June and whilst the service was lacking(muddled and confused) the food was excellent. However, we visited again at the end of June and it seems to have slipped again. Food was greasy… the Samosa was oily and due to confused servers, was incorrect then cold. Gave it one more go last week and… well, we won’t be going back I’m afraid. Such a shame. It started out so positive, but I think the service is killing the place. In my opinion, change the wait staff and you may climb out of this downward spiral you are in… don’t, well… we’ll wait for the next attempt at opening an Indian restaurant.

Mart9nsburg is not known for a thriving ‘mom and pop’ restaurant environment and it’s always exciting when a new independently owned store opens up. The Indian food offered here rivals the best Indian food I’ve had in the Wash DC/Northern VA area. Chicken vindaloo and butter chicken were very good. Portion size was adequate in size. The Beatles naan was great. Ask Chef about the Beatles naan. Will be sure to try something different with the next visit!
