Went today and got my flower petal undercut. Rick did an amazing job. Well definitely go back.

Rick Zamora greeted me upon arrival and was very friendly and professional. He took time and effort to ask me what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. These men were great, we found them on Unilocal on a family trip to Martinez. My 2 year old and my fiancé both got hair cuts, they did a great job and my fiancé even got his first barber shop shave (he loved it). I left my purse there in the shop accidentally some how (mom brain) and an hour later we called the shop (they were at lunch naturally) so we waited for them to return and promptly got my purse back all in tact of course! So nice to visit these small family owned businesses.

It is THE SPOT to get my fade every time! Been going there religiously for years and am always treated with love. Vince has skills with the clippers!

I have been going this place for the last year and they are great. I usually get seated immediately, parking is usually good. It’s all men cutting hair which is the way a barbershop should be. They seem to enjoy it and they know what they are doing.

Excellent for little boys… our son got his hair cut by Ricky in a race car chair. Our son also got SF Designed in his hair cut… Very cool

My son got a Mohawk with SF design by Ricky & my husband got a Mohawk with TC design by owner Vince. Great service, great cuts, great first time haircut price! Plus they had a cool race car barber chair for my son to sit in & gave him a free toy after the cut was over! Very satisfied with the experience overall. We will be back! Thanks gentlemen!

Went in about a month ago on a whim just looking for a quick place to get a cut. Boy was I impressed and lucky to happen upon this place!
Guy named Ariel Ceja did a great job. I was very pleased with his ability to take the few preferences I had and style the rest with ease.
And all for only $ 15? $ 5 tip easily earned. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll definitely return.

I am unhappy about my service at martinez barbor shop. To start the wait for a hair cut is usually very long due to lack of employees and the owner not being present. The shop also has posted hours on the window which Vince the owner does not abide by. I went there on 5 seperate occations to get a hair cut and the shop was closed even though the shop hours suggested otherwise. Very unprofessional business that goes on in that shop and I would not reccomend to anyone. Also there is a lot of vulgar language that occures when I am in the shop with my son… That is not ok in my eyes. In conclusion if you go to the martinez barbor shop you will be dissipointed.

I came in today and Vince cut my son Mateo’s hair and it’s a fresh cut accompanied by excellent customer service. Not to mention the friendly atmosphere and toys for the little ones after their cuts. I will be bring my son back soon! Sometimes it’s worth it to give a place a second shot and in this case it was! Thank you guys !!

I took my son here to have his hair cut. Awesome job, friendly service and great prices. I would highly recommend it for both kids and adults. The owner is awesome with kids. My 4 year old son even got to pick a toy after his cut and my two patient daughters were greeted with lolly pops. Thanks MTZ Barbershop! We will be back.

Moved up to the Bay Area 8 years ago for college from Santa Ana… and last year tried out Mtz Barbershop since its down the street from work, and I got to say finally found a spot that reminds me of the neighborhood joints from back home growing up.
Vince, the owner was very welcoming the first time. The atmosphere is dope, always bumping tunes, laid back and chill (an underrated part of the experience).
Their work is legit, I always come out with a clean cut. They take their time and they take care of you. The barbers also don’t hesitate to ask questions or make recommendations about your choices. You’ll definitely be satisfied. highly recommended.

Best barbershop in the East Bay. Nothing against certain shops in Oakland but you can get a cut of equal quality for half the price with little to no wait — if you time it right. Waiting for a cut is no problem either as the atmosphere is always friendly.
Vince is a star, holding down an independent business in a downtown core that needs more people like him. Both he and Omar are talented professionals who work to build community as well as keep heads in town well-​shorn.

This is a great barbershop. Everyone should have a barbershop that they go to. The service is friendly and welcoming and it has a very cool barbershop vibe.
I’ve been getting my hair cut here for years and won’t go anywhere else.

This is a legit barbershop, all barbers are knowledgable and friendly. The shop is big and has great seating area (comes in handy especially on tuesday when cuts are $ 10 and place is pack). I’ve been to almost every barbershop in the area and this one is the far best my #1. My barber Omar always does a great job with my cut, especially with my fade. Its well lined up and clean.
Wait time is usually around 30−40mins but they have a TV with good movies and sports.
If you want a shorter wait time call ahead for an appointment.

After searching for a legit barbershop, I have found my home. All of the gentleman here (especially my barber, Vince) know how to cut hair. They are experts who take their profession seriously. The Martinez Barbershop not only provides solid cuts, but also a positive barbershop experience. They spend significant time on each cut; I get a 1 to 3 high fade, and it is a 30 – 40 minute process. While it may seem long, the result is perfection. I will not get my hair cut anywhere else. Period.

Forgot to shave this morning before jury duty so I Unilocaled barber shop & found these guys. Real nice shave; hot towels, close shave, lotion, even a shoulder rub. A «mani-​pedi» experience for manly men. Give it a try, great way to start the day.

Like his Dad, my son grows his hair out the point where wild strands stick out or fly away. At least he has a full head of hair, while I’m left to ponder avoiding looking like Donald Trump. And to complicate things, his Mother is of the «You Need to Let Him Discover His Own Way and Not Interfere» School. Gayle is a great tiebreaker between the 2 Parents. She’ll just tell him to go get a haircut and he’ll immediately comply. No buttons to push here!
Recently after a nice couple hours at the Boys and Girls Club or Martinez, the Kid agreed that it was time for a haircut. The Martinez Barber shop was close by and off we went. We entered to a shop full of young men with already short hair wanted almost skin tight trims. The sound of hip hop music and maybe a little friendly «hood» energy filled the room. All this in Downtown Martinez? My son just shrugged his shoulders, advised me on this aspect of today’s culture, and told me to go feed the parking meter while he waited his turn.
The wait moved quickly and our barber did a really nice job in taming (and significantly shortening) my son’s hair. And at $ 15 (Cash), I thought it was a heckofa deal. Most importantly, he was happy with it and he looked good!
