I have been in this store many times over the years and don’t expect great service but a bare minimum would have been nice on my last visit on September 20^th, 2015 at around 2pm. First I was not sure they were open as the Open sign above the door was off, but went in after I noticed the door was open. The woman behind the counter did not look up or great me as I entered so I just found what I wanted and brought them to the counter. I had to great her after she started ringing be up thinking that would get her to look me in the eye and acknowledge my existence but no such luck. Either she was having a very bad day or needs more customer service training.

I usually love coming here and the girls working are nice and helpful, except for today. I walked in wanting to get a tan and the girl behind the counter was chatting it up with some woman while her five kids were running around outside as she kept cussing at them. It took a while to get her attention as I was ever so patient so she could finish her mindless conversation. She then asks me if I need anything as if I’m bothering her lol. I got my tan but I really wish the manager /​owner would hire more mature, professional looking women (in regards to this particular girl). When she entered my info on the computer, I could not help but notice that this girl looks like she’s 12, and is wearing a huge chain around her neck that says «Barbie» (I’m being serious). Its like come on, if I’m ever interested in beauty products, her attire and attitude would totally put me off and I would avoid ever asking her for any suggestions. Otherwise, the other girls are great and always greet me on the way in and out of the store :)

Like the changes I’m seeing ! …at least I thought I saw some changes, but really the carpet in there? Seriously? I’d be embarrassed if that were my business. The carpet is filthy with huge spots and holes.
For anyone looking for tanning beds… I WOULDN’T recommend there. It’s seriously been years since the owner has changed out the bulbs… waste of time & money !

Amazing customer service! Thanks Natalie for going the extra mile and special ordering the hair color (purple) I needed. I know it was just luck that I was there the day you guys were ordering product, but still getting what I needed within a couple hours of stopping by was wonderful. I was able to do my hair that night and it came out great. Thanks also for the advice on the bleach!!!

Can always find what I want here and never any requirement that I be a ‘professional’ in order to purchase.

I love this place! They always have the OPI colors I am looking for and more. I get everything I need there to do my Mani&Pedi at home. Prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly. I believe they also have tanning and a salon but Im just there for the prouducts!

YOUR SOURCE FOR EXTERNAL BEAUTY
Real beauty comes from within. But it’s fun to keep your body beautiful also, and places like the Beauty Source have all sorts of products that you can use to do so. I used to frequent the Pleasant Hill store because I lived nearby, and this was my first time in this location. I noticed that Cinco de Mayo is in this same plaza. (I see lots of check-​ins here on Unilocal Mobile) and it was literallty the Fifth of May ~ Cinco de Mayo! But we had just grabbed Burger King across the street and were on our way to a French Festival near Petaluma, so no more food. What I did need was an alligator clip for my hair and a hair comb. Well, a pick really. (slightly smaller than a comb)
Even though we didn’t see any employees upon entering, husband found both items for me and with little hassle we were back on the road again. Neither one was very expensive but I spent enough to get another punch on my frequent buyer card. I love that you are rewarded for being a return shopper. Beauty Source is fun to walk around from time to time. I usually stop in before Burning Man and get some wild colors to low-​light my hair with.

I wanted to dye my pubic hairs orange for a giants tailgate party so I came here looking for some orange pube dye. The lady behind the counter was very helpful. Her name is Candiss. Candiss was very knowledgeable about pubic hair and dye so she recommended a great dye product. I went home and immediately dyed my pubes orange and it turned out great! Go giants!

The ladies at this store are always helpful and sweet. The prices are great and with the $ 10 off cards, you can save quite a bit.

Beauty Source + Groupon = overflowing polish collection O_​O
Nestled between GNC and Ian’s Yogurt — I visit practically every week for a polish haul with the «$ 8 for $ 15 worth of product» Groupon Now deal. The friendly saleswoman is a bit slow with the Groupon process, so give her a moment, or 6.
The location has a good selection of polishes by OPI, China Glaze and Essie for the usual $ 7 -$ 8 prices, BUT… if you go the the back discount table, on the left corner, you’ll find my favorites…
THE 50% POLISHES!
I’ve bought Seche Blanc, OPI and China Glazes for $ 3 — $ 4 each from that basket. There’s tons of other discounted merchandise on the table too, but I have only bought polishes.
A bonus is the employees are friendly and helpful and they don’t watch you like a hawk when you open a polish to see if it’s a jelly or a crème. :)

THEY HAVE OPI COLORS HERE!!!
They also have a really cool system for where if you spend $ 10, they punch a card for you — upon a certain about of hole punches, you get either a percentage off or some dollar figure off your purchase.
They had tons of stuff here, it was a little overwhelming for but, but the lady at the counter was super, super nice.

i stopped by this place on my way home one day to pick up a curl enhancer for my hair. I went in the store and got instant help from the associate. She asked me what I was looking for and suggested a product that I eventually bought. In the end I wasnt happy with the product, so I took it back. I was able to return it and try another product. This place has really great customer service.

This place is totally weaksauce. The girl helping me was absolutely no help at all, she told me that my hair looked like crap and that she couldnt tell me how to fix it and that she was apalled I even paid to have my hair look that awful. I left feeling miserable, with an ugly dyejob and no help at all. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Its hands down the worst experience I have ever had in a beauty store.

I used to go here for tanning, and also every couple of months or so I’d go pick up simple men’s basics– shampoo (Nioxin or Tea Tree, usually), conditioner, and hair gel or styling paste. Unfortunately, this place has gotten pretty friggin po-​dunk. (Maybe it always has been and I’m just now starting to notice…)They put different prices on bottles of the same product… For example, I picked up a bottle of Nioxin a while back and was going to buy it, until I noticed the exact same stuff, same product, same packaging, right next to it for $ 3 less than the bottle I was about to buy. God knows how many times they got me in the past with that funny little trick. Ha ha, joke’s on me… Also, lots of products have literally thick layers of dust on them… who knows how long some of this stuff has been sitting on the shelves.
I may still go back for tanning if I have a decent coupon, but no way would I buy any of the products on their shelves.

This store was a big disappointment. The tan rooms were dirty. The staff acted like we were really interrupting their chit-​chat. I have gone to the Pleasant Hill location for years but this is diff not the same. No more for me, I’m back to P. HIll!
