Needed front brakes and, after calling around, decided to go with Alhambra Auto Center (in the Chevron gas station near Safeway) and, boy, am I glad I did.
The quote that they gave me was spot on; didn’t try to charge for «additional repairs;» and the car was ready before the promised time. The guys here were nice, respectful, honest.
I cannot more highly recommend this establishment!

Brought my Acura MDX into these guys. The battery needed a jump to start and I thought I needed a new alternator. In my mind I was planning on a $ 400-​$ 500 repair bill.
He checked it out and determined it was a blown fuse. He did an inspection of the car as well (it needs a few other things) and charged $ 95. He could have easily taken advantage of this situation.
On a previous visit he did the front brakes for $ 225. The Acura dealer wanted more than twice that price.
It is almost impossible to find an honest mechanic. He will be getting all my business from now on. I really appreciate this shop!
