Dat hollandaise doh! A few of my current coworkers have recommended this place to me with a heavy push to the eggs bene since I love it so much. I finally managed to drag my post-night shift, half-awake self here. It’s an older looking restaurant on the inside. It reminds me of an old diner with the metal led/wood table top seating. Ordered the eggs Blackstone, which is the Bene but with bacon instead of ham. So. Delicious. It’s like you bust the yolk and mix it with that to die for hollandaise and heaven sings with joy. It was everything I wanted it to be. Service was okay. I eat alone so it’s not like I expect people to be extra chatty. It’s whatever. I did like that the food came out super fast. A bonus considering I was holding my eyes open with paper clips by that point post shift. I’d eat here again.

This is my favorite breakfast place throughout the south shore. Service is great and the food is amazing. A personal favorite is the corned beef hash eggs Benedict, but everything I’ve had there has been delicious so it’s a hard choice. I would recommend to anyone in the area. One warning before you go: it gets really busy over the weekend and is small inside so sometimes you have to wait outside.

I came here for the first time about 2 months ago and had a wonderful experience and tasty food. However my last experience was not too great. Could hear kitchen staff complaining about the order. And goofing around. And received my mac n cheese cold. Got it microwaved and was still cold! Not sure id go back.

This place still looks the way I remember it as a kid when it was The Mug n Muffin, so the nostalgia factor is high for me. Nice place to sit and stay awhile when it’s not too busy. Had the burger and mom had the french toast on a recent visit. They were both delicious, but the french toast was really impressively good. I wasn’t even in the mood for breakfast food until I tried a bite of hers. Burger was good though, don’t get me wrong. Just the kind of burger you expect from a place like this, looked hand formed(read: probably not a pre-made patty), and they hit the medium well right on the head. Not over cooked but still juicy. The home fries are great, I think they also do bottomless coffee.

Quality of ingredients may not be the best, but, Speed is then name of the game! I’ve never had faster service. Each time I come I tell myself I should pull out my phone and use the stopwatch feature to see how fast they truly are… Zoom!

Best breakfast place in town. We’ve been going here for years and even after trying other places, still come back to the mug every time. We only get breakfast food here and it’s really the best around. Eggs, omelets, bacon, French toast and pancakes are the best, you won’t be disappointed. Pretty much all their breakfast menu you won’t be disappointed. It gets packed on the weekends but you usually don’t wait longer than 15 min. It can get weird though if there’s a lot of people waiting because they’re eyeing you at your table as soon as your plates are cleared and you feel like you have to get up right away. Other than that this place is the best!

I have been here 3 times over the past two weeks, and I can safely say that it is nothing special. One SOLID menu item are the eggs benny, now that’s good(omit the nasty ham steak for me). They give you three poached eggs while most places give two, and they serve up some yummy holly sauce, worth going for that for sure. I figured I’d start off with the good… now onto the gripes. The boy got the New England breakfast the first time we went, and I was SHOCKED at how small the portions were, a 5 year old could have easily wolfed it down! Two baseball sized pancakes, a small portion of scrambled eggs, two sausage links, and one piece of toast that was cut in half… Ummmm really? I’m not trying to act like it’s all about how much grub you get, because it isn’t, but seriously that’s a joke. He ordered the EXACT same meal on another occasion(not sure why) and he got two plate sized pancakes and just a larger portion of food in general. They are fuckin yo yo, like it depends on who the line cook of the day is apparently. The food itself, aside from the eggs benny, is just mediocre at best, nothing special on the menu, extremely basic breakfast fare. You can go down the road and have an EPIC meal for just a little more money and everything is super fresh, very quality ingredients, is delish, it’s consistent, and has a killer menu!!! Now that I found that hidden gem I won’t be frequenting here often.

Great local breakfast joint that’s served hearty breakfast fare and bottomless coffee for more than 30 years. Even my Daughter and her Princesses loved it.

This place is honestly great. Their prices are pretty low for the massive amount of food you get. Comes out quickly as well. I’ve been going here for years!

Perfectly adequate place for the area, it looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 60’s but that is part of it’s charm. Prices are decent, food is okay, service is friendly, come here for a meal that will be fine if not great if you’re in the area.

A mid-range diner located a the strip mall in downtown Marshfield. The prices are decent; $ 7.95 for the hungry man breakfast — 3 eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns, and toast. Or the New England breakfast for $ 6.50 — 2 eggs, pancakes or French toast, bacon or sausage. The hungry man wasn’t «wow», and I prefer hash browns grilled(crunchy and slightly blackened) but these were orangey which means the potato had soaked up most of the grease. The French toast was decent, The restaurant is a little out dated(ahem, an understatement…) with dark wood paneling on the front /back walls and white drywall on the side walls. The chairs are the old wooden captain style; comfortable but not attractive. There were 4 girls at the hostess desk standing around(training?) an when I went up to pay none of them asked how the meal was or even said«hi». Just an observation… Overall it is a ok standby if you don’t want to cook, but if you’ve got the time drive 5 min north to Strawberry Faire(a little more money) in Norwell or 10 min south to Water Street in Plymouth(same prices, but probably has a line). Extra tip(no extra charge): had a one night stand and the girl won’t leave without being fed? If you sit with your back to the kitchen the sun glare from outside will only allow you to see her silhouette. Or, did you overachieve and want another hook up but don’t want her to realize that she is in the majors while you are struggling to get into the Cape Cod League? Switch seats…

I have been going here for years and the breakfast is always great. It has an outdated look but it’s clean. The waitresses try to get you in and out quick but not a the point of being rude or anything. The food comes quick and tastes great. The prices are reasonable. There is usually a wait but it really moves fast. This is a typical«local breakfast joint» and I will continue to come back here.

THEBESTBREAKFASTPLACEEVER! This place is awesome! I always get two fried eggs, homefries, and toast. The homefries are delicious. I have moved out of town but always make a point to stop at the mug when I’m around. And I’ve brought several friends from out of town and it’s always a highlight of their visit. There is usually a little bit of a wait, but it moves quickly. Also, the waitresses can be kind of short with you, but it doesn’t matter because the food makes up for it and they get it to you quickly. Also, in regards to the post below, I have never had rotten potatoes. Don’t listen, go to the mug!

Holy Rotten Potatoes. Every time i go i find one hiding under my hash stuffer. My family never likes when i have breakfast with them here. Misery. I have to rein in the comments, but yes dirty glasses, dirty silverware. Old fryer oil. i order, take two bites and whoa! Its so seldom i go here i sometimes forget that i became woozy each time i try. Like this morning, with a lousy beer hangover, a coca cola and hash stuffer. 2 bites, I spy rot paired with the breakfast gossip words…“she has 4 baby daddies” I was suddenly hot and dizzy and headed for the ladies room. The coca cola is great. The waitresses i have to hand it to them i would choke someone out-its all Marshfield locals. Please stop serving rotten potatoes. The hollandaise is good and that worries me. I promise this is not because i was feeling like_____. Its been a long time coming. Now there is Unilocal.Thank you Unilocal
