What an amazing place to stay! This was my first trip back during autumn in over 20 years, so I wanted to experience it to the fullest. This was absolutely the right place to do it. The Woodland is on 410 acres of explorable woods with creeks, rock formations, hiking/walking trails and more. Tom and Janey are such amazing hosts. I’ve been to B&B’s before, but never with the attention I got here. I left for the day, and came back at night to find candles lighting the path to the door. A choice of various weights of bathrobes. There were thousand little touches that made everything so special. Janey is a fabulous cook. Since you’re their only guest(s) you get a lot of say in what you want for breakfast, and be prepared for Janey’s ability to make the most sumptuous of feasts from the simplest ingredients. I am NOT a biscuits and gravy fan(I think I’m the only one in the world), but when I smelled Janey’s gravy I had to try some, and it was heavenly. She could even convert me, as long as it was her making it. I can’t say enough good about this place. The only problem? Three days was not enough. I plan to make this an annual trek, for a week next time. I want to take my writer friends here – what a perfect writer’s retreat this makes. The price was wonderful, too. The longer the stay, the better the discount.
