Situated near the head of the main road in Marshall, the Beanery is an excellent choice for beverages, food, and fun eats that adults as well as the younger set will find enjoyable. Their 3-fold printed menu/brochure will serve you better than the briefer version at their Web site(this wouldn’t be so if they’d just post a .PDF file of that brochure). Feeling hungry? I can recommend their Turkey Avocado Wrap; As large as perhaps a burrito you may have encountered elsewhere(see my photo). It is chock full of sliced turkey, avocado, chopped lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black olives, chickpeas, banana peppers, jalpenos, mustard, and(if you like), mayonnaise. All wraps and paninis are served with tasty Pepper Kettle potato chips. Also on that menu are flat bread pizzas, salads, pastries(muffins, scones, cookies and cake pops) baked daily at the shop. There are also a small selection of breakfast items. Of course, a shop calling itself a beanery will have coffees, and many variants of that beverage can be found here, along with tea and hot chocolate. Many of these are also offered in cold forms too, as well as plainer and carbonated items. Although you can take anything you order away, there’s no real need to. It’s a pleasant room with comfortable table seating. If you’d rather people-watch, there’s a couple of tables out on the sidewalk in front.

Great owners who really care about their business and customers. Great coffee and food for a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

The coffee is amazing here. Way better than any chain coffee place. But even better, the owners and the company you meet there is even better. They know how to serve! The food is amazing too. Can’t beat a vanilla latte and a blueberry muffin. They also do great with constantly having live music and family events. This place is a can’t miss in historic downtown Marshall!

Love it! Small town service and excellent coffee! I’m sold. Went there after a neighboring doughnut shop said they would have to charge a $ 5 credit card fee. I will be buying pastries here more often. When I bought the muffins, they placed them in some containers and just trusted me to bring them back. Good job James!

Awesome small town coffee shop with great coffee, latte’s, hot chocolate, tea, etc. Very good food as well. Try the feta flat bread pizza or the turkey avocado sandwich both are excellent. Great staff and welcoming for adults, kids, and families.

Great coffee and really good food. Something for everybody. Nice atmosphere, as you would expect from a homey coffee shop. Homemade soups fall through spring are my favorite lunch item. Blueberry scones in the morning are fantastic. Food is made fresh, not packaged like the big stores.

Nice relaxing atmosphere with a good selection of loose leaf teas. They are able to turn them into Iced Teas as well. Ice Cream looked good, but I did not try any, maybe next time as I’m sure I’ll be back. Free WiFi and friendly service

Good coffee and scones. The saff is really nice. Better than your average Starbucks.

Wonderful downtown coffee shop! Bright, friendly atmosphere. Locals seem to sit, chat, and stay. If I lived in Marshall, I would work from here every day.

I just moved to Marshall and was eager to try the Main Street Beanery. I went at 5pm and was delighted to see they were open till 6:30pm during the week. I spoke to the owner and tried two of the gelato flavors, chocolate and maple. Delicious! They even offer affogato(espresso poured over vanilla gelato), one of my favorite desserts. I also tried a cup of their Sumatra coffee and it was rich and smooth. I will definitely be back!

Main Street Beanery is a gem in historic Marshall, MI. There is not a Starbucks to be found in the area and the few other coffee places are just lacking(no offense to them) but MSB is awesome. The coffee is great but the wraps are even better. Fresh backed muffins and scones are to die for and free wi-fi. Starbucks who?

Found myself in Marshall for a business trip and there was not a Starbucks to be found. But really, who needs s-bucks when you have the Main Street Beanery. This local coffee house is full of small town charm and has the friendly staff to go along with it. In addition to your standard coffees, lattes, and teas, they offer pastries, gelato, as well as a few lunch options and a soon to be expanding breakfast menu. As of now they’ve only been open for 12 days so come out for a drink and support local business.
