The Confederate Capital of Missouri? In Texas?
Yep. I know, you may have many questions, such as, what was MIssiouri doing inside Texas? Or, Missouri wasn’t part of the Confederacy, was it?
Missouri was not part of the Confederacy, but that didn’t stop Missouri Confederates from sending «their» government reps down to Marshall during the Civil War to set up shop. Wishful thinking.
The building where some people purported to move MIssouri is no longer — it was demolished years ago. But true history buffs might want to stop by and recall one more absurdity of the Civil War if they happen through town.
