Very nice«old furniture» or department store feel. Friendly staff, good coffee. No sandwiches til 11, but all in all, very nice.

I travel lots for work and have been exposed to catering from New York to Miami, to LA. Without a doubt, I can safely say Central Perks provides the best catering service I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Lunches were mostly sandwiches with enough variety and originality that surpassed the normal problems with repetitiveness one usually experiences with catering. The dinners were exceptional with a great variety and delicious and personal touch that made the food taste and feel like home cooking. Debra and Robert are incredibly friendly and a real pleasure to work with on site. I highly recommend Central Perks for any groups that visit Marshall(or any indigenous folks too!)… I wish I could take them with me, wherever I go. P. S. I think I gained 10lbs from eating the desserts. I promised myself not to eat them… but they were too good to ignore.

I had the pleasure of eating here during Healthfest 2015 this past weekend. Everything I ate from here was soooo good! I am a vegan so I enjoyed their un– tuna sandwich and their«turkey» club sandwich made me smile with delight! Order their exotic fruit tea… Served over crushed ice… Nice and sweet and delicious! Fruit was always available. There were long lines of people wanting to eat here during the festival. I understand why! :) The owner always took my order and he always greeted me with a beautiful smile. The servers were really nice also and made me feel welcome too. Will I go back? Heck yes!!! I will drive the 1 ½ hours from my home any chance I get just to eat here again!!! Thank you Central Perks for all the hard work you did for us during the Healthfest!!! I can’t wait to visit your fine establishment again very soon!!! :)

«Perks» is always a delight. Everything is great… Food, service, atmosphere. I have tried everything on the menu but my favorite is the Kelehan Wrap(lettuce wraps with bacon, jalapeño cream cheese and lots other yummy stuff)

Excellent service, great attention to detail. Great salads. Ordered a big lunch for a small film crew and they labeled everything — very helpful. The vibe here is upbeat.

I have been there several times over the years. I enjoy the coffee and service but I also love the store location and the items to look at. It has a little bit of everything.

This is a really cool place. I came here for coffee and wifi to do some work and when people started flooding in for lunch I had to see what it was all about. You can sit at the counter like a NY style diner or at a nice table. The coffee and sandwich I had were both very good. I received them quickly despite the fact that they were very busy. Although you do not have a designated server the staff never let a drink get empty and always asked if I needed anything. If you are in Marshall skip the chain restaurants and come here instead.

I liked their antique was awesome and interesting. Its a nice implacable to spend a day browsing around the history and figuring out how things used to be compared to the present day gadgets. The staff is nice and friendly.

A coffee place that doesn’t serve breakfast? They don’t have a breakfast menu and one of the employees rattled off a couple of things she could make… Coffee was really good though, but there is a big gap between my version of a large and their version. Should have ordered a couple of them, I guess.

I want to start with the owners of this place are great! They are super people and really work with you if you get something catered. I think Central Perks has an excellent location with a little bit of the charming coffee shop feel. There are lots of antiques in the shop as well which throws off the vibe a little. They have some really cool things to look at though and the place is pretty massive for downtown area. The exotic tea is lovely and refreshing. It’s hard to explain, but it is a must try. They present their food well and the chicken salad is tasty. I think it was a little dry for my taste buds but it was quality ingredients. The croissant was the best ever! They had a nice fruit spread for us and plenty of beverages. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to try their actual coffee! Thank you Debra for all of your help!

Amazing place. This is the old department store in Marshall. When I say old we are talking 1800s. Wood, huge windows, high, high ceilings. Three stories. A elevator. Super clean bathrooms. Ornate ceiling tiles. Amazing merchandise. Stuff you want to buy for that person you will be coming home to. You can not get this stuff at Walmart. This place is not to missed if you visit Marshall. This is one of the very nicest places in town. I know I live here. This is the best Marshall Texas has to offer. that’s why I gave it 5 stars, it is as good as it gets here. Good coffee, free wifi and good wait staff. The owner is a Marshall treasure. He looks like he should be on a TV show and is friendly like he got a phd in «friendly». He could easily play batman in the 1950s. Ask for Vicki as waitress if you know what is good for you. She has been taking care of people for a long time and will take care of you. If your sad she will even cheer you up with just a sentence or two. It’s kinda like magic. They feature deserts, salads, sandwiches. Nice tables, glass tops on them. CLEAN. CLEANCLEAN, good silverware. Also old fancy couches. Features pop music, just the hits. Every Second Saturday in a month they feature live bands and lots of vintage cars on this street. People get bused in to this downtown area from Dallas every Christmas. They give tours of the old courthouse in the square during the mornings. Walk around the buildings doors on the basement level till one of them opens. Entrance on the east side. Also the Amtrak station is down the street across 80 to the north. Its a museum with lots of train stuff. If your looking around the area be sure to see Jefferson too. Of interest there is the Jefferson general store downtown and possibly the ancient bar auntie Skinners.

This place is the number one spot for a great lunch! For out of towners like myself, who travel to Marshall often, this is our 1st choice every time. They have great soups like the tomato basil. When looking for a fresh, healthy lunch — this place is terrific!

Great place to stop and eat! The whole enchilada is my regular meal here. The owners normally take my order or are in some part visiting with customers. You can eat inside or out. After you eat you can shop around. Very friendly and great food!

Last few meals I’ve had here, after not eating here for a few years, have been better than those that I reviewed earlier. Portions are still rather small, but the sandwiches seemed to be a bit better, as are the soups. This is the sort of place the cries out for three and a half stars, but I’ll round up on account of the friendly service and the ambiance.

The place is ok(The art gallery up top has good artwork) but the espresso was Awful(it tasted like rotten milk) and the service was mediocre… That’s the best way to put it

I visited Central Perks one evening when attending the Festival of Lights in Marshall. I was skeptical at first, given the crowds, but it was very easy to get a seat, and the service was very efficient, despite the quantity of people. When I ate there on a Saturday evening, there was a trio playing chamber music, which was a nice touch. I’m not sure if they are a permanent fixture, but they do add to the atmosphere. The hamburger I had was a tad«dry,» but that may be because I did not ask for mayonnaise. The tomato basil soup made up for any deficiency I had because is currently the best soup I have had at any eatery. Furthermore, the hot chocolate was also excellent. Highly recommended. That, and they do brew their own drinks and don’t sell out to some chains, which is a plus. Basically, the atmosphere rocks, the food is excellent as is the coffee products, and there is plenty of historical significance in the era. A trip to Marshall without going here would be incomplete.

One of the best sandwich/soup places in Marshall. They also have great burgers if you want more than a sandwich. Very nice people and great service. One con is that it is a little bit pricey, but the great food makes you forget that.
