We used to frequent«Eat Moore’s» ice cream shop in Marlette(at the railroad tracks) for years. A couple years ago it changed ownership and is now called«Luv More» ice cream. We always enjoyed and looked forward to going there when it was Eat Moore’s. We’ve been there at least a half dozen times since it changed names and ownership. The portions used to be really fair for the price. Now it has gotten quite expensive and the portions are very skimpy for what you pay. Sometimes the ice cream is very soft. Not sure if it’s a freezer issue or what. They serve Hershey brand ice cream. It’s not as good as Stroh’s ice cream, but it’s good. When the owner is around, it seems the kids working there are afraid to give you too much of anything, resulting in the skimpy portions. The inside is clean, open, and pretty cute. But overall it has lost most of the nostalgic feel that made it such a fun and unique place to go. The kids working there are always smiling and friendly. The owner can be hit or miss. If the prices came down and the portions went up, we’d be more inclined to go back. The Clark station just up the road gives you a lot more ice cream for less money. My family and I would rate Luv More ice cream shop 2−½ stars.

Love this place! New owner, friendly staff, and the homemade chocolate waffle cones are the best!

If you’ve ever gone up Van Dyke into the thumb then you know a required stop is Moores’ in Marlette. Sitting right beside the train tracks and as far back as I can remember Moores has been a welcome treat either going up or coming home so Dad could get a break from us fidgeting in the back seat of the station wagon. With about 50 flavors and a single scoop(actually it looks like two) for about $ 2.50 you can’t go wrong. And the service is just as friendly as always.

Loved stopping for ice cream as a kid on the long drive to our cottage. Looking forward to stopping there with my young son for the first time as we visit my childhood places this holiday.

You know those scenes in old movies where the bad guy walks in and the music stops? That is what happened when the husband and I walked into this place. There were some ladies at a table having some sort of meeting or something and by the time we got to the counter to order, they were out the door. We ordered our ice cream fast before they came back with lit torches chanting«out lander». Not super friendly young girls behind the counter. Cool vintage place but weird vibe for sure. Good ice cream though — love that Mackinac Island Fudge but can get it anywhere in Michigan.

A wonderful old school ice cream shop. You can get the absolute BEST blueberry crunch here, with an intense Fresh Blue Berry Taste, perfectly paired with candied crunchy bits. Every time I go, I throw caution to the wind and pig out. I actually am ok with this, since good food is so hard to find up in the thumb. So stop here and refuel up while you can!

Driving North on M-53, white lettering on a shingled roof proclaims, «Eat Moore Ice Cream!» Yeah, huh? As if I’m going to stop at this shack on the railroad tracks across from a grain silo. But one day I did just that. Having driven past dozens of times over the course of 25 years, I took the plunge. I was delighted to discover that Moore even sold the rarest favorite of favorites, orange-pineapple ice cream. I sprung for a double, dipped into a waffle cone. It took me half an hour to eat that monster of fresh-made goodness, sitting beside the tracks while late-afternoon thunder boomed overhead. A singular experience, and one that remained as the high point of my summer.
