This restaurant is awesome. I wasn’t expecting the food to taste as good as it did. I went for Father’s Day and had the spinach salad with shrimp on the side. My mom had the fish and chips and of course I took a few bites from her plate. Fantastic.

I lived in the area for years and somehow never came in until after I moved a few towns away. Needed some meat after playing racquetball on my way home and couldn’t think of a better option, so I decided to try for the first time. Glad I did. First, the atmosphere is really cool. Old rustic cottage feel, very warm and inviting. Was there on a Tuesday night and there were just a few older locals hanging out. Sat at the bar and ordered the tips with mashed. Salad was good. Tips were freaking fantastic. So tender and juicy and the marinade was amazing. Someone previously mentioned their disappointment in the tips mentioning a texture of mystery meat and greasiness. No clue what he was eating. They were top notch and perfectly cooked rare. Mashed potatoes were creamy and rich. Service was very pleasant and efficient. Bummed it took me so long to finally try the pub. Been going to the market in front for years.

In a word, overrated. We came in for dinner on a Friday night after hearing from multiple people that it was good. Unfortunately, I came to regret coming here. Let’s start with some of the good. Atmosphere was actually pretty good. The interior had an Irish homey feel. The noise level was elevated, but you could still have a normal conversation. Now for the bad. I ordered a cup of clam chowder to start, and the marinated steak tips as my entrée, while my fiancé ordered a burger. The chowder was flavorless. I would not have been surprised if it came from a can. Not offensive, just nothing to write home about. Next came the steak tips and burger. I ordered my tips medium. They came out in mystery meat form. They were greasy with the plate coated in grease globs. They had a rib sauce that made me question whether I had gotten ribs instead of steak tips. The color inside resembled microwaved meat and not fresh cooked steak. Overall the flavor can best be described as miserable. The burger must have been a frozen patty as the outside was cooked, but the center seemed like it got minimal cook to it. The burger just wasn’t good and the side of fries were a bit soggy. Obviously never coming back.

I’ve been holding off reviewing this restaurant for a while because I’m stuck between 3 and 4 stars. My parents took me here all the time when I was little, I remember ordering off the kids menu and my food coming in a little blue convertible. Since then I’ve been with my boyfriend. We’ve only eaten in 2 times. The first time we both got the chicken fingers, I am a huge fan of chicken fingers, but there is something about these that I don’t like, I think i just don’t like the breaking. Our waitress was nice but a little nosey, I wasn’t very hungry to begin with and on top of that I wasn’t really loving my dinner so I asked for a box to go, she kept asking if I felt okay and if everything was okay. I told her multiple times everything was fine. I know she meant well but it was getting on my nerves a little. The second time here I got the sirloin steak, it was very good and cooked correctly I ate the whole thing(something I don’t normally do.) I’ve also tried the sliced sirloin, not to be confused with chopped sirloin, this is actual sirloin steak cut into pieces. It’s very good but a lot of juice comes off and ruins the fries, I suggest asking for the fries in a separate box. Overall I like it here it’s a little pricey but I’m sure I will be back.

Great staff and food. We just ate here and Lindsay took care of us. She was on point all night, even split our bill among our three families in attendance. She was very gracious even after my 2-year-old barfed on the table. Kids! Anyway, good beer on tap, good food, excellent staff.

Love this place! My Fiancé and I go quite a bit for dinner(he also goes maybe 2 – 3 times a week for lunch). I’ve had everything from salads, to steak tips, to fish and chips. Always great, and always comes out of the kitchen piping hot, no matter how busy they are! The whipped potatoes are just like my grandma makes. Service is always wonderful as well… they make you feel like part of the family. Yes, the interior is dated, but it has a neighborhood feel that is cozy and welcoming. My fiancé always says it feels like home. We’ll be coming back for years to come! It’s great to have a place like this so close to home.

Holy moley, this is almost good enough to make a man move from Florida, and if I could drive through snow and ice to save my life I probably would! My server Sheilay was phenomenal!

I think they did not worth of any star for their service, it is the nastiest one in my experience in my restaurants eating. They took not more time just forever to serve us just for simple menu and the guys working here not even so friendly.

I’ve lived in Marlborough for fifteen years but never tried Kennedy’s. Shame on me! This place is great! Cathy and Tom at the bar are super attentive and filled with information. I ordered the BBQ boneless wings which on the menu come only as buffalo, but they made the change no problem. Then I figured I’d try the Ruben but wanted to make a change there too. I opted to skip the swiss cheese and see if they could swap out the sauerkraut for coleslaw. Again, no problem. Both dishes were delicious. I was very happy with the Ruben. This is a place where they know everyone there, a classic local spot. I had a great time and will go back this weekend.

It is what it is as a famous local football coach likes to say. The place is always full and turns over tables like they are feeding the military. That’s not to say it’s a bad place to go, it’s full of locals that will swear by it and they even have the pictures of the Kennedy family that have stopped by(Teddy and John Jr.) — I’m pretty sure they had the same menu and sat int the same seats as we do now. The service is efficient and mostly friendly, like I said they turn the tables over quick. The food is right about average to good = all depends on what you get. The steak tips are famous(deservedly so), the Delmonico Potatos are worth the order as well, the Fishermans Net(fried seafood platter) with onion rings is pretty good as well. I’m not sure I’d order to many Italian dishes as an «Irish Pub» is what I will leave you with.

I read great reviews so my expectations were probably too high. I took my work team here for dinner and drinks. Drinks were the best part of the experience.(And I had ginger ale) The place itself is dark and run down. The appetizers were ok but my pounded chicken had no flavor, the steaks were tough and the shrimp was far too sweet. Even the mashed potatoes were so overbooked there we’re paste. Tiny amounts of condiments(a mouthful of cranberry jelly, 2 tiny butter packets for a huge baked potato, etc) gave the feeling of cheapness. However our waitress and the chocolate mousse were wonderful. If we were just stopping in for pub food and drinks it would have been fine.

Good God! What is wrong with all of you people who gave this place more than 1 star? I can say this was pretty much the worst(and overpriced) meal I’ve had in a long, long time. My wife and I came for dinner on a Monday night. She ordered one of the specials which was a pork tenderloin and eggplant, I ordered the steak tip caesar salad based on the reviews here on Unilocal. When my plate arrived there were 5 or 6 steak tips sitting on a sad looking plate of lettuce and veggies. I took one bite and flagged the waitress: the meat was cold and so I asked her to have the«chef» reheat it. Meanwhile the mess my wife was eating was some amalgamation of spaghetti sauce, cheese and somewhere inside was the tenderloin and eggplant. She had a very hard time getting through ¼ the dish, saying this was one grade above school cafeteria food is a stretch. Meanwhile my steak caesar came back, it was now warmer but not appetizing at all. The sauce came straight from a Sysco can I have no doubt and the beef itself was a poor quality cut. I kept looking around for the cameras to see if Gordon Ramsey was making an appearance. A nightmare indeed. Our waitress was pleasant enough when we told her the food sucked. It’s not her fault and the service was good. As we rushed out the exit we noticed everyone we saw was drinking copiously, this is a requirement if you have to eat here more than once in your life. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

I have come here several times with my fiancé and his family as they are local. I have never had a complain about the food. I usually stick with broiled salmon and a cup of their chowder. Delicious and simple. The service has been pretty hit or miss. Our most recent visit even with a reservation we still waited over an hour for a table. The décor is dated, but I like to think that’s part of the charm of Kennedy’s.
