I have been a consumer of GNC products, mainly vitamins — online and in store. First I need to caution you to REALLY READ THE FINE PRINTS on returns — it is NOT that easy if you buy on line. And forget about going to the SPM store — the employees are consistently «lax» and uncaring when it comes to returns or problems. So I just kept the extra ALMASED cannisters I had purchased.
The second issue I had revolves around the first generation of the product OXI ELITE PRO, I had been using since it first came out. During a routine literature search for my professional projects, I came across a Brooks Army Medical Center article on the product and the on going research that took the first formulation off the shelves (Which is the product I had, because I didn’t like their newer formula — stupid me not to do research…). So I printed out the article and brought the two bottles I had purchased back to the store. Before I pulled it out, I asked the young gentleman what he knew about the on going study, which he proceeded to give me a lecture on how studies are conducted (after a 25 years of working in Research and to include Army Medical, I think I know a bit about research and data, but hey, he ASSUMED I am a dumb schmuck that doesn’t have a clue). I told him I was concerned and wanted to return the product. I got another lecture as he proceeded to tell me the study was in 2011… I pulled out my October 2013 print out… I got another lecture and a poor attempt at again EXPLAINING RESEARCH to me… but he took the product back.
