I have now dined at Perch twice since the opening in November. I am really enjoying having such a high-quality restaurant right in my neighborhood. The service is lovely and attentive. The food is delicious(we’ve had the lobster napoleon appetizer, salmon entrée, four cheese and pear beggars purse entrée, and the potato wrapped perch entrée). And the beer and cider selection is great, with many of our local and regional breweries represented. We enjoyed a 4-beer flight(just $ 10) and a hard cider on tap. We will be back. I’m looking forward to trying the Sunday Brunch.

Great dinner with friends last night. Exten is a great waiter. They were most busy with every table full. Loved the Venison stew. Beggars purses popular with two in our party. Pork belly tacos amazing. Go try this place out. Say hi to Pete the bartender.

We were big fans of Tommy and Cibo, so we have been anticipating the arrival and opening of Perch for a while, to say the least. We only live in Marlboro on the weekends, which means having a great dinner spot on Friday’s after work is important to us. And Perch did not disappoint(12.18.16). The wine list is great, and carries many varietals to match the eclectic menu. Staff: incredibly kind(the bus boy may be the hardest working guy in a 25 mile radius, we LOVED him!). Service: The kinks will get worked out, we are confident because everyone is so committed to guests! Food: delicious. We shared the endive salad with goat cheese, fried oysters(I could have had 20). My husband had the rabbit pappardelle which was perfectly rich, savory and«warning» without being over powering. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits(it will be difficult for me not to order them constantly). Dessert:(yes, I realize it’s food, but to me it’s separate) was just ok. The flourless chocolate cake was selection, and honestly it was ok, not good or great. Additional notes: they’ve done a great job of refreshing the location, including the ladies restroom, ventilation system, and framing of the space. I particularly appreciate the curtain around the door to guard against winter’s bite. Looking forward to experiencing Perch as it continues to expand, learn, grow and mature.

My wife and I had dinner at Perch last Saturday evening. Arrived around 7:45 and the bar area and downstairs were bustling. We did not have a reservation so we sat at the bar and had a drink while waiting to be seated. The wine list is fairly extensive and my wife had a glass of wine(I believe it was under $ 10) and I had vodka on the rocks and the pour was fair. We were seated fairly quickly and served very tasty bread while we read the menu. I have had a hard time finding a decent burger in the area(used to go to the Raccoon Saloon but the service was so bad we stopped going) and I figured I would give their burger a try. I was not disappointed and it came with hot crispy fries(they gave you the choice or regular or sweet potato). My wife ordered the local sausage dish and was impressed with the presentation and taste. I thought the portion was small(only one link of sausage) but it was enough for her. I did find the menu somewhat limited and I assume they will expand same once they have a feel for the tastes of the locals. Only negatives that we experienced were that they did not offer us more bread after the initial bread was gone and they do not have their menu on their website. The bar scene when we arrived was also quite loud and we asked for a table as far away from the loud group as possible. Perch is a welcome addition to the area and will definitely be added to our rotation of restaurants that we frequent. It is already a big step up from the prior restaurant in this space and as they get the kinks out I am confident that getting a table here will soon be difficult.

We had dinner at the Perch restaurant. I am not a big fan of the menu & had a hard time choosing what I wanted but with that said both our meals were delicious. We started with a plate of cheese as the appetizer. The cheese assortment was very nice but the presentation was lacking(no one compares to the cheese plate at The North Plank Tavern in Newburgh). There was also a couple of pickles and handful of pistachios and crackers on the plate. I had the perch which was flash frozen from South Africa and cooked to perfection. It was placed on a bed of spinach which was very tasty but very watery in my dish. We also had the shrimp with grits which was delicious. They did a nice job renovating and I was thrilled when we left that we didn’t smell of fried foods like we used to from the previous restaurant owner’s lack of cleaning the exhaust system. I thought the prices were a bit high & the menu was kind of «out there» for a small town restaurant but I’ll give it 4 stars because the food was very good and the service was excellent.
