In years past, Murphy Orchard was THE place to go for the tastiest fruit you could ever want! However, THIS year, when we went to Murphy Orchard, there was a sign saying, «Don’t touch, the peaches bruise easily.» When we got home with our basket of peaches, we found rotting peaches on the bottom of the basket, molding and bruised fruit in the middle of the basket with good peaches on the top layer. It appears that Murphy Orchard is practicing deception this year to sell inferior fruit however they can! We are returning our basket of peaches and demanding a refund!

I LOVE Murphy Orchard! The orchard is located on Highway 60, west of Springfield. I used to frequent the orchard when I would travel between where I lived(Springfield) and my mom’s house down on the lake. I no longer live in Springfield, but when I was in town visiting my mom a few months ago I made it a point to go to the orchard. I LOVE their peaches and apples. Also, it is a MUST to get the frozen apple cider whenever you are there. It is SO tasty and really quenches your thirst on a hot summer day. I was planning on taking home some jams and jellies when we visited this summer(I live in Hawaii and you just can’t get a lot of the same fruits and flavors out here), but I was very disappointed to see that most of the jams and jellies were full of added ingredients and high fructose corn syrup. Definitely not something I expected to see being sold at a local orchard. Ordinarily I would deduct a star for this, but their fresh fruit is just so good I couldn’t!
