We have had almost everything on the menu and it’s normally good. But last night we waited 10 minutes and got no service. Not sure what is going on … spoke to the business manager and it was explained to me about the short help that night. Will be trying to go back again hoping the service is back to normal.

Being from out of town, and it’s raining, we got delivery. I had the appetizer sampler. Ate one ravioli and two mozarella sticks. Not good at all. Husband had spaghetti and meatballs. Ate three bites and quit. He said he wouldn’t feed it to a dog. Ick.

The service was very good and the atmosphere is very nice. The sandwich I ordered was great with the chips being a little undercooked. The TV by when you walk in has a line going through it that could be fixed. I wish they brought out the garlic bread before I had received my food. Most Italian establishments bring out the bread first.

Very good food for a very good price! Family Feast is a favorite in my family. It includes their delicious spaghetti with meat sauce, fantastic and addictive toasted garlic bread, and a gondola(large sandwich using untoasted homemade bread. In the restaurants looks very Italian, lots of art and tables are painted nicely. Several locations to serve eastern Iowa locations.

Been here several times over the years. It’s good mediocre Italian food at a reasonable price. They could use some training on how to cook steaks medium rare though. Have also tried their carry out. The quality of the carry out food is pretty bad though. I’d stick with dining in.

The food is okay but the service is terrible. Last 2 times I ordered carryout my order has been wrong. The people that answer the phone are clueless and inept.

Service is always really SLOW! And they don’t seem to care if they give slow service.

Beware of the automatic tip they add in at 20%, not a problem but service and food were bad. Also kids eat on Sunday but they tried to charge us.

Zio’s is a local chain that started out as a carry-out, spaghetti by the bucket place. They upgraded their stores and menu a few years ago, adding steaks and seafood items and full table service. They can get crazy busy when they’re running some of their annual specials like customer appreciation month. If you come to these events be ready to check your attitude at the door and take a chill pill. The food is very good for the money, one of the best values in town. The owners Eli and John give back to the community many ways and often donate food for charity events. Just another reason to support this great local eatery.

Always great food at a great price! I love their pizza and their lunch specials are great. I’ve never left Zio Johno’s feeling hungry and have always had leftovers when I order a dinner. They are also 100% locally owned which is very important to me and the owner has built this place from the ground up into a great set of restaurants that I love to go to time and time again.

I must start by saying I’m surprised at the low rating this place has! I have been going here for years since they were in a mini building. The gyros here is amazing it is served open faced with tons of lamb meat. Some items on the menu are hit and miss but overall everyone in my party left happy and I also have to mention what I call«candy bread» that they use for all their sandwiches and garlic bread making it taste way better than the competition which is… that’s right I’m in Marion… There is none:)

Horrible service! I don’t care how busy you are, 45 min to bring drinks to the table, and another 45 for the food? This is not good service, and then the manager used the lame«it’s busy, and we are short staffed» excuse! Since our party had 8 we had to pay mandatory tip, kinda had us trapped. Never again, avoid this place!

How do you spell disappointment? Z-I-O J-O-H-N-O-S. My boyfriend and I ordered from here last night. It’s the first real food I’ve had since getting my wisdom teeth removed and I’d rather have had another bowl of soup or ice cream to get SOME flavor. The cheese ravioli was so bland. There was no flavor to the cheese inside at all; it honestly tasted like nothing. And the mozzarella sticks? Gross. The price wasn’t worth that; if they charged us $ 5 for all that, I’d still say it was overpriced. Service was good, though and warrants the lonely star. I’d probably like this place more if I wasn’t spoiled by Madison restaurants. Maybe.

My friend and I stopped here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon while I was visiting my sister. I hadn’t actually heard anything about this restaurant before, having mostly gone to chains while in the greater Cedar Rapids area. I’m really glad we stopped here instead of going somewhere else, though. They had a decent selection on the menu… there were several items that I was interested in ordering, from some simple pasta dishes, to some fun toppings on the pizza, to sandwiches. Our service was a little bit slow, especially considering it was late afternoon and there were only two other people there. My friend ordered one of their specialty pizzas(based on recommendation from our waitress), and he was really satisfied with it. I ordered a chicken parmigian sandwich… which was messy, but very good. It was simple… chicken, cheese, and red sauce… but why mess with a good thing? There wasn’t anything that I would have added to it! I was surprised by how reasonable the price was… between the two of us we got out for about $ 20, with tip. The décor had some really funny statues… like a Caesar whos head was smaller than his own forearm, and fun paintings on the table. We liked it. If I can ever get my sister to not go to HuHot while I’m in town visiting her, I’ll definitely return.

Zio Johno’s is a family-friendly Italian restaurant that’s long on value and short on surprise. I’m a fan simply because my bill for three was roughly half of what I’d pay at Olive Garden or Biaggi’s. Granted, the menu isn’t as extensive — here the focus is on pizzas and red sauces. But if you’re in the mood for comfort food, you can’t beat it. The place has it’s charms — there are little marble busts sitting on a ledge near the entrance, and our table had been painted with a quant gondola scene on top. Service was a bit on the slow side, but friendly. And the garlic bread — you get a LOT with your meal! We made the mistake of ordering cheese bread as an appetizer, and we ended up taking an entire box of bread home. Mama mia!
