With a BBQ restaurant on every corner, the competition is tough. After six different BBQ restaurants, this one is the best. The portions are good for the price and service is typical small town«If you want something ask.»

Mother’s Day lunch was very good. The whole family had rib tips and fish, with various sides. We will be returning here again.

Never thought I’d find myself in Marion, IL again but life is rarely predictable. One of my friends married a local girl here and I was best man in the wedding in like 2000 or 2001. You can do a lot worse that Triple E. Decent pulled pork and BBQ sauce. French fries were good and tasted like they were twice fried.

I told a client I’d be in Marion this week, and he told me I should try Triple E, he’s originally from a near by town and said he stops every chance he gets. I had the Baby Back Ribs, potato salad and baked beans. The ribs were very good, but needed another hour on the smoker to get to that ‘fall off the bone’ point where they should be served. The flavor was nice, but just a little more chewing that you should have to do on good BBQ. The beans weren’t anything special, in fact I’m pretty sure they were from a can based on the consistency of them. Likewise the potato salad was average and tasted like the stuff from a deli case. The portions were decent sized, and staff was friendly enough, and they keep the place clean, so those are all pluses. If you are driving through Marion and need some BBQ I’d suggest 17th St. first, but if you want to try something different, give Triple E a shot.

We ate here Labor Day after our bicycle ride from Vienna, IL on the Tunnel Hill State Trail. So many places we’re closed and we wanted BBQ. We had the pork sandwich — it was delicious, very lean and tender. The BBQ sauce was good — I think they make their own and you have a choice of spicy or not so spicy. They also offer a sweet BBQ sauce that comes in a packet. We each had 2 sides. The fried okra and the corned nuggets were really good. My husband had slaw and baked beans, also good. This place is off the beaten path but worth the effort to get there. Very casual, country atmosphere, and friendly.

Loved eating here for lunch, especially after a LONG drive from Chicago. Had the pulled pork sandwich. The BBQ was tangy and had a peppery taste. My friend thought it was homemade. There were only two options of sauce: Mild or Hot; the«Hot» tasted better in my opinion. I had a side of Okra(but it was fried okra — the menu didn’t say fried). Also I had a baked potato with bacon, cheese. Very tasty. Inside was very cozy. It looked like there were a few locals eating at about 2PM on July 4th. THis is a great place to stop if you are driving through Marion on a road trip and have a taste for BBQ. I would go again if it weren’t so far from my house. They played country music on the radio and I love country music, so this added to the experience.
