Looking for a place to get a quick burger with my sailing buddy after being out for a long day sailing(and before we felt like competing with traffic on 495). Stopped in around 7:30PM on a Sunday evening and had the best Guac burger and Mushroom burger(both with fries) we’ve had in a while. It was not super busy, so it’s a great time to go. Plenty of other things on the menu that looked great, but we just wanted something quick and tasty. We left very satisfied.

Truly enjoyable breakfast with Mother In Law, brother in law & sister in law. Quaint place with friendly service and good food. Although, my usual Xtra cheese and sausage omelette was good but needed more cheese. Home fries & pumpernickel toast were tasty. My son says thumbs up on his pancakes but not as good as IHOP. Every one else enjoyed their breakfast. My wife and sister in law’s veggie and goat cheese omelettes and my brother in law’s Irish egg’s Benedict… All good. My mother in law’s scrambled eggs were also tasty. Over all… I’d be back.

At first glance the menu lacks much passion to be honest. Most of the entrees I feel certain I could make at home. We had a poor welcome from a young man who oddly steered my wife & I to the grandma’s kitchen side of restaurant, when there plenty of tables in the more elegant bistro open kitchen side of Café.(Yes there was even a Grandma’s Breakfast Hutch replete with syrup in that coffee shop side.) Our waitress seemed young & less than experienced with waiting & her menu as well. The oddities continue when you find few seafood dishes — shrimp Tuscany or piccata or Atlantic salmon on menu when you’re a stones throw from the harbor. I had read these reviews and prayed the nightly specials would save our evening. Again I found them strange — braised beef ribs over ravioli? Another Atlantic salmon but on a massive plate of lettuce? I don’t believe in «comfort food». The wife does. And frankly I don’t order pasta dishes when dining out either. This left me with few choices: two steaks, some chicken or order — gulp — the meatloaf. I really wanted the Caprese appetizer but my disappointment at any appropriate follow up entrée made me go with a nice, yet over dressed arugula salad.(Whys my wife’s salad dressing in the side & mine isn’t?) Since my wife does believe in «comfort food», I’ve seen many meatloaf plates. This was perhaps the best meatloaf ever. I know. I know. It’s meatloaf, what could be stellar? It was minced perfectly providing sensational flavors of meat & herb. Salvation. Perhaps we’ll try another night dining here. There is frankly a dearth of drab eateries down on this Bay and maybe we’ll catch lightning in bottle again at Sippican Café.

This is a nice little neighborhood restaurant which is well located.(Nearest good restaurants are about 15 miles in either direction along Route 6 in either E. Wareham or Fairhaven.) They serve standard American fare on the menu, and the specials are currently braised short ribs and lobster salad or roll. Salad is excellent and fresh, pretty good sized for a side dish. My wife ordered the cheeseburger and I the boneless braised ribs. The ribs were fork tender and swimming in its own juice with two scoops of mashed potatoes. It was a large portion with two slabs, excellent. The big cheeseburger came with a plateful of French fries. Fries were crisp and quite good. The burger was closer to medium well instead of medium rare as ordered. We also ordered a crème brûlée which is excellent, probably made in house.(Picture) This is a good neighborhood restaurant with friendly and good service. The burgers are maybe $ 2 more than a MacDonald’s large ones and of course much better in good surroundings with excellent service. Tables were almost all taken and half of the bar. A couple of the bar patrons may be transplants from the beer tavern Waves which closed. There were two tables of camp counselors from Tabor summer program, a couple of families with small children, and several tables of older summer folks.

This place is delicious! I am constantly disappointed by restaurants in town but let me tell you, you will not be disappointed here! I have been for breakfast and dinner and the service and food is impeccable. Recently I went there for breakfast with a party of 6 and we were in an out in 20 minutes! I never see that caliber of service, and man was I appreciative! This is my new favorite spot in town and I will definitely be there all season long! Highly recommended great for big parties and kids! Enjoy!

Winner winner chicken dinner ! It is a solid 4.5 This is a nice café, great addition to the area. Good choice for lunch or dinner. Kids had a game at Tabor, perfect spot to drop in. Indoor, there are about 20 tables, and a bar with tv that seats 10. Had the special garlic bay scallops over Caesar salad. It was delish. $ 13. Contrary to other review, drinks are reasonably priced, wine starts at $ 6 glass Cheers

Really cute little spot with outdoor patio seating within the«boundaries» of Tabor Academy. Delicious Italian food. The bolognese was incredible with a very meaty sauce. Interestingly had one of most delicious stuffed quahog– light & bready, full flavored with lots of clams. No kielbasa but wasn’t missed. Perfectly cooked served with drawn butter, lemon, & hot sauce. Excellent!

The service was great! We sat on the patio on a beautiful afternoon. The food was totally fine but nothing really stood out as fantastic. It’s a good solid local place that we will visit again for solid seafood and pasta dishes. I would pass on the mussels.

The food is not bad, but not worth the money. Wine is very expensive. Service was sub par. The salad came first. It was Caesar salad, but had very little dressing, so little that I had to check to see if it had any. While eating my salad, my appetizer came, so I had to stop eating my salad so that I would not have to eat a cold appetizer. When I finished my appetizer, I went back to eating my salad, but before I could get in a bite or two, the main course was delivered. The waitress brought us some rolls, but when I went to have one, I discovered that there was no butter for the rolls. One appetizer, two salads, two glasses of wine, two main dishes for $ 73.28(not counting tip). It was just not worth it.

First time at the Sippican Café this afternoon. We both had Chicken Ciabatta Sandwiches. They were far better than expected. The menu was interesting and offered more that the usual diner/café fare. I felt the prices were very reasonable. We’ll definitely go back!

We love the Sippican Café! Fresh seafood, nice steaks prepared perfectly. Martinis are great! You can dine inside or on the patio. Highly recommended!

We tried this a year or so ago and were disappointed … Lack of good alternatives and weekend ennui made us give it another try. The food was much better, actually good but the service was simply amateurish which spoiled what could have been a nice evening.

One of the things I love most about this café is how clean it is. I am a big fan of breakfast and have eaten at a lot of diners and this is definately not a diner, more like a cozy and cute New England café. I love that you can watch the cooks making your meals if you choose to sit in front of the open kitchen. The breakfast is really good here. The menu is small and I’d prefer the butter they provide is salted rather than unsalted(I’ve seen a few little old men show up with their own tubs of butter, which isn’t a bad idea) but overall I really enjoy eating here. Lunch is also very good here. I’ve had their burger as well as the grilled chicken ciabatta sandwich with sauteed onions(I highly recommend this one!). Overall a great little spot to grab breakfast or lunch but it is a bit pricier than I would like. If you want a refill on your drink, it’ll cost you.

Web had enjoyed the Sippican over the years and looked forward to a summer treat. It’s totally changed with extensive remodeling. Unfortunately the food was terrible, service inattentive and no sign of management. My wife loves sautéed mussels and she ordered them as an appetizer. They came out and smelled so awful we could not keep them on the table. We waited patiently but finally flagged down a server who shrugged. The chef said they were fine, not so they were not edible. Next the meals, truly pathetic. Chicken piccatta on pasta the special was tasteless, pasta was over cooked and swimming in a seas of water, not a sense of lemon. As we left we looked at the open kitchen, the cooks, being polite, were just kids with no supervision. Our advice is to avoid it for a meal. A real shame when the remodel has made it such a beautiful spot.

The Sippican Café is an adorable, locally owned restaurant that serves both traditional and unique creations for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For two owners who gathered experience working in the fast food biz, I’m impressed with all the creative homemade selections available on their menu. This might be my new favorite spot in the area. I’ve only had breakfast here, but it was absolutely delicious and perfect in every way. I decided on a Mushroom/Spinach/Broccoli/Onion/Cheese omelette, which was dank, but not too filling. Perfect ratio of veggies, cheese & egg. For me! I don’t usually like home fries, but theirs were crispy and well seasoned, just how I like ‘em. The sausage patties were decently sized, and tasty. I’d say I enjoyed the ideal breakfast meal =) And for only $ 10, it was quite the bargain. The same order would go for ~$ 16 – 18 up in Boston. The outdoor patio is a nice addition to this cozy café. Enclosed by a white pergola, it allows you to dine in less confined quarters while still maintaining privacy from the outside world. Next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely have to come here for dinner and post an update. *Note: Keep in mind that they close down during the off hours(2:00−5:00pm daily).

I agree completely. Not only is the breakfast and lunch fantastic, but they dress it up a little for Dinner. Sit at the bar or a table and you’ll recieve the best service and food within miles! There’s also something to be said for the owner to stop by your table to check in.
