A cut above the usual bland chain restaurant fare that plagues the Cedar Rapids area so badly. The sandwiches and salads are truly a cut above for this area. Very creative and flavorful. Maybe a tad pricey, but it is good, so arguably justifiable. They also sell artsy-type stuff. I don’t want to say«arts & crafts», it’s a step above that, but I go for the food and atmosphere. They also make a mean smoothie. Only quibble is that it is so ingloriously tucked away in an old house just off downtown proper that it is easy to pass by if you don’t know where to look. Access leaves a lot to be desired, but at the same the house is the finishing touch for the whole experience. The food could be just as good in a strip mall with better parking, but at the same time it wouldn’t be just as good… if you know what I mean.
