Ace Hardware of Marina

If I could give zero stars I would. I am a local guy born and raised in this town. Went to get a paint sample at 7:03pm. They’re taking in the roll in plants in front of the store. I pulled up and the guy turns around and kinda yells we are closed. I asked for two paint samples. I didn’t need to go into the store. I knew exactly what colors I needed. He asked a co worker if he could get them and they yelled no we are closed. I needed 2 paint samples. They kick the door stop and pull the door closed as hard as they could. Not customer friendly and have no respect for the customers. So much for a local customer friendly hardware store. Looks like I’ll go spend my money in seaside now

Best hardware store ever. Need advice about a project? Need expertise to fix something? This is the place for you.
These folks are most helpful and honest with their customers and are treks a local treasure.
Please don’t drive into Monterey or seaside when you need parts, hardware etc. this is the best place to start. And, they have most everything for a good price.

They have the usual housing needs but their choice of wood is very limited Ace on S Main in Salinas have it all. I wished the staff in Marina Ace was as helpful as the staff in salinas Ace on S Main.
I was looking for a 200 tooth saw blade there at the Marina Ace the girl working acted as if I was bugging her so as we searched for the blade she says «no apperantly we don’t have it.» Then 3 minutes later I find it there on the shelf with the other blades. So I grabbed a few more things I needed then stopped in my tracks and called Ace in Salinas on S Main and ordered everything on the phone then went and put back everything I had in my hands. By the time I arrived at the Ace in Salinas it was all ready for me at the register I was out in 10 minutes do to purchasing more than I really wanted. Get a clue Ace in Marina !

We came in for a few supplies today and were extremely happy with their customer service. As soon as we walked through the door someone was there to greet us and asked us if we needed help finding anything. She took us directly to the 2 items we were looking for. She was great. They were all very friendly in this store.

I love this store. Every one is always so helpful and eager to assist and I usually find everything I need right here in town.

A hardware store that reminds me of the small-​town Ace Hardware that I grew up near. Friendly customer service and a nice selection of products in a small store. Every time I visit the store I am immediately greeted and asked if I need help finding anything. You don’t find service like that anywhere…

I love this store! All the employees are friendly and knowledgeable. The older gentleman are so sweet! As a woman in a hardware store you sometimes get funny looks or feel like the staff thinks you don’t know the difference between a crescent wrench and a pair of channel locks.
I really enjoy shopping here, they always have what I need!

It’s a hardware store.
Why do I bother to review a hard-​ware-​store.
It’s because I can’t stop thinking about this freaking-​hard-​ware-​store-​in-​Marina.
I grew up with hardware stores and home depot as my Toys-​R-​Us. While little girls and little tot-​boys were playing with their oh-​so-​pretty-​anorexic-​barbies OR with their plastic-​you-​are-​never-​going-​to-​own-​one-​muscle-​cars, I — at the age of five — had a hammer in my hand like Thor and casting lighting down on nails driving them into wood. Yes, I started young with carpentry and that has always been a hobby.
So tools. Yeah, I know them. I love them. [no, not like those *tools* in Jersey Shore]
I was here to replace a patio light bulb and was greeted by the friendliest service a hardware store could ever have. Older gentlemen run this place and are always willing to go up and beyond to ensure you get what you need in the best way possible.
[Side note: this brings back memories because it was my grandpa who was about their age now when I was a tot that became the hardware-​flinging-​build-​everything-​model of my life. So yeah, I respect them significantly more than the «kids» that I run into at Home Depot sometimes. X_​X]
Anyways, what made it a COMPLETE customer satisfaction WIN besides the already impeccable service they showed me was…
I needed to pee. I needed to PEE bad.
And they let me use their restroom at an employees only section.
Yeah, I freaking love this hard-​ware-​store-​in-​Marina.

This is one of the best hardware stores in the area. My husband does a lot of home renovations and they are always helpful when he is in purchasing his items. The staff is always friendly and knowledable.
We went in on a seperatge occasion to purchase a sturdy line for our 70 lb dog for when she is out in the yard, since we had not gotten our fence up yet (we had just moved in) we had to keep her tied up when she is out there. We were having trouble finding something that would support her weight. They gentleman that assited us was very helpful and he sucessfully came up with a solution to our problem.
We will continue to frequent this location for all of our needs!

It’s no secret, customer service is a lost art., probably buried deep in the scriptures that our forefathers wrote. Seriously though, how many times have you walked into an establishment listlessly walking around waiting for someone to ask if you need help? Or conversely, you’re the idiot walking around trying to find someone to ask a question to. It happens all the time, but Ace seems to find that fine balance between being overly assertive and too relaxed. A passive-​agressive approach, if you will.
I’ve been here a few times and anytime I need something, I’m in and out of there quickly. Although a small store, Ace seems to put the right amound of staff on the floor to help out when you need it the most. The employees are friendly and thoroughly know their product. They don’t go out of their way to try and demean your knowledge, or lack thereof in this case, of hardware related goods.
Ace is the place!

I like going to Ace Hardware because the people that work there are always helpful. I ordered a mini fireplace/​stove on line and I got a call from them on the 3^rd day that it was ready for pick up. It might have been timing on my part; but still, great customer service and good value for my heater purchase.
