Red Rocket Excursions

We love Red Rocket Excursions! I recently chartered the Red Rocket to take a group of friends, along with our camping gear, to Two Harbors in Catalina. We have previously used the Catalina Express for our camping trips, but the strict weight restrictions forced us to look elsewhere for transportation. We absolutely loved the Red Rocket experience. Captain Peter was super accommodating – he helped us load our overwhelming amount of gear (which included heavy coolers, bins of supplies, tents, sleeping bags, backpacks and spear fishing equipment) onto the boat, and he helped us unload it when we got to Two Harbors. The trip itself was great. The ride was fast and comfortable, even with our gear, and Peter stopped to let us look at seals and other sealife we saw along the way. Everyone at Red Rocket was very prompt in responding to our questions, and they were flexible in working with us on scheduling our pickups and drop-​offs. I highly recommend Red Rocket as a means to get to Catalina if you are looking for a more intimate boat ride, or if you have too much gear. I’m sure the other adventures are just as great!

Killer boat super fun totally safe way fast and awesome. Great family trip, bring warm clothes! highly recommended!

Really fun… Enjoyed the thrill of flying across the Santa Monica Bay and was truly amazed at all the wildlife I saw. RIding among a school of over 200 dolphins was unbelievable. A truly remarkable experience.

Love it! I’ve gone for rides on this boat twice now, once with kids and once adults only. My favorite part was when I got a turn at the wheel and took it up to near full speed… I was screaming with the thrill of it! Kids on the boat loved it too. At one point we turned the motor off and had a glorious picnic at sea. I highly recommend it.

Thrill Ride! When we arrived we were greeted by the captain and escorted to the boat. I’m a mom so my first thoughts had to do with safety. Before I asked a single question, the captain told me about the safety of the boat — a Navy Seal vessel. He was very witty and seemed to know everything about the Marina, the history and operation of the boat as well as the sea life we encountered on our trip– seals, dolphins, a crazy variety of birds… Hubby and I were in the back for the smooth ride and my kids were up front for the thrill ride! They are 8 and 13 and LOVED it! This boat can move! The captain does tailor the ride to his passengers so if you don’t feel the need for speed, he will work that into the plan but if you want a little excitement, let him whirl you around the bay at lightening speed! Bring a good camera. He knows some great spots for photog. I would totally book this again especially for out of town visitors, maybe hubby’s 50^th Birthday…

Whoo Hoo! What a fun time we had yesterday on the water. This boat is the perfect fun thing to do. cruise along and enjoy the view and/​or rev it up to what is as much fun as an amusement park ride! Meanwhile we were up close to sea lions (so cute), tankers (huge up close) and had dolphins swimming along side of the boat, so close we could almost touch them. We each had a turn at the wheel … snacks and water was included! So much fun and our ride had ages from 7 — seniors! ALL had fun. Can’t recommend it enough. will even take you to Catalina!
