A regular Sunday night indulgence. I almost always either get the beef ribs or the beef ribs and chicken combination. The ribs have plenty of juicy meat on them with Morfia’s BBQ sauce, they’re great! The chicken is also cooked really well and tastes great… but I always have to have the beef ribs on my plate. Don’t forget dessert. Really don’t. They’re that good.

Morfias need to be on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. A huge surprise. Baby Back ribs were meaty and the BBQ sauce was outstanding. French fries were as good as they get. Like wise the cole slaw and key lime pie. Corn on the cob should have been grilled. Quality 5 stars Quantity 5 stars Service 5 stars Value 5 stars Best baby back ribs in LA. Jack H Playa Vista

Absolutely lovely little, with emphasis on little, hole-in-the-wall with only 9 seats inside and a few more on the outside. Had the baby backs which were heavenly. Fresh side dishes. Six star staff.

Any review over a 3 confused me as to why. Grant it, the employees are friendly. It just isn’t the same quality as years back. I remember liking this place. I think ownership might’ve changed or the operators have. Not that I’d get delivery but the poor attempt at painting over the«free delivery» sign sums it up.(You can still see the sign through the messy paint over cover up). They sacrificed quality. The beef brisket was dry and barely edible. My friend wasn’t feeling his order either. We were both confused as to why people continue to rate this place so highly. For real, it tasted like it was heated up in the microwave after being under heat lamps too long that they removed it from the lamps but now realized it was cold. Sorry, but I won’t return. This used to be a cool little bbq spot. Not sure what happened but time to move on.

Very disappointed. My sister ordered 2 racks of beef ribs through Postmates and invited my whole family over. After eating them, management informed us the next day that one rack was actually pork. Given that I(and my family) have religious dietary restrictions where we NEVER eat pork, we were devastated when we learned that the restaurant sent pork ribs and that we had mistakenly eaten it. NOTOK. Gave them a second chance the other weekend. I placed a pickup order through Eat24 and I was in a rush. Got there and they didn’t even have my order(they said their printer was off). The girl working the front(with glasses) was extremely rude abt it and was making it seem like it was my fault they didn’t get my order. I think she was crabby because they only have two servers, they definitely need to get more. Decided to just eat there and the girl with the glasses continued to give me and bae attitude the entire time, it was just horrible. The other girl who worked there was nice though. They only gets two stars because their beef ribs taste good. Everything else about this place is no bueno.

Everyone knows this place used to have a B health code rating, right? Nonetheless, now that’s it’s an A, I’ve been wanting to try this place out. You know, hole in the wall sorta places are either awesome or terrible. Unfortunately, this one lands in the latter category. I actually think the food was very ok. Like, a solid B at best, which is ok by me. However, these people were at the Shores for a tasting event sorta thing, and the Mac and Cheese Girl was just plain nasty. I did a bit of an Oliver when I got to her: «please, [ma’am], sir, may I have some more?» Got a snarky response. Instead of a simple«im sorry, but we’re trying to save some for everyone» or anything along those lines, i received a self-righteous, filled with loathing, clearly mad at the world response of: «I’m sorry, sirrrr. This is a tasting.» Whoa. Whoa. I know what this is. Why you gotta act like that? Fine. No thanks then. Like I said, I was even going to overlook the previous health code rating of B and wanted to try this place with my own money. However, clearly this person does not want me eating her Mac and cheese. Gotcha. So, I recommend that you all not go here either. Byeeeee.

We went to Morfia’s BBQ and Pie based on the reviews. Look carefully for the small red building on Lincoln. You will drive right by it as it is a small establishment. Seats nine people very tightly inside and six outside on the street. The help behind the counter was very friendly and very helpful. Great customer service! We ordered the Pork Ribs, Brisket, and the Baby Back Ribs. The pork ribs were ok, a bit tough in spots. The sauce is good and you should get some on the side to dip the pork into it. The Brisket was very good. Good sauce and tasted really good. Moist and tender. The Baby Back Ribs were ‘MUCH’ better than the pork ribs. After having both, I would never order the pork ribs, however, I would order the Baby Back Ribs over again. Would like to try the Chicken with the Baby Back. I do not drink soda but they do serve coke in a bottle that everyone likes. The sides were hit and miss. The coleslaw was really good. The corn bread could have been warmed up and served with room temperature sealed butter instead of cubes of ice butter. The potato salad was ok, the fries were solid and seasoned nicely. They also have a nice selection of pies. I had the apple crumb and Chocolate mouse. The apple crump was missing cinnamon and just did not have the best crust. The Chocolate Mouse was decent. Overall this is a good BBQ place to visit. If you want to eat there come early for lunch or dinner. Nice find in Marina Del Rey.

I was getting my car smogged next door and saw this small BBQ joint. I love trying new BBQ places and it’s hard to find good BBQ in LA. I enjoyed 4 beef ribs, side of beans, and a side of collard greens. Staff was very friendly and everything was very clean! I highly recommend coming here! I will be back!

Had a girlfriend in college who made the best Mac & Cheese. She used two cheese packets and heaps of butter. It was quite possibly the best hangover cure ever. So when the gastropub groups started in with their LV mac-n-cheese concoctions — coupled with panchetta and truffle oil and tempura bread crumbs lightly toasted on top — I was thrilled, yes, but it still never compared to ol’ Marlys and her two-packet cheese trick. Thus, you will understand when I tell you one of my favorite things about BBQ is the obligatory side of mac-n-cheese. And here is where Morfia’s fell short. The cheese had zero flava’ and the shells were tots mush. The corn bread was delish, but the cole slaw was just ok.(Try Kewpie mayo, kids!) And the BBQ? Well, let me throw in another narcissistic sidebar: The only thing my mum made was reservations, but even in Portland, Oregon(many, MANY moons ago), that bitch still knew where to get some Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious brisket. Look, my old lady was ordering from the Neiman Marcus X-mas catalog before it was pop culture. This, from a woman in a town that doesn’t even have a Neiman Marcus, people. But I digress. The BBQ was just okay. I may only dine on this delicacy once in a great while but I’ve noshed on these bits at Bludso’s and in Austin, Texas(and possibly Houston?), so I definitely know what’s up. And Morfia’s ain’t it. PS: I was so bummed about the meal that I didn’t bother wasting another $ 8 on dessert. So can’t tell you about the pies and brownies. I did look, tho, and my gut told me none of them were worth the calories. PPS: The service was very wonderful!

I’m a vegetarian. Of course you all will read this and say«what???». The double-fried fries were super crispy and unbelievably delicious. I also had the mac & cheese and baklava cheesecake. The baklava cheesecake was a bit too sweet for my taste, but I finished the whole slice anyway because I can’t waste good food :) My carnivore friends ordered the lunch special #1. I believe it came with beef ribs, pork ribs, and sausage. They said that the pork ribs were good, but more impressed by the beef ribs because they were harder to cook. The dining room was small. There was only 3 or 4 tables inside and another 2 or 3 tables outside. I came at non-rush meal hours so seats were available. There were people constantly coming by to pick up their to-go orders rather than dining there. Overall I was a very happy customer and wouldn’t mind coming back for the fries alone.

BBQ-tiful meat here at Morfia’s. BF and I came in starving and shared the assorted meat platter with sides. A complete spread of 3 meats and 2 sides, and all of it delicious! Highlights were the brisket and pork ribs. I usually ignore cornbread because it seems pretty dry at most places, but theirs was perfectly moist and had just the right amount of crust. After all that, there was no room for pie or the«famous» baklava cheesecake but I’ll try to save room next time. Sparse seating here, you may need to sit outside or take your food home. Morfia’s is right down the street from Baby Blues BBQ Honestly, they’re both winners, but I liked Morfia’s better… try them both!

There are pies. But the other Venice/MDR BBQ places are better. The seating is very awkward. If you end up in one of the awkward spots, have fun. My back was inches away from another guy’s, and any accidental shift of weight = stuck. Insufficiently juicy ribs. Corn bread and sides are average. But if I want good food, I prefer to be won over with difficult-to-perfect meat and ribs rather than just-add-sugar desserts.

I really, really wanted to love this casual, reasonably-priced local BBQ joint. It’s close to me and I’d love a less expensive and easier to get into alternative than Baby Blues. I even went back a few days after my dinner to get lunch, just to make sure it wasn’t just the meal I got. I went with 3 stars because it’s just ok(not bad, but nothing I’d ever crave), and I don’t think I’ll be going back. It’s not 2 stars because the low pricing is unheard of for BBQ, the service is great and friendly and fast. If you have a craving and aren’t picky, your tummy and wallet will be happy here. Me, I guess I’d pay a bit more for better food. — MEATSSWIMINSAUCE. Everything is literally drenched in sauce, and if you remove the sauce, the meats are just kinda plain. No cooked/smoked-for-hours flavor. — DESSERTSHAVEPOTENTIALBUTTHEINGREDIENTSWRECKTHEM. For example, the Peach Cobbler is homemade(yay!) but the peaches are canned, not fresh(no yay). — SIDESAREJUSTMEH. The mac ‘n cheese is made with a cheap low-grade cheese. Yes, it’s got a ton of cheese on it(yay!), but it just tastes kinda plain(no yay), nothing I couldn’t get from the Ralph’s hot food counter. Baked beans are not bad, but they aren’t anything special. There’s no homemade touch to it.

I loved eating here! It is right down the street from us, so convenience is admittedly one factor as to why I loved it. This place frequently smells amazing when I walk by, and when we visited the service was friendly! I ordered a pork hot link spicy sandwich with Mac and cheese and potato salad. The cornbread, sandwich, and sides were all delicious. I hesitate to say it… But this place has sides that are maybe even better than Baby Blues. I will be returning soon, and can’t wait!

I always tell myself I’m going to eat less meat but it’s so hard to resist! A craving for juicy, tender, fall-off-the-bone BBQ took over me after an intense workout at the gym, so I went to Unilocal and found this little gem. It was a done deal after reading they had baklava cheesecake, banana cream pie and other wonderful baked goodies. So my cuz and I ordered their lunch specials; short ends with two sides and brisket plate with two sides. The meat is pretty tender and flavorful and the sides which were mac n cheese, collard greens, baked beans and corn on the cob, were pretty solid. We also ordered baklava cheesecake and banana cream pie for dessert which were fantastic. I have to admit that Baby Blue’s tastes slightly better but Morfia’s is a very close second.

This BBQ joint is no joke. It smells amazing and does not disappoint. It is super tiny(3 tables inside and 2 outside), so it’s more of a to go type of place. Their ribs are out of this world. Not too crazy smoky and not too sweet. The staff is very friendly and helpful when you are so hungry that you can’t make a decision.

Huge portion of meat in the meal(I couldn’t eat it all in 2 meals). The beans and greens were good. The cornbread was not overly sweet and cake like. I liked it. I wished the meat(brisket) had a more smoky flavor, but it was still tasty. The lady at the front desk was really nice and ordering via Unilocal was easy.

This is the best, I mean the absolute best BBQ place I’ve ever been. Not only their food is to die for, their pies are just as good. My favorite is the pecan pie, it will change your life. Why did I give 4 stars only? Service is hit or miss. Sometimes you get great service, sometimes they take an hour to make a simple sandwich. So, make sure you wear your patience hat when you go and you’re not too hungry and you’ll sure have an awesome experience.

This is probably my favorite bbq spot in all of Los Angeles. The service is excellent and very down home. I felt like I was at a friend’s house and of course their bbq is incredible! As well as their pies. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall. There are probably about 4 – 6 seats inside and 5 tables outside. It was a beautiful day so my fiancé and I decided to eat outside. We shared the assorted meat plate, which consisted of ribs, sliced beef and pulled pork. The food was enough for two and also enough to take home. This meat plate included two sides and cornbread. For sides we had mac & cheese and beans. Mac & cheese was amazing! Beans were very savory. The sliced beef and pulled pork are great, but it definitely tastes better with the BBQ sauce. Our favorite is and will always be the ribs! It was nice and smoky with the smoke rings close to the bone. The assorted meat plate was priced perfectly as well. Some places would probably charge well over $ 30 for the amount of food they give, but I believe our bill came out to around $ 30. Whenever I’m in the mood for BBQ, this is the place I’d go. Did I mention service is awesome???

I got the brisket from here, you get a HUGE amount. It also comes with cornbread – cornbread with corn in it is my favorite so I was a big fan. There is a dessert case I didn’t try but the cobblers looked fantastic. The Mac and cheese was also good, pretty traditional southern style. Note: I ordered food for pick up through Unilocal and there was some problem with my order. The guy working was helpful and patient(the issue was with Unilocal/Eat24 not them), but if you are using the Unilocal/Eat24 app to order you may want to call ahead to make sure they actually got your order.

Great food and friendly service! I had the special of the day — brisket tacos. The tacos were loaded with meat and the brisket was fool of flavor and really tender. The mac n cheese was really nice and cheesy and the coleslaw was a great refreshing contrast to the meat. We were a huge group and the server was super friendly and very attentive. I will be back!

I live right by Morfia’s and still decided to order delivery lol. There are two well known BBQ places in the neighborhood — Baby Blues and Morfia’s. I’ve had Baby Blues several times and love the food there, so I thought I should try something new this time. FOOD: We ordered so much food omg… For just the three of us, we got an order of the brisket and an order of the baby back ribs with sides of collared greens, corn bread, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese. Oh, and you can’t forget their famous pies. We tried their sweet potato one. So let’s get down to their BBQ. Portions were huge. Inside our to go box we had a huge pile of beef brisket drenched in BBQ sauce. I was scared how much sauce they doused on the meat. Sure, the meat was still moist, had a nice bark, and still had a little bit of fat on the sides but it was just way too saucy. The ribs on the other hand were slightly more dry but still piled with their BBQ sauce. As for the sides, their cole slaw was standard — slightly tangy and refreshing. It was definitely needed for the overly sauced meat. It was a nice contrast between the two. Mac and cheese was alright(the ones at Baby Blues were way better) and the collared greens were too salty and runny. Corn bread was good but a little dry too. But their sweet potato pie was delicious. The crust was super buttery and flaky. The sweet potato filling though reminded me of a pumpkin pie. I really liked how it wasn’t too sweet and you can taste the subtle spices in it. Delicious! I would definitely come back here just based on their pie.

Morfia’s is great BBQ! We love the pork baby back ribs. The place is tiny so we usually walk there and get take out. I’ve always had very tender meat. We also really like the tri tip. Sauce is good and does not over power meat. Chicken is so so, can be a little bit on the dry side at times. I’d stick with the meat. Sides are good, we love the Mac and cheese and the cornbread. Desserts are all homemade and mouth-watering lay good! Try any of the gorgeous pies!

Normally I write relatively long review for places due to the less than stellar experiences I have, but I will keep this short and sweet: if you’re on the west side and have a craving for BBQ, go to Morfia’s. If you want Pie, go to Morfia’s. If you want excellent service, go to Morfia’s. I normally get the tacos so that I can try all the meats, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. Their coleslaw is easily one of the best I’ve ever had, and their bbq sauce is tier 1. Their cheesecakes and pies are also amazing, you really can’t go wrong with anything there. The service staff is great too; they are always super helpful, and they make you feel welcome and appreciated(even though they are doing you the favor of blessing your tummy with amazing food). In conclusion, Baby Blues is a waste of time and effort, come to Morfia’s for the real, delicious BBQ.

5 stars for Westside barbecue delivery. I think this is your best option if it’s a Saturday night, you’re too tired to cook, and it’s a Netflix and Chill and Toke kind of night. Which is what I am literally doing tonight. Good barbecue is something a woman can only eat in private because the only right way to eat it is like a damn slob Neanderthal heifer with all that hot sweet Texas style sauce and no forks or knives. Just a mop. Anyway, your other option is Baby Blue’s. Two different styles of BBQ but no question to me that Morfia’s is simply using significantly better quality meat. The food tastes cleaner and less fatty than the same items I order from Baby Blue’s. Beef ribs. Chicken. Brisket. Collards. Corn. That’s my jam. A la carte, as a dinner combo, whatever. But those are the things I order routinely. All were solid here. Better than Blue’s. Collards weren’t greasy or overdone either. Corn was fresh and not greasy. I’m from Virginia so I just am not into how sweet and sticky the sauce is but this is what Texas style BBQ is, not Virginia style, so I can’t fault them for that. If it’s too much sauce, I just scrape it off. Nobody out here makes Virginia style cornbread and I think it’s all crap, so I can’t ding them for making the type of cakey cornbread that a lot of people dig. I will be ordering regularly. Delivery was prompt and courteous. a+ for what it is and where it is and the fact that I can hit a damn button on my damn phone and it shows up at my damn door! Ahhhhh my future is full of delicious BBQ.

I had heard alot about this place and finally decided to go for lunch. Its such a cute little tiny place on Lincoln with a funky southern feel to it. Soon as you walk inside you see a big display of delicious pies, they looked soooooo delicious. They had a few lunch specials so I got the rib tips, mac and greens which came with a slice of cornbread, not bad. I enjoyed it. The rib tips were smothered in sauce, I loved the sauce flavor and the amount they gave, the greens had good flavor and the mac was creamy just how i like it. I hate dried stuck together mac and cheese, not my thing. The cornbread was bland but everything else was pretty good. The waitress was taking orders and bringing out food, she was on it since she was the only one. She had energy, she was smiling and thanked all the customers for their patience. I would return here again soon, especially to try a slice of pie!

«Man, vegetarians are missing out.» –Oldest kiddo after finishing a rib. These were the last words of my oldest before slipping into a food coma for the night after devouring some ribs from Morfia’s Ribs & Pies. Im no barbecue expert and barbecue is never the 1st thing on my mind when deciding to get take-out for dinner… but the ribs and brisket at this place were pretty frickin’ amazeballs and got me rethinking my life. After finding Morfia’s on Unilocal and basically bored with my local options I went the extra mile to give Morfia’s a try. Good Call. FOOD: had the Combination Meat Plate and an 8. oz order of the BBQ beef brisket just in case it wasn’t enough… and yes an order of peach cobbler cause you never know. Turns out one or the other is plenty of food for four people. We had leftovers for days, but they were magical days. The BBQ sauce is flavorful and is smothered generously on the food. The brisket falls apart in your mouth. Sooo good! The combo plate is: 3 Beef Ribs, 3 Pork Ribs(Long End), & ½ Chicken and I added 2 sides. Cornbread came with each order. The coleslaw was descent as were the baked beans. SERVICE/MISC.: Very friendly. I should mention that the staff that day was working without AC and in the pure heat of the kitchen, they still managed to have my food ready in no time at all. And served up with a smile. I wish I had more to money on me to tip them better. The indoor dining area is kinda tiny inside too. Good thing there is some outdoor tables. I suggest you order your food to go. I think its what most people do. OVERALL: The service and quality of food made me an instant fan! Though I have a rib place closer to home, Morfia’s is worth the drive and my money. So if you crave some BBQ magic, by all means give this place a try. Cheers.

Decent bbq but nothing crazy to go over. Friend and I split a half rack of pork ribs and a beef brisket lunch combo which came with collard greens and baked beans. Both came with cornbread. This was plenty of food for lunch. The beef brisket was quite tender and moist and the ribs were good with the sauce(although I’d probably prefer ribs on with dry rubs) — but overall nothing particularly stood out from your average BBQ joint. The place is super tiny and best to take out to eat — there’s only a few tables outside and a few inside and it was way too stuffy and hot to eat inside(pretty much no A/C or felt like it). Good if you want a quick BBQ fix to take out but not sure it’s worth going out of your way for.

Amazing BBQ! I stumbled on this place on Unilocal, and was looking for a place that has amazing pork ribs, now this is on the top of my list right now for best pork rib BBQ, the ribs and sauce are AMAZING! When I am in the area doing jobs I would stop by here to pick up food to take home, and I like in the canoga park area which is about 45 minutes away maybe little more with traffic, and the food is STILL really hot by the time I get home. The pork ribs is very very tender, meat falls right off the bone, the collard greens are delicious too, if you love BBQ then this is the place to go, it’s a very very small hole in the wall place, has about 4 tables inside and 4 tables outside, so this place is not for big crowds. It’s better if you are riding solo or with another person to eat here at the location, but if more then would be a better idea to get takeout. 5 stars here

3.5 Stars «Morfia’s?»(spoken like a stunned Keanu Reeves in the Matrix) That’s the kind of expression I had when I saw this place on Lincoln. The street is no stranger to good bbq(with Baby Blue’s nearby) so I was excited to try this place especially because it advertises two of my favorite foods: ribs and pies. I ordered two lunch specials to go and got the beef brisket and rib tips each at $ 9.95. For my two sides on each meal: mac & cheese, beans, fries, and corn. They also offer corn bread. The beef brisket was a very wet version and was soaked in bbq sauce. Sometimes I really like that sort of Memphis style wet bbq but my preference is for dry bbq with sauce applied as needed. I think the sauce masked the lack of tenderness. Rib tips slightly dry and did not meet that give test where the meat falls off only at the smallest tug. But I think what you can’t deny is that Morfia’s knows how to combine bbq with good dessert. Many places have bbq as the star and neglect the dessert but here they have pretty good pies and corn bread. The blueberry cobbler was like a mega-buttery muffin and that was quite good. The cheesecake was the kind of decadence you expect and the crust was fantastic. If you’ve never really tried different bbqs then Morfia’s is a good introduction to bbq without spending too much. Rare that lunch bbq is under $ 10 for all the food you get. Additionally their service is tremendous. Overall, I feel like it should be called Morfia’s Pies and Ribs because they really excel in dessert over the bbq.
