My burger here was disappointing. I ordered the Maui because I love avocado. There was BARELY any avocado in it. I hate wasting food, but I could just not finish this burger and I definitely did not want to take it home. I was excited to come here because the last time I came here a couple years ago they had bottomless fries. They do not have that any longer. Their mojitos are pretty good for the happy hour, but other than that, I don’t think I would ever come back here.

Very good food and atmosphere. Would say only problem is they can get VERY busy so call ahead to check on seating. Very nice bar area as well if your looking to watch a game.

One of my favorite local happy hour hangouts. Great value for what you for this area. The nachos are fantastic. You can’t beat their we’ll drink prices and Ken, one of the regular servers, is friendly and remembers our drink orders. We will be coming back soon.

Walked into the restaurant and no one was there to greet us. Waited about five minutes for someone to finally approach us and be seated. We were then brought waters and I found something that looked a lot like a booger in my cup. Immediately sent it back. Next, our food comes and I found hairs in my burger. Called our server to send it back. The manager came to take the food but was very rude about it. He didn’t seem like he cared and didn’t apologize. I will never go back.

Came here on a Friday night. Was packed but did not have any issue with the wait time. Our server Blake was very friendly and gave us great customer service. During our meal the manager himself Bradley came out and greeted us to make sure everything was fine. Awesome ! Not to mention the pricing for the food is very reasonable and good portioned. Will definitely be coming again and referring friends and family

Exactly what the overall Unilocal rating says: 3.5 stars. I have a special place for Islands in my heart because it’s one of the first restaurants I ever tried when I moved to MdR. The food is good and tourist-priced to match it’s location. But, parking is free and usually lots of spaces are available. It’s such a nice location. Makes for a good lunch/dinner spot for families visiting staying within the area. I always get the sliders because they are bite sized and not messy. A great food to pair with drinks while socializing over dinner with friends. I’ve also heard the chicken wrap is good. The servers are really friendly and you do feel like you’re on a vacation when you come here. Overall, I do recommend to check this place out.

I took my family out to eat last Friday, and we came here, it was busy but we had such great service. The server Rob was amazing, who really made our night. He even gave us free beer samples to figure out what to order. The manager came by to talk to us, and he made us feel important. It just seems like they know their stuff. We most definitely will back! Chad

Went into this Islands last week, normally don’t venture into corporate establishments, but decided to give it a try with two friends. Surprisingly food was decent, service was great. Atmosphere resembles a Red Robin. Comfy. We sat near what I guess was the take out area and we’re having a pleasant meal… UNTIL we heard the manager(maybe owner?) yelling at an employee! Actually screaming… So obnoxious! What is this, Hells Kitchen?! Still falling victim to old«yelling at employee» bit? Felt sorry for whoever it was. Anywho, probably won’t be back for awhile unless I’m feeling nostalgic for an old Honeymooners episode.

let me just start by saying island is one of my favorite restaurants, and the service here was TERRIBLE!!! The waiter threw his pen at me(not on purpose but still wtf!!!), he literally just came to take our order and left ! My water was empty and he didn’t check up on us not even once ! Like wth kind of customer service is that! And there was NOONE in here I don’t understand. You can see by my check ins that I eat at islands more than once a month but I will NEVER come back to this location based on their service ! I felt neglected and unappreciated!!!

I was at Islands restaurant in Marina Del Ray. The service was good. I orders Mavericks, the Burger was really juicy, and delicious. I enjoyed my food a lot.

This isn’t the swankiest spot but we wanted burgers and cold beers and the tables were not sticky. This place gets 4 stars because our server Ian was ONIT, modestly, efficiently and seamlessly taking care of our every whim before we had a chance to know something was missing. For example, I was deeply contemplating having my tubes tied as the family next to us went about convincing their 5 year old in a Spider-Man costume he’s «A Beast» when Ian discreetly suggested a quieter table. Same goes with my bunless to lettuce wrap request as if I held a sign, please don’t tempt me with carbs. This is a corporate place, a family place. Chances of finding service deserving of the Château Marmont are about one in a million. Thanks Ian!

Our server was awesome everyone was very friendly and approachable! My Hanger was ice cold! My bluenami Turkey burger on wheat with endless fries was the bomb! I will definitely be back whenever I am in the area!

Extremely convenient as Islands is walking distance from our apartment, so when we have those spontaneous burger cravings, it gets the job done! The food is always on point, but the reason why I give it 3 stars and not 5 is the service. For some reason they’re just really slow… and not so attentive. We came on a Sunday afternoon so of course there was football going on, but the place wasn’t extremely busy. It looked like about half the restaurant was full, and the bar was pretty full. But the servers all hang out and chit chat, and goof around with some of the regulars at the bar. The crowd is also somewhat… trashy? Just people I typically don’t enjoy being around, esp not when I’m trying to enjoy a meal. Again, mostly for the convenience and the good burgers.

Horrible, absolutely horrible. Found a fried bug in my fries. All they did was take my food off the bill but still charged my friend… the manager took the plate away from me right when I showed him the bug. They«compensated» me by giving me a $ 50 islands gift card, why would I want to go back to a place where a bug was fried along with my food? To make things worse they said they’ll send me a $ 50 visa gift card but NEVERDID. Avoid this place, extremely unsanitary.

casual night out with friends at islands. it wasn’t my decision to eat here buuuuut go with flow right? pretty empty for a sunday night, but i have never seen this location crowded before. we were greeted immediately and sat at a booth. my friends ordered the spinach artichoke dip, nachos and hawaiian burger and i ordered the asian salad. everything was average. dip was kind of cold, i didnt try my friends nachos and my other friend didn’t touch her fries because they were soggy my salad was alllllright. nothing special. in my opinion, islands is okay to go to if someone else wants it. never would be my first choice. their burgers arent bad though. and the bottomless fries are pretty cool when they’re hot!

Props for all the variables, but Burger lounges is just better all around — better burgers and fries. This place has a better atmosphere though and are way more spacious

If I had to choose my last meal on earth, it would be an order of Island’s chicken tenders and unlimited refillable fries. I wouldn’t be surprised if the foodie in you is scoffing at me right now. It’s no Michelin starred spot, it’s a chain, and it’s just your classic, casual American fare. So what you may ask has convinced me to favor Islands over all the other worldly, inventive, expensive dishes I’ve tried in my extensive international eating adventures?(Paris, Italy, South Africa, India, Denmark, Spain, Greece to name a few.) First off, I have now been eating at the Island’s since I was a baby(about 22 years). In all that time, I have never strayed from my order of Jr. Tiki Tenders with crispy fries, and neither has the Island’s. I have a lot of respect for that kind of consistency. If you can frequent a restaurant for that long with the same order, and always leave just as happy as the last time, that to me, is pretty damn impressive. Secondly, they do them extremely well. I’m a BIG fan of chicken tenders and so whenever a menu happens to have them, the child in me gets riled up and can’t not order them. That’s to say, I’ve had a LOT of chicken tenders in my lifetime. And time and time again, they all fail to measure up to those at Island’s. Thirdly, THEIRFRIES. And no, I’m not even referring to the fat kid’s dream come true policy: «unlimited fry refills.» The fries themselves are some of the best I’ve ever had. Always fried to a golden crisp(without even having to ask) and seasoned with salt and pepper, these handcut beauties will have you lovestruck and semi-insane with obsession. If you still have doubts, well, pull the stick out of your butt and go back to your overpriced schmancy pea-sized portions. But if you, like me, also have a child-hood/life-long passion for well-done classic American kid’s menu dishes, find your local Islands immediately. I promise you will not be disappointed. Tiki Tenders til I die.
