I’ve been a fan of Chart House my whole life especially since my family worked in a Chart House when I was younger but this one in the Marina is Home as well. Eric and Rosco are some of the best waiters this establishment has. Not only do they have the history of Chart House down to a T, they have the experience as well by being with the company for many years. Every celebration(Birthday, Holiday, Anniversary, Graduation) we go to Chart House for appetizers and drinks. The Kim Chee Calamari, Herb Steamed Artichoke, and Sizzling Mushrooms are some of the best appetizers that we order along with a cocktail and beer. If you are a chocolate lover like myself, the Chocolate Lava Cake is for you!(don’t forget to order it 30 minutes in advance) it oozes with chocolate and flavor. Highly Recommend. Also, if they offer you to join the Landry’s Select Club — JOIN. The club is a great customer loyalty program if you go to any of the restaurants owned by Landry’s. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you guys!

We popped in without a reservation on Friday night. We were sat right by the water without a wait. Appetizer: steamed artichoke — delicious! Loved the aoli dipping sauce Wine: great selection. Went with a recommendation from the server. A great choice. Dinner: filet and ny strip steak medium rare with sautéed vegetables. Cooked perfectly and delicious. Dessert: crème brûlée — possibly the best part of the meal. It was a great dinner. Not rushed at all. Perfect dinner tempo. I cannot wait to go back. We live on the Marina so we walked. Parking is only valet.(Might as well über and get a bottle of wine)

Good bartender and tasty drinks he invents like this one, the«Harry»…cool cucumber Hendricks and«spanked» basil with a spicy blend on the rim, yummay… Thanks Clark! Fun with my gal pal and getting some food, great chill evening by the fire.

This was my first time here and my experience was amazing. The food was delicious and lived up to every one of my expectations. But most of all, my server Paul set the mood for my entire evening. His service was impeccable and his attentiveness left me speechless. I will definitely be back and when I do I hope Paul is working.

Like Brad S I remember the Chart House as a great salad bar and a wonderful chicken dinner. Those days the money was tight so I ate at places that the food was good and worthwhile. Now for 18 years I’ve kept a boat across the street and have only been in to this location once or twice over the years. Live in Santa Monica so usually go to the restaurants in and about that part of town, I guess less time with the boys and more with the wife. Well last week nine of us went to the Chart House and all ordered New York Steaks because the Sea Bass was sold out. Only one person finished their piece of meat. Need I say anymore? It seems all the steak houses are gone and the only place that has consistently good meat is «The Little Door». Sad state of affairs.

I just had a GREAT birthday experience. Sam(a manager) served my wife and I due to the fact of some short staffing. He was attentive and interactive. He has a great personality and in my opinion is an asset to the Landry Group. As usual the cuisine was excellent as well as the ambience. I go to restaurants that are greasy spoons to chef select all over the world, and I must say this evening will go on my «redux» list. Thanks Sam and staff!

Unfortunately this place has deteriorated over the years in almost every way which is probably why it was virtually empty at 7pm when we had dinner. When we arrived, there was no hostess. When seated, the busboy was more responsive than waitress. An issue resulted in manager coming over with poor explanation«that’s just how we do it». Prime rib was fatty and inedible. With so many choices in the marina, we will go elsewhere. That’s how we do it when the food and management are well below the minimum standards. Very disappointing since the Chart House used to be one of our favorites.

Had the ‘Thanksgiving Dinner’ at the Chart House in Marina del Rey last night; turkey, gravy(very bland gravy), cornbread stuffing, creamed spinach or what was supposed to be creamed spinach –a bit too gooey for me, mashed pots(those were OK) a small bit of cranberry and frankly at $ 28 bucks, I could have gotten pretty much the same meal at Norms probably for around $ 12. I could tell the turkey hadn’t been roasted in house. The slices were machine cut so the whole thing was probably from pre-prepared restaurant fare and was severed almost warm, not hot. The service just fell apart at the end of the meal however. We all had pecan pie (ordered when we ordered our dinners) and when it was served, it was refrigerator cold! We had to flag down our waitress and send them back just to get the chill off them. I had ordered a cup of decaf that was served before the pie and by the time the pie came (a lousy cheap pecan pie –I’ve had better from the day old shelf at Ralphs) I had finished most of my coffee — once again had to get up and flag down a buss boy to get another cup and they had to brew a new pot just to do that. So there sat my pie for another 10 minutes till a thin tasting refill on my coffee finally arrived. To say the least that pretty much put the cork in my bottle. If I’m paying that much for a dinner — add another $ 8 for a glass of wine, I really expected a first class meal since they were charging me for one! Won’t do that ever again!

15 – 20 years ago Chart House was one of the finest seafood restaurants… at least I thought they were. How times have changed. 80’s décor, 80’s menu, but the staff and host were very nice and helpful… just not the polished-version that I had experienced in the years past. We stopped in for drinks and pu-pus after a dismal dinner at SMYC and hoped a few libations and the marina view would perk up the evening. Libations — good; except I watched our waiter and the bartender argue over my order; Bourbon Bulliet. I saw the barkeep grab the Bulliet green label bottle(which is the Rye), so when I told the waiter that this drink wasn’t bourbon, but the Rye-version he returned it to the barkeep and asked for the correct drink. The barkeep swore up and down that he grabbed the right bottle. Where’s the integrity nowadays? Our waiter and host — awesome. Barkeep — get it right the first time and work on the honesty.

Great cadence and wonderful service by our server Eddie and Manager Erica! We sat the the center high-booths and enjoyed and nice view of the marina. Lighting was perfect. So. the menu tour delivered to us was ONPOINT. A very enthusiastic service staff. We started off with kimchi calamari and then took the recommendations offered by our server; Ahi and prime rib which were both prepared delicious. The seasonal bread pudding was YUMmy! Really enjoyed our dinner.

Had high expectations but this restaurant fell completely short. The service was absolutely awful. Came with a party of 7, and throughout our dinner we had 5 different waiters. When we needed something we had to get up and go ask for it. There were orders that were incorrect and they were never corrected. Absolutely insane, and would never come here again. The manager was made aware of the terrible service and agreed to taking care of part of the bill. I hope others have a better experience.

Took my dad to this place for his birthday. I made a reservation in advance just in case. They had called me the day of to confirm & when I called them back they claimed I never made a reservation. They asked me if I had put it under a different name & I kept saying no & that they had called me earlier to confirm so I was confused how all of a sudden my reservation disappeared. After what seemed like forever the guy finally goes, «OH ! There you are. Okay soo. what did you want to do? Change it or cancel it ??» To which I said no, I said I was calling to confirm. Already off to a rocky start lol ! We get there & were seated at a nice table with a card for our party thanking us for choosing them to celebrate. When we were finally ready to place our orders we did so then waited what seemed like an eternity for our food. This place gets a decent crowd for dinner but it definitely wasn’t packed enough to justify how long it took to get our food. When we finally did get it I didn’t enjoy it as much as I expected. I ordered the prime rib & was a little disappointed when I had ordered it medium well but it came medium rare. I didn’t want to wait an eternity for another one so I ate it anyway. The stuffed shrimp was good but lacking in something, scallops were good. The scallops italia & their clam chowder were my favorite dishes of the night. If you come here I recommend those dishes for sure !! My mom’s chicken was okay, tasted just like chicken I could make at home, nothing special. Service could have been better. Our waitress would come by but not too often where I would see the other waiters at their tables all the time making sure people had what they needed. For the price of this dinner I expected more. A bit disappointing /:

Awesome happy hour menu everyday with a beautiful view of the Marina! Small bites and drinks ranging from $ 5 to $ 7. I say«small bites» lightly, as we left stuffed after ordering 4 plates and two glasses of wine. We had the fried artichokes, which were nice because they were lightly fried. The aioli dipping sauce was great. The lettuce wraps were delicious as well… chicken and vegetables in a teriyaki-like sauce. The calamari and firecracker shrimp were tossed in the same Spicy Kim Chee sauce… the shrimp were my favorite! Excellent staff and service… what more could you want out of a happy hour?

Horrible! So disappointed, would not recommend wasting your time or money on this place. I made reservations for my boyfriends birthday on Wednesday night. We arrived and waited 10 minutes for a host to even come over to the host stand to greet us.(The restaurant wasn’t even that busy, about half full). Finally we were seated and waiting about 15 minutes until our waitress came over to greet us. I even saw her walk past our table multiple times without acknowledging we were there! Service was horrible! We got our waters and my boyfriend found a bug in his! When we told our server she told us that was because they sprayed the building that day and things were falling from the ceiling! How is that supposed to make us feel better. Honestly we should have left at the point! We ordered the shrimp and crab meat appetizer. It was very bland and my boyfriend felt like it had been pre made and sitting around. For our main courses, my boyfriend ordered taliapia, which they ended up being out of after he put his order in, and I ordered the scallops. We were not impressed by either. My scallops were luke warm and the rice from my boyfriends dish was hard and not fully cooked. We sat around waiting for our waitress to come because we didn’t have enough silverware on the table which was also frustrating. For desert we had the recommended lava cake which was bland and nothing special at all. Our total bill was $ 164 which was not at all worth the money. I live in the Marina area and will never be returning or recommending this restaurant.

How lucky we were to be driving up to this place on the early evening of this past full moon! We got to witness the splendor of that magnificent orb just a little ways above the horizon with the boat masts in the foreground. Awesome! Our valet was polite and patient while we extracted ourselves from our vehicle after driving for over 2 hours. We were shown to our table tucked away in a corner with windows on two sides. Such a beautiful view. Our server was pleasant and helpful. I ordered their Lobster Bisque to start, and then their salad bar, and then the Crab Cakes. The soup was exquisite. The salad bar had a nice(and large) selection of items from which to choose, including black caviar. The crab cakes were good, although a wee bit salty for my taste. The wine we chose was an un-oaked California Chardonnay and it was very nice. Overall, I liked the place, the food and the service and would not hesitate to go again for some special occasion, because it is a bit on the expensive side.

Great restaurant if you want a fine dining experience with a pretty good selection of items. Valet parking is located right outside of the restaurant and is only about $ 5. I believe you have to valet. The person who sat us at our table was nice, fun, and entertaining. They have a lot of fish selection and a good selection of meat. We tried the calamari and friends appetizer and it was some of the freshest calamari that we have ever had. Appetizers run about $ 15 per appetizer. They have a good selection of bottles of wine, smaller selection by the glass. The prices of the bottles are highly inflated so I would suggest bringing your own and paying the corkage fee. They also have a good selection of mixed drinks and a tiny selection of beers. I had the crab cakes. They were very fresh and filling. My hubby had the NY steak — it was full of flavor and served with Yukon mashed potatoes. The prime rib looked great as well. We ended with the chocolate cake(it takes 25 minutes to make, so order early) and it was amazing, probably the best part of the meal! If you go, expect to pay at minimum about $ 50+ per person. The food is tasty and the service is great.

Thanksgiving dinner here was very special for my brother and I. He had the prime rib, of which he is a connoisseur… he said it was incredible. I elected to have the traditional turkey dinner with stuffing and mashed potatoes. Moist, flavorful, delicious! I ordered a lobster bisque to go(heavenly) and we split the molten lava cake. There was simply nothing that could have improved anything we ate, it was perfect. We agreed that we will do this every year instead of cooking from now on. The service was impeccable, thank you Roscoe. Overall, a great way to spend Thanksgiving! I can be sure it’s great for any date night or other celebration, too. Highly recommend.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit Chart House on several occasions for company dinners. While I’ve always had a pleasant experience, keep in mind that meals tend to come out to around $ 60 per person(sans alcohol). Although I’ve never had to pay myself, I find the prices to be inflated compared to what you get. There is a complimentary bread/cracker basket with each meal, which they will refill. Appetizers run you around $ 12 – 15, entrees in the $ 25-$ 40 range. The amount of food is pretty sufficient, but again, I find quality and preparation disproportionate with the prices. In addition to seafood, they also have steak dishes that run in the $ 30-$ 40 range. The fish is decently fresh, but I find myself expecting more given their proximity to the ocean. We always order a bunch of appetizers for the table, but the fried offerings are pretty average – fried and oily – and resultantly none have particularly stood out to me as must-repeaters. As for the entrees, in my opinion the best thing to order is one of the fresh catches. Preparation will be minimal(blackened, grilled, or baked), as it should be for fresh fish. The«signature»(non-fresh catch) fish dishes on the menu taste overly fancied-up to me(the Spiced Yellowfin Ahi was so sweet that it tasted like candy). The vegetable side dishes are buttered to the point where they are glistening. I’ve tried most if not all of their desserts, and my thoughts are this: the«Molten Lava Cake” – they push for you to order it at the start due to the claimed 30 minutes of preparation – is good but not the best deal. The only dessert I find worth its weight in gold is the Key Lime Pie(and this is coming from a Floridian), which is so tart and sweet that it nearly numbs your tongue on contact. Quite a luxury considering the amount of sugar required to do this, but it’s darn good. As a plus, the restaurant is on a nice spot right on the marina, meaning you get a great view if you’re sitting or facing outside. Service is always well-meaning but has occasionally been slow. They have a large parking lot, but valet is annoyingly mandatory. My overall impression is that their prices are too high to warrant coming here under my own accord; still, if you don’t go in with high expectations, it does make for a somewhat solid dinner experience if you happen upon a chance to come. Recommended Dish — Best bet is to go for one of the fresh fish catches(at the top-right of the menu), and close with a Key Lime Pie.
