This little treasure is a great addition to Marietta Square. Not only do they offer a wide assortment of Christmas decorations, from cute novelty to gorgeous spiritual ornaments, they offer hard-to-find candy from my youth. The shop also has a yummy cheesecake and dessert counter plus fudge and various other hand-made candies. When we have out of town guests, this shop is definitely on our must-see list.

I cannot get enough of the Ye Olde Christmas and Candy Shoppe on Marietta Square. I could literally spend hours shopping for Christmas ornaments to give as gifts, there is something for everyone there. The creaking of the wood floor brings me back to my childhood as does the nostalgic candy section. My favorite though are the spiced nuts and fudge. Great place to stop in for dessert and coffee before a show at the Strand Theater. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I have walked past this store more times than I care to mention; finally one day, with a strong craving for sweets, I stumbled inside. I was greeted very pleasantly and more than taken care of. If Christmas is your holiday of choice you will be happy to know they have everything you could want from creative ornaments to the boring stuff too! But personally not my style. The home made fudge, chocolate pretzels, and the many delectable candies are enough to make you drool! From the moment I walked in I had a connection with the employees and they made me feel like family answering all of my seemingly dumb questions. I will be visiting this establishment much more often in the future, especially for the home made style treats. In conclusion, if you are on the square and have a hankering for sweets this little shop is for you.

Initially I loved this store — very nicely done and planned to visit again when I had more time to shop. This first visit I bought 4 packages of the tiny lights on a wire at $ 8.00 a piece. Three of the sets were warm lighting and the fourth was bright light. The warm lights were so dull you could hardly tell that they were on — even in the dark they looked dull. Yesterday I drove up to Marietta to return the three sets of warm lights. Found out quite bluntly that all sales were final and she showed me their sign at the register. She also said that because the lights worked they could not refund. BEWARNED — make sure that you test lights, etc. because even if they work poorly you will not get a refund. I threw them in the trash can outside and won’t darken their door again.

I wandered into the Christmas Shoppe today for the 2nd time in the past 6 months or so. The first time was fairly uneventful. I bought some overpriced pralines, looked around, and went about my day. I probably would have given this place 3 stars if it were based on my previous visit. Tonight’s visit really did earn its’ shining 2 star rating. It was nearly surreal. Let’s just get the food situation out of the way: there’s much better in this city for much cheaper. Food is treated as an ancillary business here and it’s reflected(profoundly) in the quality of the food. Despite poor quality, it will still break the bank. My interactions with the staff this go ’round were equally frustrating and frightening. The one lady kept talking really nasty to other customers and not being very helpful, at all. The other lady looked on the verge of a nervous breakdown. You could definitely feel the resentment seething from the one lady. There was no holiday cheer to be found anywhere in that soul. No, ma’am. I stayed behind and got some sweets as my friends ran for the hills out of this awkward little store. I got home and ate my cookie. Well, I tasted it. It tasted like a pancake with cake frosting. I guess it was my proverbial lump of coal for the sins of the year.

the Christmas decorations were a great touch. There was a dining area in the back for the coffee and pastries. The staff was cheerful and helpful. I couldn’t pull my wife away from the fudge counter. They let you test taste! There were, according to my expert, a number of traditional fudge and a number of different never seen flavors. The chocolate was good. The dark chocolate was okay(my wife makes a secret family recipe past down to her from her father and will be past down to our sons at some time, but not to me) We purchase several different flavors(my favorite was the orange creamsicle flavored one) A quaint shop on a quaint center of town mall. There were a number of coffees to buy. A lot of Christmas knick knacks to ponder over and purchase. If I hadn’t been there, my wife would stayed for an hour.

Very friendly family owned business ! I love how they carry the old fashion candy I can’t find anywhere. The store is beautiful at Christmas time and they carry very unique Christmas décor for great prices !! I fully enjoy this store every time I visit.
