I first heard of The Holistic Approach Wellness Center through . They were having a special for a seasalt foot scrub, detox body wrap and a 60 minute body massage for $ 39 plus $ 20 for gratuity. I checked their website out and read a few reviews and thought I would give it a try. I should have dug further and read more of the reviews on Unilocal because the experience was more of a hassle then anything. They had mentioned when I was on the phone booking the appt that they were moving. I called 4 days before to get the address, someone called 2 days later didn’t leave the address, I called again they said they would email it to me, they didn’t. An hour before the appt I called and they were finally able to text me the new address which was appreciated. When I got there after filling out the paperwork, the lady who was doing the massage greeted me and was very friendly. The massage was decent, when it was over she thought I was leaving and I mentioned that I was also suppose to be scheduled for the Detox Body Wrap and Seasalt Foot Scrub, she seemed confused and said she would go check. This is where it gets really bad. Here is what they describe the Body Wrap experience as on their website. «Beginning with a modified lypossage session that breaks up toxins and stimulates the lymphatic system, the skin is then dry brushed to open pores, stimulate sweat glands and increase blood circulation to the underlying tissues. After your custom-made mud is applied, ace bandages are deliberately placed in areas to assist with the inch-loss process as well as to contour the body in such a way that the hips are lifted. Plastic wrap is then applied and you are moved to a massage table between blankets for heat distribution and comfort. During this time you may choose to have your hands and feet massaged for added relaxation. Total service time between 2−½ and 3 hours» What I ended up getting was the massage therapist came back in the room, there was no dry brushing, no lypossage session, no mud, no plastic wraps, she brought in wet ace bandages, half warm half cold, and tried to wrap them around me, they kept falling off, she apologized several times because she didn’t know how to wrap because it was the first time she had ever done it??? I can’t believe they are offering a service and sending someone in to perform who has never done it before? What an insult to a paying customer. Well after we got the wraps on I waited in a stifling hot room in cold bandages, no one ever offered a pillow for my head, as shown in their picture. Then when I was done they sent someone else in to remove the bands? No concern for the discretion of their clients at all regarding this. As if that wasn’t bad enough the foot soak was a joke, on their website they offer a foot detox which is what I thought they were offering(again the picture shows a comfortable chair) well I was told to wait, I did for 15 mins, in a hot room again no one offered water or asked about the temperature, I went downstairs to ask if it was going to happen I would told to go back in the room it was coming. I did, well someone came in with a plastic tub with cold water and rose petals??? Soaking ones feet in a cold waste bin lined with a plastic garbage bag is NOT proper foot soak oh yes and the only chair in the room was an uncomfortable wicker one. This fortunately only went on for 10 mins and then it was all over. I would expect a business offering a deal like this to want to impress the customers, but they are getting so many bad marks on here it is as if they don’t even care. When I was done and went down to tip they didn’t even ask how it went and whether I would want to come back? Not a good practice if you care and expect return customers. In addition, the office smelled from Synthetic petrochemical candles being burned in the front office and the rooms and whole house smelled of new paint. Most of the Naturopaths I work with recommend No VOC paint for their patients because toxic fumes weaken the immune system. I am honestly a bit baffled by this experience I was really hoping for #1 what I paid for and #2 a nice relaxing experience. Unfortunately it turned out to be neither.

WARNINGDONOTGOHERE –I bought the HalfOff Depot voucher and I usually have good luck but not here. First appointment they cancelled the day before — ok so I rescheduled and they called again the day before to confirm and gave a different number to call to cancel if I needed. I showed up 10 minutes before the appointment to a run down building with caution tape all around it– yikes! I made my way to their door which was locked. Ok I’m early so I will wait. I tried twice to open the door and another man came and knocked on the door and tried to open it and then he left. Two minutes before my appt I called and there was no answer, so I left a message. I waited a few more minutes and remembered the different number so I called and left another message(so far I am not relaxed by this place). I got a call back a few minutes late by the receptionist saying she was there. I informed her the door was locked, she said it wasn’t(?) REALLY I heard her walk to the door and UNLOCKIT! She opens the door and acts like nothing happened and gives a snobby I’m sorry. She asks me to fill out paperwork and I tell her this is a horrible first impression. She apologizes again with an eye roll. This place is for real I’m asking myself??? I’m taken to a room and told the«doctor» is not here and will be with me as she had another patient. Close to ½ hour after my appt time«she» shows up, well I am really mad by now after all this craziness. She introduces herself and ASKS how I am — so I proceed to tell her what just happened. and she CUTS me off telling me to contact Halfoff Depot for a refund. You bet I will and of course she doesn’t want to hear how unprofessional she and her snobby receptionist is!!! She said I was not there early– REALLY how would you know when you told me you were down the street!!! I told her I would write a bad review and she laughed to show you what kind of unprofessional she is and her snobby receptionist. You have been warned this place is a joke. I am a concierge at a 5 star hotel and have lived in Atlanta for over 25 years and have never experienced such horrible unprofessional people like this place. in response: This«doctor» makes up stuff as she goes along– she claims she was there but told me she was down the street? I was there 10 minutes early in front of LOCKED door that myself and another person tried to enter-when you lie and make things up it is obvious, I did not berate your staff of one, I told her this was a bad first impression which it was. Also, I stated that I called only a few minutes before and after my appt in my initial review. YOUHAVEBEENWARNED– DONOTGOHERE. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY. I really don’t have to say much more, your lack of professionalism will run you out of business yourself.

I first heard of The Holistic Approach Wellness Center through . They were having a special for a seasalt foot scrub, detox body wrap and a 60 minute body massage for $ 39 plus $ 20 for gratuity. I checked their website out and read a few reviews and thought I would give it a try. Well like the other reviewer stated, the rooms are freezing cold and way too light then what I am accustomed to; therefore I think that made massage not relaxing at all. The young lady did an ok job but I honestly had better. Once my massage was over, I then was moved to another room which was cold as well, I only had on undergarments with a robe. I sat in a chair and a bucket of hot water with what I am assuming the seasalt was in and I soaked my feet for thirty minutes. My feet were being dried while I listened to one of the young ladies talk to another young lady whom she was training about how her mother ordered some sort of exspensive steamer needed for the body wraps but it wasn’t necessary because she could have just purchased a crockpot from walmart and used it(which I looked at the machine and agreed). She also begin to tell the trainee that the building was old, had electrical problems and that the electricity would go out in certain rooms if too many things are plugged in… guess what, the electricity went out. I was then moved to another room to have the body wrap. The young lady had to come back several times to check and see it the wraps had warmed up… finally they were warm enough to wrap around me… but they really were not hot enough(mind you it is still freezing cold in the room). I was wrapped up for 30 minutes then I left feeling not relaxed nor satisfied. Maybe it was just a bad day for them. I don’t know if I am willing to give it another try. Another thing is, there were no candles, peppermint, chamomile, vanilla scents(aromatherapy) at all!

I appreciate an overall holistic-approach spa/service provider in the area. My first visit for was reflexology, and it was a great session. My second visit was for a massage and it was sort of bare-bones. The massage itself was nice, but the room was freezing cold and too light(dark and warm are better for massage!) and the therapist walked out for a few minutes at some point(not sure why?) then came back and finished the massage, which sort of broke up the relaxation. Also, even with that break, the massage was cut a few minutes short of my hour, which I never appreciate. Other than that, it was OK. While the building it’s housed in isn’t necessarily glamorous and the build-out is simple, it’s easy to get to, easy to park, and if the services and pricing are a good value, it’s possibly worth the visit.
