Oxtail was the real deal!!! It was the best I have had in Atlanta. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was simply decorated and clean… felt like I was back home…

Great food! They were out of the stew chicken when I went on a weekday but other than that it was delicious. Good portions with enough to take home with you. Small place so don’t miss it else you’ll miss out! First time here and definitely will try to find time to come back. Great lunch specials for those looking for a different place to eat during lunch break, etc.

The food here is awesome. If you’re looking for a great Caribbean spot with the Caribbean feel included… come here! The food is reasonably priced and cooked to order! I’ve been here a few times, never been disappointed. Tricia is the owner and will most likely serve you, tell her I sent you

I no longer have to go to Franklin Road to risk my life for Jamaican food… Spice It Up is the spot! The curry goat was very tasty and tender. The beef patty was full of beefy goodness inside a nice flakey pocket. I will definitely go back to partake of some oxtails. Oh yeah… The staff was great as well. They were very engaging and personable.

Some of the best Jamaican I’ve had, although I did not care for the brown stew chicken(a little dry). Serving size is generous. I got the small brown stew chicken and the small oxtails and the amount of food was the same as a large elsewhere. The rice and plantains were delicious. I also got their homemade pineapple ginger juice. It was great, but I noticed the date on it was 7⁄25 — that’s concerning being that today is August 1st. I’d go back if I were in the area.

This place has healthy options at an affordable price. My biggest criticism is that the yucca fries and curry chicken needed more seasoning. I would come back.

Sigh. Disappointed. I was hoping to discover a tasty gem in the area, but I couldn’t even finish my meal. The menu is mostly spicy items, which is ok since that’s the point. I got fried chicken(mostly batter and not much meat, greasy, and sadly, NOT cooked all the way through so I couldn’t finish). The plantains were good. Rice and peas tasted old. The only sides are slaw and cabbage, nothing green. The sweet tea is served in individual bottles with date stickers on them — showing it was made a week before I got it. And it tasted old. Staff was really nice, but I won’t be returning, sadly.

Ehhhh. It’s okay I guess. I wish I would of tried something different like the jerk chicken. But I got the curry chicken. After having a lot of curry chicken in my life which is a really flavorful dish. This curry chicken was bland and the sauce taste watered down and was not that good. Maybe one of the worst I have had. Luckily I found them on scout mob and didn’t have to pay full price. I love curry chicken, it is my favorite dish and there curry chicken was very bland and taste like it was watered down and also looks like it was watered down. very disappointing me and my coworkers will NOT be coming back. On the good side tho the plantains were VERYVERY good.

This is hidden deliciousness! The salmon alfredo was amazing. It had a bit of a kick but I still managed to gobble down my portion. The serving size was more than plentiful. Not to mention the scoutmob for 50% off. Plus the staff was very friendly and attentive

Pretty good fun and large portions! The jerk chicken is a tad spicy for me, but I still scarf it down like there is no tomorrow. I would love it if they would add mac n cheese to their menu.

Spice It Up Café is its own little place on S Fairground St. Their parking lot is small. But you can park anywhere in front of their building. The space is large. They have some lunch specials entrees that comes with a soda. It looks like most of the entrees from the menu is on the lunch menu except for the Ox Tail. I tried their Ox Tail and their Jerk Chicken. Their Jerk was sweet and spicy. I was expecting more spicy flavors though. I didn’t feel the heat was there for me. If you like your Jerk sweet, this is the place to go. The Ox Tail wasn’t bad. The stew didn’t have the deep, comforting flavor I was looking for. However, I still enjoyed it. The entrees came with rice and peas, plantains, and cole slaw. I liked their plantains, They cooked it well. The cole slaw was just a cole slaw. I didn’t like their rice and peas. Spice it Up Café is an all right Jamaican place. The people who work there seem nice.

Visited Spice It Up after purchasing a Groupon. The food was good and the people who work there are very nice. The fish tacos were were the highlight of the meal but everything we had was excellent. I definitely recommend checking it out!

Spice It Up has great curry chicken!!! On my way home from work one evening, refusing to cook, I decided to stop by Spice It Up for some Jamaican Vittles. The restaurant was empty with the exception of the cook/cashier, She was extremely kind, and created a very welcoming visit. I order the curry chicken, the jerk pasta with chicken and stew chicken for my friend all togo. I also ordered a jerk chicken pattie which was surprisingly yummy(my first one ever). It took her a min to get my food together, but it was all worth the wait. Everything was really good, I was very impressed with the pasta, it was really spicy, but very good, She put just enough sauce on the pasta to keep it from drying out. The Curry chicken had a different little flare to it, very yummy and served with beans & rice and also slaw(they were out of cabbage). My friend ate the stew chicken so I did not have the opportunity to try that one, but I didn’t hear any complaints. All and all, Spice It Up has really good food & great service and I’m sure we will be visiting them again soon.

We went here with a Groupon after seeing a play at the lyric. The staff was friendly and the food was really good. Both my husband and I got the small platters and neither of us could finish it. I can’t imagine how big a large is. We had the sweet and spicy ginger wings. They could have used more sauce(I like a lot). Our son got the fish tacos… they were amazing. For dinner I got curry chicken. It was excellent and very authentic Jamaican curry. My hubby got the oxtails. They were awesome. My son got a cheeseburger and said it was really good. My only fault was that the workers or owners kids were there and were very loud at times and rambunctious at times.

I had the brown stew chicken for lunch and it was excellent. I ordered the jerk chicken for tonight. I had the white rice since they had sold out of the peas and rice. Sorrel was a little spicy but good also.

The food was not good. Ordered a large and there was enough meat for a small meal. The coleslaw tasted like salad, very poor quality. The rice and peas was dry and there wasn’t any gravy for the rice. While eating the meal i found hair AND a rubber band in my meat !! Worse Jamaican food ever!
