Skip’s Steaks

I was a little disappointed on my first visit.
Our steak on the sandwiches were overcooked and dry. We had a pretty large order, but we were the only patrons in the restaurant, so I expected the food to be really, really good. My niece would not finish her sandwich because the meat was too dry for her. I took a bite of hers, and it was worse than mine, as far as that goes. The fries were good… that’s so not why we came here, though.
On my 2^nd visit, I requested the Cheeze Whiz and lots of it. I could have sworn that’s what made a «Philly Cheese Steak» just that. But it wasn’t even added the first time. You must request it, otherwise you get sliced cheese. On this 2^nd visit, we were blown away. It’s a simple American food, nothing exquisite at all, but this was my 1^st and only meal of the day. And boy, was it good. The fries were great. The steak sandwich was hot, cheesy, juicy, and succulent. My friend ordered cheese steak fries– no bread. Just fries with steak and gooey cheese poured on top. Healthy? Hell, no. Your taste buds will dance for you, though.
As far as customer service goes, forget about it. The one lady with the hat doesn’t talk and is rude; she smacked her lips when my niece changed her mind about what she wanted. She’s always there. As for the other lady, she was nice but was flirting with my friend so hard, it was uncomfortable… the googley eyes, begging for his number, giving him «the eye», etc. *shudders*

I have definitely had better cheesesteak elsewhere. I was very disappointed in the quality. The only thing that I was impressed about was how fast the driver got to my door. However, I will NEVER get ANYTHING from this place again.

Alright, so I have probably been here minimum 20 times in the last 6 months. What can I say, I’m philly fiend and initially the place started out pretty well. Here things my thc influenced self would order from here:
Chicken Cheeseteak — Extra Whiz and onions
Beef Cheesteak Hoagie — Extra Whiz
Philly Cheesesteak Fries — Extra Whiz
Popocorn Shrimp
Skips Burger
I would say that the food and quality has consistently declined since I first started going and the delivery service is atrocious as James W. mentioned. However you might get lucky. My biggest problem is how cheap they are giving you Cheese whiz even after you pay extra for it. Also the Cheese Whiz is in a clear plastic squirt bottle, im pretty sure the temperature they are required to the serve the Cheese Whiz exceeds the melting point of the cheap plastics in the squirt bottle essentially creating plastic whiz. They should be using the steel to heat and hold the whiz.
As you can see, I’m a bit Anthony Bourdainish about my gooey, processed cheese products.

I ordered food for delivery from here and I live in the gated community. I made it clear in the notes of the order to look for my name at the gate and I will let you in. Well, this delivery person came up to the gate and looked at the order and dialed my phone number to ask me to let her in. I repeated the special notes on the order to go to the gate and dial the number. She called me again on her own phone to ask me my name. Then, I never got a dial in from the gate. It was another 10 minutes and she still wasn’t at my place with my food. Then, I got a call from her. She asked where I lived. I told her where I was. She still drove the opposite direction, even though the numbers on the building were continuing to go up. After she finally figured that out, she arrived at my place. This was almost 20 minutes from the time that she arrived at the community and called me the first time to my getting my food. And, when she walked up, I was waiting next to the door, so I opened it before she had to knock because I could hear her saying the number to my place loudly. When I opened it, she just smiled and said «oh, is someone looking for me?» No apology for being the dumbest delivery person on the planet or for taking forever or for existing at all. Her fabulous «I *heart* Pork» shirt and her nonchalant attitude was really pathetic, but it seemed to represent this place perfectly.
So, yea, I got my food. So, I opened it up and it looked like she had shaken the sandwich and kicked it across the parking lot. I’m pretty sure that all the meat was just surrounding the bread. By the time that I got to it, it was cold, too. Probably because it took 20 minutes from the moment she got to the apartment, or maybe because it’s horribly cooked. The cheese fries were a pile of soggy potato crap, too.
I haven’t written reviews on Unilocal in a long time, but I pulled this up because I swear I’ve never had a worse experience with delivery since I was old enough to pick up a phone and call a location for them to bring food to me.
So, do not ever consider ordering delivery from this place, ever. While I hope that no one else ever experiences this, I just did and I don’t think that the service there is good enough to really impress many.

Great cheese steaks. They’re from philly of course so they know how to make a good cheese steak.
